Yeah it's eating more wax than I thought...

Learning curve is steep on this vape.

It has potential, just some kinks.

Not anymore than a dab of ti eats wax, I've found I conserve a noticeable amount now since I sworn off dabbing  Learning curve is the fun part! Heat up times/hit speed to vapour density vary by battery life/type and lots of other conditions. Goodluck in your endeavors!

If it's eating wax, one of two things

Either you're doing something wrong or your tolerance is above and beyond what Rev can deliver.

I found the learning curve of the Rev to be smaller than the Launch Box's. Now that's a fun vape; temperamental but solid on delivery.

From cold start with a fresh battery, you're looking at around 10-15 second warm-up and then every hit after that will be faster due to retained heat. From my pocket to my mouth, I can get vapors in 10 or so seconds? If I leave it in the car overnight and it's colder than a penguin's ass when I get it... well, gotta take an extra hit to "get things going" ya know?

Great, glad you worked it out. The goods should be absorbed into the reservoir, not sitting on top of it. Loaded correctly the heater never gets anywhere near that hot, the extra energy going into making vapor rather than getting stuff still hotter and hotter. No harm to the vape, but it can be real hard on what oil is trapped inside. From empty I suggest .1 gram or a tiny bit more. Melt it in well (as you've discovered) before ramping it up the first time for real. Expect at least a few good hits but keep track of the quality. Also examining the surface of the ceramic floor can give you a clue. If it looks dry, it probably is. If, OTOH, it looks 'damp' you're probably good to go.

As soon as production slows, add .050 (a paper match head, or small drop), never more than .100. You don't want to flood it. It gets slow to respond and the taste suffers. Also keep track of the battery charge, if it slows and you're not absolutely sure the battery's good, swap in your spare and check that first. Otherwise you risk the flood. Never add a second 'top up' if the first didn't seem to improve production again immediately.

Anyway, congrats and enjoy it. It's an excellent machine for what it does for sure.

OF I have got to say thanks. I did what you stated to do above and it works so much better than the way i was doing it before. Since i have only had shatter since ive got the Rev its also less messy the way you told me to pack it. It hits great. I have a question though , what kind of concentrates do you prefer in the Rev , like shatter, budder, or moon rock ?

I found that the CO2 oil in syringes is easiest. The consistency is perfect, seeps down with relatively little heat. Waxes (solid consistency, but not solid like shatter) also works well. moonrocks should work fine as well. The stuff I put in here is stuff that will vape clean, meaning if you put some on foil and hit it with a lighter, it would vaporize cleanly with no residue. For shatter, you'll find yourself having to prime it a tiny bit more. Maybe an extra hit? It's just the consistency.

I don't think you really need to say thanks, there's lots of examples of guys who don't and seem to do just fine afterwards, but you're very welcome, of course. Thanks for saying as much, and thanks for the excellent feedback, glad it's working out for you.

As Brother Q said (man that guy's fast and right too often isn't he?), CO2 oils and BHO are favorites with many of us. I'm also very fond of some Sour Diesel wax a local dispensary sells from time to time, but it's a little harder to load and for some reason seems to also leak a little easier? I've never tried moon rock (or even seen it I guess?) but shatter has worked for me. I've had bad experiences with some budder and taffy stuff (even highly rated), too much plant junk, almost as bad as bubble (which works but needs stirring between hits and makes a mess quickly).

My advice is to depend on the foil test for guidance and favor the lighter colored oils and waxes.

Best wishes.

Learned another thing since my last post.

It's best if I load, melt wax into puddle (5-6 second warm up), let cool for few seconds then 15 second warm up then inhale.

Dabs slightly bigger than a rice grain works well.

Excellent point. The key is definitely melting it into the ceramic sponge rather than trying to vape it off the surface. The ceramic just doesn't conduct heat well enough for that.

I like the 'grain of rice' measure, more ethnic than my usual 'paper match head' guide but since we use Basmati rice won't I be overloading that way?

Haha I didn't think of different kinds of rice, sorry.

I'm used to regular white rice (short grain).

No need to apologize.....I guess you never 'did time' in India? They have some mighty fixed idea about rice, and there's lots of them. Many families there buy their annual rice supply at one time with much deliberation.

And then, of course, we have the Japanese......

Pretty amazing grain, really, feeds a LOT of the word.

You've got to be kidding me... I wait for a week for this thing to travel about 40 miles to my house. It finally shows up today and I get everything open only to find there is no fucking mouthpiece in my package. To say I am unhappy and slightly pissed off is a huge understatement. Can't even use the thing until I get a mouthpiece. God Damnit!!

So that's why I'm missing my mouthpiece, everyone over there is stoned. Y'know it's a good idea not to be stoned while you work. Shit, if I did that people would probably die.

Anyway, I may as well clean the hell out of this Revolution cart. Do you guys just boil the whole cart or soak the whole thing in ISO? Do you remove the rubber o-ring?

Figure of speech im assuming. Even in ol CA most workplaces frown upon those kinds of things yah know. Stuff happens email/call them their really helpful and kind. Your in luck though you can still use it until your mp comes. If you have a e-cig store anywhere by where you live you can go pick one up that will fit for like 3 bucks... Hope you get things worked out

Ecig mouthpieces fit the Rev cart?

I've already made contact and a new mouthpiece is being shipped.

Well probably not all but i ran into pretty much the same problem you did and i found quite a few fairly easily that worked just fine. Not a perfect fit by anymeans but itll work and no "burnt" lips while you wait. I highly recommend against using it with no mouthpeice ;)

I'm sorry, I guess I got really lost somewhere, you live 40 miles from TV (but show on the East Coast?) it took a week for you to get it shipped to you and came without a mouthpiece? This is a new unit? From TV (they haven't had any for many months I thought) or maybe it went in for service? Did it have a MP when it went in?

Sorry to ask so many questions, but for some reason this isn't making sense to me, TIA.

Now to the issue, if you have any e-cig places handy the standard 'drip tips' work just fine for this until you get the one from TV?

Thanks again for the info and good luck.

No, no. I didn't purchase directly from TV. I realize I never mentioned that I bought it from a shop in Brooklyn. It shipped in its original packaging with everything but the mouthpiece. I called the shop and they have already shipped a new mouthpiece out. I also purchased a couple of extra mouthpieces off of TV's website. I figure since it came in its original packaging that the mouthpiece was left out at the factory.

On a brighter note I found a mouthpiece from a cheapo corncob pipe my mother in law gave to me (I have a small collection of nice pipes that I use some very nice tobacco with every so often). It's long, but it works just fine and I have been able to try out the TV. I am very, very impressed with this product. I literally just finished a small dab out of the TV and I feel like a million dollars. The build quality is awesome. Absolutely no part of this thing feels cheap or skimped on.

I'll be honest, I had always kept my distance from oil pens for many reasons, but the main reason was that they all seemed plasticky and cheap, this thing is the exact opposite. I also stayed away because concentrates usually kick my ass hard, but with this I can either go light on the switch and get wispy hits or I can lean on it and get nail quality hits. I wish I had jumped on the Revolution train earlier. I missed out on some cool stuff. I'm really glad I have one now though.

So far as cleaning, I can really just boil the whole Revolution cart? I feel like the top ceramic part dirtied up really fast. I figured this would happen, just not so fast.

Thanks for clearing that up. I seriously doubt it left TV without it, it would not have fit the tube right for openers? If it did, it would have been half a year or so ago......

Not to disparage the shop, but..... How many times have you heard of expedient stuff like swapping the display model for the dead one?

How ever it got lost, sounds like you've got it under control. Hopefully very soon you'll have the official MP which if I recall correctly has a restriction built into it? It works OK without it, but IMO better with some extra restriction. In the DART this is done with the UFO filter above the chamber. In that same vein some guys find the Pure and True Flow MPs good for this guy as well.

Anyway, glad you got it in gear. Remember, 'load small (.05 to .1 at a time, never more) and often' and keep an eye on your battery charge (guys flood it out by adding more oil when they think it's low when the issue is the battery getting weak......you end up with a flooded unit that's still dead).

Thanks again for the details, enjoy your new vape, it's a great one for sure.

BTW you do know it'll do bubble in a pinch? You need to stir between hits but it works. Most guys like pulling up on the top to get access rather than twisting the window, be sure to try both.

Oh, yeah, you asked about cleaning didn't you? I'm not sure why you need to clean a new unit but I usually boil it first (leaving the o-ring on is fine) since it gets the most out, then ISO soak for maybe 10 more minutes then boil it again to get rid of the ISO. Then 200 or less in the toaster oven or put it in a warm place to dry out well. You loose maybe .15 gram doing this, so I don't do it until I think it needs it. From clean, start with maybe .2 grams at most? As soon as it slows up add another .05 and get to it.

Good luck.

Thanks for the advice. I have been loading very small amounts. I've been loading from the top as it just seems easier to get the material right on the ceramic rather than using the window. Once the material is on the ceramic I've been priming the material to soak into the ceramic. A get about a half dozen decent hits before the flavor and density dwindle to nothing. At this point the ceramic doesn't look moist anymore so I repeat that process. It seems to be working really great. On my second dab I leaned on the switch a littłe longer and got that nail quality hit. It was intense.

You're very welcome, glad you're getting a handle on it. It's a neat tool once you learn to drive it right. I think your technique is great, getting the results you want, you can experiment a bit and see if you can improve but your base is spot on IMO. I figure about six of the heaviest hits I can manage off the .05 load, usually a few more since I take it back a notch or two.

You've made an excellent observation in the taste and appearance shift. If the light is good enough you can go by looks alone but paying attention to the fall off (and topping up promptly) keeps the working temperature down and avoids cooking the oil I find. It stays fresh if the surface looks a little damp still.

And you're also onto something with messing with the power. I find sometimes with a fresh battery and load it can try to get away from me. I drop power a few seconds and keep pulling then hit the gas again. It takes some fiddling to get the feel for it, but that little rascal can put out a scary amount of vapor under the right conditions.

Anyway, congrats on finding what may turn out to be the last new Revolution in captivity! More so for getting on top of it so quickly. Use it in good heath.

All in all, not bad for an East Coast guy......

Funny story. I walk into my LHS today to see if they had anything that could serve as a mouthpiece. The guy asks what I need it to fit and I show him my Revolution cart. He takes it from my hand and stares at it, walks over to another counter and digs under there for a minute and comes back up with a brand new black Revolution in the package. I was really hoping it was a DART version, it wasn't. I didn't ask him if he would separate the mouthpiece. $150 for it. I really thought about buying it as a backup. I still may.

I wish I had known they had it, but they don't carry much in the way of vaporization so I never even thought to ask.

damn, i feel like i ripped myself off, lol.
jk, glad it went to a deserving friend. he's majorly happy about it. i really want to send
in these two blown cores, but i think it might be smarter to wait 'til they get caught up
w/ cera production. got rid of my hv ava to another well deserving friend as well as an adapter for his persei. have one of each (lv,sv) left and the two blown cores. keep or sell for what 2.5x as much retail?
that's just crazy!
