How much could I get set up for one like this? Maybe little smaller.
If you mean my glass tube setup, its an ApixDesign.com which start at around 145 (but might be less if shorter)

If you don't mind a wait I just sent him an email with what I was looking for :-)

any one out there every use oil or wax in their Dog... i don't have a nail so i moved the screen up and put in a small cotton ball w/ my dab on it and it works nice... i'm not a fan of the cotton method but i can't argue w/ results.. and i'm feelin the results:ko:... the more you put in the more dense the hits.. i'm using mine through a good size bub right now.. and it's working nice... i don't have a good camera or id put up a vid... but maybe some one else can make one? seems to keep on rippin and rippin so far for how much i put in.. its a little restrictive but i might have used just a little too much of the cotton ball.

It works, tho I've never done anything but add oil/wax to a bed of herbs.

It IS possible to add too much though, just FYI.
Past a certain qty point when the oil melts it can 100% block airflow (at least on the bed of herbs)

Well I'm the proud owner of a new Dog, this baby is housebroken and BARKING!

The only issue I'm having is with the silicone stems, although they hit great...perhaps some of you dog owners can suggest a solution to this issue...the silicone tubes give off a silicone taste, especially during 2nd and 3rd draws from a stem, and reeks out a room like a used pipe even after only one or 2 light uses and rinsing (AZ,MZ nylon stems never reeked, no matter how much I used them). I tried cleaning the silicon stems thoroughly and repeatedly with soap and hot water, but the silicone still clings to smells like no one's business. I also tried the typical ISO alcohol soaks, but now cannot get the alcohol smell or taste out of these silicone stems, no matter much I rinse them. So alcohol combined with silicone is definitely affecting the flavor of the material. I tried glass stems on my Myrtlezap in the past, but it broke the very first time I lightly tapped (and I mean lightly) it to get the material out of it!

I never use any alcohol or soaps.

When I have a new stem I do a burn off prior to the first use.
I just place the new stem on the log while its pre-heated for 10-20 seconds.
Sometimes 2 or 3 times.

After it cools down I'll load some herb. Through water there's no off-putting silicone taste to me.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the silicone stems. I use them with a GONG adapter made for whips and this combo is by far my favorite for the UD & HI. Probably the e-nano also when I receive it. My experience is that after using them 5 or 10 times any smell of off taste goes away. After that ISO works great to keep them clean.

If you want to speed up the "break in," throw the stem into the silverware tray in your dishwasher and run them through a cycle with your dishes. (Also works great for general cleaning.)

I have been using the same two stems for well over a year now and don't think they will wear out short of physical trauma of some sort. Sometimes simplicity is superior.

Time to dust off my UD! Warmin her up right now! My e-nano is going in for a wood repair so it's time to bring out the dog! This is why I love having a couple vapes around. It's like the day I got it all over again! :)

Does the Underdog "bring out the dog" in all of us?

Oh yes it does...a solid one hour warm up on my dog and she is foggin so hard I can barley believe it! Forgot how awesome my UD is. Dave your the shit!

Yeah, the UD hits like a steam train. One thing I like about the silicone stems is that you can in effect adjust your temp by putting the stem just barely on the heat port for lower CBD's...or push it down further, closer to the screen and the material gets blasted by more heat, hitting almost as hard as a damn bong! Makes a huge difference, no need for variable power supply at all IMO with the UD. No lack of temp with this hound...

UD owners, how has your UD experience been with the glass stems as opposed to the silicone stems? I find from past experience with AZ,MZ's, I found that glass stems break too easily, even if you tap it very lightly to get material out, glass is clean but so fragile.

I never really got the hang of the glass stems. I found the thick silicone gives me fatter rips. YMMV.

Ok, thanks for the suggestion, I'll break it in a little more with more vaping, then try the dishwasher...you must excuse me, I'm new to the dog pound! :brow:

Before I started using the Wong exclusively, I would only use the glass stems. I found their size, feel, and screen placement to be perfect for me. And I haven't had any of them break on me. :)

And as Stu said, the silicone stems definitely seem to give bigger hits. Another reason I prefer the glass stems - I'm the type who needs small hits all day to .... well.... make the day slightly less unbearable. So I gotta make that cvault stash last as long as possible!

I'm the same with EDA. I used to only use the glass stem for direct draw before acquiring a WonG. I found it to give me the type of draw i liked and also just a better feel. However, I don't mind using a silicone stem from time to time either.

When it comes to durability, the glass stems that Dave provides are pretty solid. I've made comments in the past when i dropped my glass stem on floor that is carpeted and once on ceramic tiles, all of which the glass stem survived unscathed. IME a glass stem breaking while handling isn't too much of a concern.

But if you want suggestion for a solution, maybe keep a rug around the area that you vape? so just in the event that a glass stem does drop, it drops on the rug on top of whatever type of floor you have instead of falling directly on something like tiled floors or concrete.

Not on the rug, man!

Dave thanks for taking all the time, effort and risk to design such a cool one of a kind log. Just receive it after order on Friday and this pup is the coolest. The copper bucket is way more impressive then I'd ever thought it be.

Take a bow my friend!

about stems falling on the floor, my glass stem has fallen so often I can't remember how often, and not a sign of damage
it'not a completely hard floor though, carpeted but not supersoft carpet, it's pretty old too

This is my first post on these forums... I just got my WonG adapter in and have been testing it out pretty heavily for the past week. I like it but have found 1 problem... the tubing often slips off, dropping the glass insert into my downstem.

If any1 else is having this problem, a drop of orange juice swabbed and left to dry on the glass seems to be a quick fix for this. I don't know how long it will last but for now my WonG is holding together much better.with no slippage.

Just wanted to post in here and say thanks to Dave for the super quick shipping. I placed an order Friday, got a shipping notice Saturday and got my new silicone stems and screens on Monday. Pretty damn good :D

Couldn't help but notice the color difference between my old stem and my new ones... haha and I didn't even notice it had happened.

Im having the same problem with my wong..Stirring your load doesnt help. the particulates get it the stem and on the glass and really negates a good seal..I try to wipe down the silicone tubing every few bowls... just spit and a q tip works.. Hopefully Dave will offer the wong glass as a stand alone soon, it worries me since it gets so much use...atleast 3 to 4 bowls a day..

I guess I'm confused. Wouldn't this "problem" be fixed with replacement silicone instead of replacement glass?
