Living in NC and like most have a long history of smoking. Long time fear of cancer from combustion etc... Always said hey Ill get a vape and put it off.... Then thought it is such a small price to pay to be healthy.

Waiting on my PD! Great timing too as I am looking for a new job and need the wait time to clean up.

I am interested in Anthropology, History, and going to new restaurants.

Whats happening FC?

I'm new to the site but I've been lurking around as a guest for a couple of days now. This Christmas will be my one year anniversary with my Vapor Bros. I originally got the vape out of curiosity. At first I wasn't too sure If i liked it but after a few sessions it just grew on me i guess. Im a senior in high school and after graduating I plan on going to school for botany and hopefully become an experienced caregiver.
I came across this site when I was looking for some info on the Iolite Vaporizer. I think it's pretty awesome that you guys have a site completely dedicated to vaporizing. Currently my vape collection only includes my Vapor Brothers but I plan on ordering an Iolite. I was also impressed that there is also an Iolite rep that is a member on this site. I have never seen such involved customer service on a forum before.
Needless to say I'm stoked to be a part of this site.

Howdy all, long-time lurker but decided to sign up :-)

A mate from another forum directed me to this site when I decided to give up smoking and start vaping, and it was due to FC's influence/recommendation that I bought my first vape - a Purple Days.

Just bought my 2nd, a SSV and can't wait for it to arrive!

I'm a 21 year old uni student from Australia and I like long walks on the beach and candle-lit dinners...

Welcome taggs. A PD and an SSV? Couldn't you find a couple of decent vapes to buy?

What's Going On?
Hey All- The_Other_Shoe here, first time user of the forum, month long guest. Been reading up, also order my own vape finally after hitting my friends buddha. I couldn't stand not having my own. On the list for the PD after that who knows :D.

Well, I couldn't think of a name so I went with a story. First time I ever smoked I was at a friends house and needless to say I wasn't thinking straight, I was running around frantically looking for my shoe, screaming "Where's the other shoe?!?" But apparently I was still wearing both of them... fun night that one was.

I'm not affiliated with any religion, self described agnostic. As for politics, I would describe myself as slightly conservative, but I would have to say mostly moderate, definitely not an extremist in either direction.

I'm your basic 18 y.o. from the bay in California, except the fact that I'm not 'gangsta' or any of that stuff. I prefer the mellow ambiance of the outdoors, with some chill music like Sublime or RHCP or Nirvana, anything really except hip-hop or rap or country or R&B. Definitely a BIG fan of any rock from classic to hard, big fan of metal, techno/electronic can be good. Music is a lifeblood. Unfortunately, I am only blessed by loving listening to music because any time I try to create, it is disastrous and I have found my hands to be musically retarded.

Video games and movies are fun, like Grandma's Boy and Supertroopers. I would still much rather be outside enjoying nature. The best part is that my Ford Ranger has a loveseat in the bed, so I can park anywhere and enjoy the scenery.

That's about all I can think of quickly to describe myself. If anyone would like to chime in ask a few questions or anything, I'm very open so it's all good.

Thanks for listening, well reading really... I'll see you around the threads you guys.

Hello Everyone!
I've been lurking around these parts for a couple of weeks, and finally decided to sign up.

I'm a newb at Vaporizing, but quite familiar with glass and cannabis

I've only vaped from a volcano, but with some luck all of that will change today!
My new SSV from 7th floor is out for delivery right now. It should be arriving anytime...
I have read all of the threads on the SSV and I think I am ready to go...

Nice to finally be here,
BB

Hey budbreath - the SSV is really nice. It was my first serious vaporizer....
In fact I haven't used it in several months but now I am in the mood to revisit it...

Hi., my names Ash. I live in the States. Ive got two amazing kids and a beautiful wife/BFF. Ive been smoking since 1991. But, mostly due to availability, my intake had been infrequent over the past few years.

Eventually we made a steady connection, which led me to notice that I didnt have a decent bong in the house. This didnt bother my wife, who prefers a simple wood pipe, but a good piece really adds t to my enjoyment. So, we picked up a decent 10 GonG tube aad shopt the local h, and I saw a vaporizer for the first time. So now my wifes birthday is coming up and I was thinking of getting her a very nice glass spoon. Then I remembered that vaporizer thing.

I found the Vaporizer101 video www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9luNVYlT_E which sold me on the need for one a vaporizer. Then I spent an excessive amount of time trying to understand all the different features, and eventually found this site. I was so excited that all this info was being revealed, that I bored my wife for an hour explaining how Id finally found fuckcombustion, and how almost everything else on the web was either blatant propaganda.or lacked any useful content.

Since this vape is at least nominally a gift for my wife, I spent an evening combusting andattempting to understand which features she most valued, functionally and aesthetically. Finally, after untold hours lurking around here, I ordered a PD. Safe, simple, efficient, healthy and stealthy.

So, weve been on the wait list for a while, but there are still more days ahead than behind. Im already thinking about #2, but committed to waiting until weve gotten friendly with the PD before making the next acquisition.

BTW I just came across something I think some folks would like to see. Can someone tell this noob where to post something like this?
cgi.ebay.ca/Free-Shipping-New-Herba...emQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item3a52df8b9e

And, thanks for the great info here on grinders. Mix n Ball classic screen on its way.

Good choice with the PD, you won't regret that. In the meantime, I'd look into something like the launch box, vaporgenie or vaporstar-- Inexpensive yet functional vapes that will tide you over and also give you a portable option. The vaporstar would let you use your glass as well.

As for the vape on ebay that you linked: stay away. No name, made in China knockoff, no warranty, probably unsafe materials, etc., etc. Not even worth the shipping cost.

Welcome to FC, and the clouds of sweet, sweet vapor.

Welcome Ash. A second congrats on the PD purchase. ;)

I bored my wife for an hour explaining how Id finally found fuckcombustion, and how almost everything else on the web was either blatant propaganda.or lacked any useful content.
While we do feel like we have the best info on vapor and vapes here, I think you're being a little unfair to some other forums. Marijuana.com in particular, has a very active vape forum with good info, as well as quite a few members who also post here. Some other mj forums also have some good info, although they tend to lag a little for the latest info and aren't nearly as active.

Yeah, your eBay linked vape is a ripoff of multiple models -SSV, DBV, original analog V-Tower. We don't recommend the 'no warranty vapes' here.

Please allow me to clarify, I was in no way suggesting that I would ever purchase that POS vape. I was linked to it because it had me ROFLMAO.

That's one hellofa dbv clone. if you scroll down you'll see one of the key features is "Blue, green and red flashing lights". Clearly made in china by someone who knew about 7th floor products but who never actally used one (or partaken in MJ consumption in any other way.

Also no disrespect was intended toward posters onother sites. I'll take a look at what's happening over at Marijuana.com.

Thanks for the suggestions regarding portable vapes. definitey something i'm inerested in pickug up. I was sure my portable was going to be a MFLB, but i just recently lost use of one hand and I'm not sure that the LB will be particularly easy to use one-handed. PD on the other hand, should be no problem. mmm ... now that i think about it, this might be a good topic for a new thread.
:peace:

Pretty sure some of our members were vaporizing when you were still a wee lad. :D

 Amazing that it was always only a couple hundred degrees away, eh? I remember the feeling, what a revelation. Take your time perusing some of the popular threads, lots of info, and don't hesitate to ask when you have some questions.

Greeting and salutations.

I'm a 48 yr old male, married 22 years, three kids and two grandkids. My day job is a programmer (aka software engineer). Hobbies are golf, fishing in fast boats, high-end astronomy and NASCAR. I've been smoking cigs & ganj since I was 17. I quit smoking cigs almost 7 years ago (11/11/2002 @ 3:10am, but who's keeping track).

A year ago I learned that I had Prostate Cancer. Sidebar: guys, there is a blood test (PSA) that can detect this stuff ~10 years sooner than the traditional finger test. If you're 40 or older, next time you're at the doc getting something checked, have that blood test. It could save your life. I had surgery this past January, and all is clear and clean - but it's not been an easy ride back. Brutal in fact. You have to be TUFF to get old. :)

I've always been a daily user, but it's gotten much heavier this past year (no surprise there). That had been a cause for concern. Smoking is well known to cause all sorts of health problems, and me getting cancer isn't a theoretical possibility - it happened once, and could happen again. Yea, I know - there isn't a known causal relationship between PC and lung cancer, but once you get cancer in any form it screws up your head good.

So, a while back I'm sitting here feeling all sorry for myself and I wind up watching a movie to pass the time: "Super High Me". Anyone else catch this flick? Love it! Well, the main character winds up using a "vaporizer". WTF is that I wonder? I google things and find out that it's a Volcano, costs a fortune, and that vaporization is something I'd never heard of before but need to learn more about.

Not wanting to spend $500+ for a vaporizer (cancer is expensive), I forgot the idea and went about my daily routine. Well, a few weeks ago that movie was re-run on some cable channel that I happened upon, and I couldn't get "smoking=cancer" out of my head, so I did some more research and ordered a much more affordable vape (Da Buddha).

Holy Freaking Cow! How the !@#$%^ did I miss this for soooo many years? This vaporizing stuff is simply amazing. I've only been using a vape 5 days now, but I *feel* better. I also feel better when I wake up in the morning - I'm certain of it - it's not my imagination. It's also much more effective than smoking! Almost narcotic in fact. I had been taking 1 to 2 Vicodin 7.5 tabs per day - I've taken just one V over the past 5 days!!!

Another interesting dynamic is happening here too: everyone I show my Buddha to winds up ordering one the next day! :) A sister and two friends have each ordered a Buddha since Tuesday. I might should ask for a sales spiff! :)

I know where my towel is...

What's shakin! this is my first post here, i actually read like 30 pages of vaporizer discussion before registering - which caused me to buy an Extreme Vape in town yesterday.. it's actually filling a balloon as i type..

From Canada and been smoking up for 5 years (well, November is the anniversary) and have been vaporizing the mind for 2. I had one of those box vapes made in china, and it died after 1.5 years - the temperature wouldn't stop rising no matter where you turned the dial, and it lit the herb on fire lol. got a sore throat that night, too. Eventually the circuit board fried and smelt nasty. That was about 6 months ago.

During the summer i stopped buying weed and went all out smoking budder and my lungs actually cleared up quite a lot. My supplier ran out and i've made some a few times actually but i find i smoke the stuff way to fast. I suck at conserving budder and bho lol.

Anyway i'm glad to be back in the vaporizing situation - i didn't realize how much i missed it until that first inhale after 6 months.. i was worried about justifiying 300$ for herb or for a vape. Im so chied right now im happy with my decision. In the long run i hope to cut down a bit but its hard because.. well if you've seen Half Baked, i'm the Enhancement Stoner

"You ever see the back of a twenty dollar bill... on weed? Oh, there's some crazy shit, man. There's a dude in the bushes. Has he got a gun? I dunno! RED TEAM GO, RED TEAM GO. "

Amongst the corn
Hi All! I'm 36, transplant from the east coast into the middle of cornfields.. married, no kids. Light smoker since I was 21 *was nerd in HS, still am*
Tried the IO a couple months ago, jumped like a lemming to purchase one, and never want to be without a working vape again. My lungs are now spoiled. My pretty glass pipes are display pieces only, can't bring myself to part with them.
I enjoy making edibles as well as potent potables, nothing goes to waste. First ever forum I've joined, seems like there's a good bunch kicking around in here.

Hi I am new here and I can't find my original post. Thanks for the welcome. I am sorry I forgot the name of the poster who welcomed me. I use a vapir one v5.0 and it's great! I did see a post (it may have been on another board) and the author said that vaporizer was kind of cheap. I have to say the opposite. it seems very well built to me. I got it 3 months ago and have used it daily. It still works like a charm! Anyone else use this one? I am curious to hear other opinions. cya :-)

Hey nice to meet you and i found your story really interesting. I've never used the Da Buddha but I have a Silver Surfer which is simply a more stylized Da Buddha.
So I guess we have pretty much the same vaporizer. I got into vaping about 2 years ago and it changed the way I think about getting high. I know what you mean about the head being more "narcotic." My friend described it as "more floaty." As you go along you might want to amass a small collection of different vaporizers because it's fun and because different situations sometimes call for different vaporizers. Reading through FC will hip you to the whole deal, absolutely.
