Yeah I've been thinking the same thing for a while now, but get this: managed to try some local, organic grown weed up near Nimbin and the complexity of the aromatics astounded me. And it was very anxiolytic and calming as well. Definitly feels like there are a number of volatiles acting in this speedy-anxiety space.

Suspect it's very strain specific and we'll need more widespread HPLC to really know what is going on here, but yes it's all starting to take shape. Really excited that more and more people are starting to report and comment on these experiences.

Earlier tonight I pre-vaped about 3-4g in the Volcano Digit for 30 mins @140C. Was about 2/3 to 3/4 full bowl. Filled the room with aromatics, was quite surprised - gave the room a subtle but visible haze which I didn't expect. Will write up more later but in summary I got nothing when vaping a pinch of this at 185 or 195, had to take it to 200 to get anything boiling off but it all came at once as expected, very calming and anti-spasmodic which is what I've been chasing for years.

More tomorrow, but I'm already very excited about the potential here for vaping in general, not to mention extracts and edibles. Must remember to pick up a good scale soon so I can start a dosage diary and make notes. I suspect that vaping a large amount of this will pack quite a punch whereas normally it's released more slowly over time, used only a very small pinch tonight so will be interesting what tomorrow brings.

I've been researching the same thing. The cooking term is called 'sweating'. 320 oven for 30 min. I'm going to try small amounts till I find a sweet spot. I know the information we're getting is true because I can feel the difference between earlier vs. a later vape. Don't know if you saw that chart that was posted a while back, but concerned is we sweat off the THC, are we ruining it for the medical benefits. The science says no, but I don't think every strain is going to behave the same. Seems it's a personal trial / error sort of thing.

How did you roast your weed? What temp, how long, and what in?
Just getting started. I'm going to try 320 for 30 minutes. I'm new to cannabis for a medical condition. Was never into getting high, so I feel more comfortable to avoid it. I have Indica Pink Panther and Girl Scout Cookie. Pink Panther tastes great when fresh and still pretty good after it turns a light brown. Speaking of brown, do we vape for CBD's until the bud-lets turn a darker brown? I haven't seen info on when to refresh the unit? All advice welcome. :)

I just cooked some in my oven at 320 degrees for 30 minutes. Turned it light yellow brown in color. The taste is not as sweet. More earthy, but not a bad flavor for me. I set my PAX Vape for medium (390 degrees). Post session, I haven't had any rushed feelings of euphoria. A little heady, but smooth and controllable. I'm not sure how long it's going to take for me to know if medical Cannabis works for me. I need to visit another thread on this site to learn more about others experiences. The cannabis got a head start. I had to take steriods so that has now hit the re-set button. Be interesting to see if the Cannabis has what it takes to maintain a holding pattern.

Damn, 320F is far too hot - you vaped your THC away, as it has a boiling point of 315F. Next time, keep it under 250F.

I would try to Vape some mullein leafy extract...it's a lung tonic and helps get rid of the bad juju

I only toasted a tiny amount. Just enough to load one oven full on my PAX. I'm confused, I thought it was ok to toast off the the THC? I know it's got a lot of attributes, but also the primary ingredient that brings on euphoria? I'm a light weight when it comes to the euphoria Cannabis causes. I am easily consumed by it. To the point I couldn't of had fun if I wanted to and why I never got into smoking it for fun. Do I really need more of the THC to get the best CBD attributes?

Yeah, in your vape, but not when you decarboxylate it in your oven (kitchen oven, not Pax oven). If the THC evaporates in your oven (as it did) you don't get to inhale it. The point is to cook your herb at a temperature high enough to decarboxylate it, but not so high that you lose any THC to speak of. And 230-250F is good for this.

I thought I read everything but I guess not cause I sure missed that part. So I can do it in a regular cook oven but only on a very low temp and only time the higher temp would work is if the vape unit does it and the product is consumed immediately after. Does that sound right? So in this process, our goal is the temper the THC? To mean we don't lose the healing/medical attributes of the THC, we just tame the bigger part of the high? If that is correct great for patient like me. In my case, I don't need to feel immediate relief from the medication. I need it in my system working with my system to regulate my central nervous and immune system condition. Like a person with MS, I get exasperation attacks. My immune system gets so hypersensitive, it throws a major temper tantrum. The inflammation from these is very dangerous and life threatening so you I have to go to ER to remedy. First 2 years I knew something was wrong I only had one of these. But since summer of last year, I've now had 4 in less than a year. The doctor I'm seeing now is doing a work up for MG. Sounds like a new beer, huh? If I have MG, the long term treatment includes a daily dose of steriods. Steriods are hard on the organs and bones. I was rather hoping that rather than tear down good health to stand guard against a disease, MMJ would keep me off steriods or at least be a good partner so I can take it at lower doses. My last visit to ER was a week ago so I started the MMJ hoping as I come off the Steriods it's already on top of it. My problem with MMJ is being sensitive to THC. Takes very little to get me high. I could consume a low dose to avoid too much THC but won't be getting enough medication for the bigger job. Discovering you guys had this figured out was really good news to me. I could have my cake oop! I mean brownie and eat it too. :)

this is a cool idea... i know when combusting decarbing would always make a more interesting smoke... i always assumed vaping did that in the process and there wouldn't be much a difference in potency to vape decarb'd bud.. now i'm gonna fire up the EQ and get a nug decarb'd and see how it goes...

EDIT: so i did a light decarb for at least a half hour in the EQ at like 130c... i like it... improved smoothness of my herb, clarity of the high and intensity... cool it works like it should... i always assumed that there was no point to worry about that w/ vaping.. never gave it much thought though i guess..

Seems the pharmacies are missing a book of business here. The tested product has to be graded and includes the specs. Each strain being unique, it wouldn't be a stretch to note the vape temp needed to customize the strain for us customers. The professional term is called 'compounding'. That's what we're doing, but a high end vape could get it exacting to the strain being purchased. Just sayin...

debi...i dont know where you are, but i sure hope you are in a medical state with the severity of your condition. if so, the effects you are chasing are going to better achieved by getting the right strains. the dispensaries have that shit down. if not, then you might be well served getting a good digital temperature controlled vape like the Ion (accurate to within 2C) and getting the same strain every time, which might not be attainable for you. you could then play with it by vaping at lower temps and only consuming the vapor generated later at higher temps. but you would need a lot of control and consistency with your vaporizer and your supply. but again, medical strains are going to be the way to go for you, i think.

I'm good...I'm in a State where it's legal. And yes, I will only buy from a dispensary to assure I get medical grade. My case is too serious to be bothering with the unknown. The dispensary I went to was a big help in getting me started. They post grade info and pricing on their website. Pretty cool! The MMJ hasn't been strong enough for me to tame the Central Nervous System. So far, my body only responds to Prednisone. But I am going to continue vaping. Too many attributes not to take advantage. I'm making remarkable progress and should be getting all my answers soon. If I'm facing cancer on top the MD I'm guessing I'll need several product types? The Ion sure looks like it would be perfect to serve a patient like me. Thank you for telling me about it!! I will have to save my $$$ up. After buying the PAX, visiting ER twice along with regular doctor visits and medications, I'm totally tapped out. I feel like an out of control car payment! LOL!!
