Your perception of time and space warps as you do a 180 rotation, resulting in an enhanced sensitivity to temperature!!!!:science: Jk, don't quote me on that.

I am so happy about the price shift from ~1000 to ~600 ; furthermore, I think this will allow more people to try this vaporizer.

Side note- FYI The people at authorizedvaporizerdealer or vaporizeit (the peeps who sell minivaps) are very nice and easy to talk too (Gave me a killer discount).

Thought you guys might like to know that I recorded an interview with Jorge, creator of the miniVAP at Spannabis a couple of weeks ago, it's available on this podcast:

New Today from the Dopefiend.co.uk Podcast Network:

On this month's extra-special episode of the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast, the Dopefiend heads to Barcelona in order to attend the world's largest cannabis fair, Spannabis. First, the Dopefiend kicks off the day with a very stoney breakfast session at the home of Barcelona-based grower Gordon Green, who talks about the popularity of Spannabis and the rest of the European circuit of cannabis-themed expos and the openness of cannabis culture in Spain, as they work through the selection of gourmet strains gathered for this occasion, including highly potent Wembley, grown outdoors in November! Gordon explains how the Spanish Cannabis Social Club system works, how it is affecting the street-dealing scene in Spain, and how tourists can encounter gourmet herb in Barcelona. Then Gordon talks about his experience as a grower, his strict adherence to natural, organic methods, including making his own pesticide, and his own experimentation in breeding, and what he sees as the benefits of being able to grow outdoors. Finally the pair look ahead to the future for the Spanish Social Club system, before setting off for Spannabis itself, where the Dopefiend runs into friends of the Dopecast Elizabeth and Line from Resin Seeds and CBD Crew, who talk about the success of their strain Cannatonic, and their work with high-CBD strains, which seem to be growing exponentially in popularity, so much so that they've had to reduce their involvement with the Resin Club. The two ladies talk about the latest developments in the Spanish Cannabis Social Club scene, which, despite the closure of the oldest of the clubs, continues to capitalise on the liberal attitudes of the Spanish populus. Next, the Dopefiend heads over to another friend of the Dopecast, Miller, the inventor of the Puff-It vaporizer, who's devoting his weekend to showing Spannabis attendees how his asthma-inhaler vaporizer works. Miller talks about the tough competition in the portable vaporizer marketplace, and how he's ensuring that he can keep up by working on new developments, for example the rumoured new forced-air portable he may be working on. Next, the Dopefiend talks to a true pioneer of the international cannabis movement, Arjan Greenhouse, who talks about how times of crisis have been good for the cannabis industry and how the Dutch politicians have damaged the Dutch cannabis industry and led to the growth of the industry abroad, in places like Spain. Next, the Dopefiend asks Arjan about his Strain Hunters documentaries, and how he responds to criticisms and accusations about how his distribution of hybrid strains may squeeze original landrace strains out. Arjan also talks about how he feels his hard work has ensured the success of the Greenhouse brand in the face of what he sees as jealousy from the rest of the industry, who he believes mostly are only interested in the money, while his focus has always been legalisation. Arjan talks about how he has cleaned up the coffeeshop scene by opening comfortable, trendy coffeeshops, and why he believes we will see Greenhouse coffeeshops around the world within the next three years. Arjan talks about the current state of play with the wietpas system in the Netherlands, but ultimately returns with real passion and anger to the subject of the criticism he has faced, and takes the opportunity to speak out against his detractors, even on the subject of his coffeeshops' burgers, french fries and cheesecake, and also lets the cat out of the bag regarding the launch of his upcoming landrace seed line, Strain Hunters Seeds. Turning from one of the biggest and most outspoken figureheads of the breeding world to a more understated, yet still hugeley successful breeder, Big Buddha, who talks about the growth of his business in Spain, which is in contrast to a shrinking market in his native UK, and how he's been working with Spanish Cannabis Social Clubs. Big Buddha also talks about his success in the USA, the growing interest in high-CBD strains, and the rise of autoflowering strains, which have become a big part of his business. Next, the Dopefiend heads outside for some fresh air and bumps into Jorge, the creator of the subject of last month's Dopecast, the incredible miniVAP vaporizer, who talks about his aim to create a truly high-quality device, and what he was working on in the time between the Dopecast's first encounter with the miniVAP in 2009, and its release on the public market this year. Jorge goes onto talk about what led him to develop a vaporizer in the first place, and outlines the process of development, and also talks about why he feels he is not really in direct competition with most of the other vaporizers available today. The Dopefiend talks to Jorge about why the miniVAP is so different to many other vaporizers, and why it is perfect for medical users, and how Jorge has been working with Spanish Cannabis Clubs, and also how Dopefiend.co.uk listeners can partake in a very special offer if they want to buy a miniVAP now at vapefiend.com. Finally the Dopefiend reconnects with Gordon Green to look back on an incredible day at Spannabis.

I'm really chomping at the bit and looking forward to receiving the miniVAP. I got a good price from my friends at vapefiend.com (my third vaporizer purchased from them). They are one of the few operations where their pricing includes shipping anywhere in the world. This works out well for me because postage from Europe to Asia normally quite expensive. I'm very pleased to know that I will have one of the first 2013 production units. I can't wait to enjoy my first session with the miniVAP.

As with my other vaporizers, I will be posting my initial impressions and a short review.

Also - Great episode, Dopefiend. I really enjoyed the podcast, especially the interview with Jorge.

Lol.
My theory is that the base of the cone, just below the mouthpiece, is the part where heat accumulates. when the Vap is upside down, because of gravity, your load sits all in that space so you heat it more.
I don't know if this is what happens, but after vaping, I see that the herb that gets stuck on the screen of that cone, is the most brown of the load so I think that there is where most of the vaping processes take place even if the heating element is below the bowl and not on the cone.
Maybe it's just the air flow that make this to happen. Maybe I'm totally wrong.

Just placed my order for the silver mv!! So super excited..I settled on the silver because my lady said it looked more like a coffee thermos...Thats the main reason why I wanted one of these. How discreet it looks. The older I get the less I want my things to shout out, hey look at me im paraphonilia! Im hoping this will be the last vape I need to buy.I ordered from the manufacturer. That warranty is very reassuring . And who doesnt love free shipping? I know I could have gotten an xp and ascent eventually for the same price..But I just wanted one portable and the best portable...This fits the bill...O I cant wait!

edit- do you guys heat empty unit then load?Or just load cold unit and let it warm up?and most importantly Does it even matter ...?

It matters less than with others vapes as the cooking is minimal but for an amazing first puff always load just before your first sip, when the unit is ready.

Edit : I have been amazed how much vapors you can actually get with the blue setting and the silicone cone perfect seal (I guess I have the 2013 temperatures)
I can't wait, the beta 2 should be commercially available in a couple of weeks

I'm finally getting another unit along with my set of new accessories.. Already dealing with the manufacturer to get my bulk order right

I got back from my vacation and my battery is here ... but it doesn't seem to be working right ... on battery it shuts off after about a minute and won't turn back on until I place it on the charging base even though the battery shows a full charge (green light) ... and the PA shows it as having a full charge as well.

Seems to me someone else had this issue but don't feel like searching (I know ... I know ... sorry :))

I have some battery issues as well. Sometimes during use my battery will randomly flash from green to red. Make sure the battery is properly seated on the charging dock and charge it for 30 minutes. That may help.

I did this and it didn't make a difference ... (I know the battery is seating right because I get acknowledgement after its drained a little from the PA when I place it on the base). I let it charge overnight and also didn't make a difference.

When I had this one I had to return it, maybe you got one of the failed battery units
What voltage you got when it shuts off ? My battery was stuck on 0v protection mode and I had to place it on the dock to reset but the problem was coming over again and stuff.

Woah Woah woah......woah... beta2, what the fish? Id love to know more...

The silicone cone, finally produced (version beta 2) It allows for an easy "no cook" hook up

When I had this one I had to return it, I hope its just because you didn't let it sit enough on the dock

Thanks RD ... pretty darn sure it's not an issue with it not sitting on the dock long enough but I'll keep trying for a bit ... it does work for instance if I let it heat sitting in the dock ... then take 4-5 hits and put back on the dock ... during that time it "might" not turn off (50/50) ... light indicating battery charge is always green.

Do not do that, it will cause permanent damage (official recommendation)

re: battery ... just a thought ... make sure the contacts are very clean on both the battery and the device. there must be excellent connection for the current draw required. that's why i went to a plug from just touch contacts.

It's a defective battery unit, this behavior is recognizable. I got thru the same exact issue.

Do they come from an old batch ? That may be one from the same batch I got in the first place ! What is you serial n° ? (PM)

It is going through the heat up cycle as it should before powering down, correct? I get this behavior when my battery is low, hence my suggestion.

So when the minivap goes into sleep mode, how do you wake it up? A couple of times now the only thing I could do was shut it down by holding both buttons down. I didnt see this explained in the manual.
When it's asleep is it maintaining some temperature or is it the same as shutting the unit down?

Thanks :)

Short answer: just press + or - when the unit blinks blue. The unit will go to the last level you selected, blinking with that colour. Then you can choose other heat levels by pressing + or -.

After your puffs the unit stays heaten at the level you chose, and you can see it by the solid green or whatever color you have selected.
After some inactivity on solid green my unit starts blinking blue (sleeping mode?).
I think that way the unit starts to low down temperature and if you don't use it for several minutes it shuts off.
In that mode the unit keeps a certain heat, and if you want to use it you have just to press + or - and adjust the heat you like.
Even if the MV is already off after blinking blue, I'm pretty sure that when you start it again it reaches heat levels faster than from cold start.

Was browsing vaporpedia and notice that miniVap isnt included on the list of convection style vaporizers. Whats up with that? So miniVap uses passive convection. Can anyone compare smell vs a log style vape? I was forced to vape outside when I had the Launch box and The Ud changed that completely..Oh thank goodness. Now the misses is happy and Im warm and toasty:smug: .I sure dont want to go back to vaping outdoors, thats what my lithe vape is for

edit- Still very excited about the mv! next day after I ordered I got a shipping confirmation. Its being shipped to the states via dhl...just for future refrence. My tracking hasnt updated yet but Im at ease...

Thank you justcametomind. I will try that next time.
The more I use my minivap, the more I love it! everyone who has had a session with me is amazed by the flavor, smooth draws, and strength.

Yes me too Poly. Every time is a discovery the first weeks. Something I read here before purchasing and I really like is being able to vape really small amounts. I get the effect after a couple of minutes, experiencing only flavor when pulling.
The flavor is amazing compared to the few other vapes I tried. With really small amounts I don't get bad taste when the material is exausted, just no flavor (no popcorn or burnt taste at all).

I received an email from the producer. I asked for some news about accessories packs, and he told me great news are coming in a couple of weeks! New chambers and ability to buy other packs rather than only the accessory pack you find with unit purchase.
It will be a small batch for the new accessories so we'll have to be quick (and please report here if you see anything new on MV site!)!

I can't wait, the beta 2 should be commercially available in a couple of weeks

I already have a beta 2. The invoice is lying around somewhere here, but I'm sure it stated 3.2 beta or something like this with beta2 on the name of the unit.
[edit:]I read more carefully your original post. I think my beta 2 was related to firmware if I'm correct, my cone for sure is not made of silicone (same materials as mouthpiece).

Roger, I was watching your video (new silicone cap and decarbox ring) and had a question.
Do you use the basket when you're not using water tools? You mention prepping "bowls".. Is the bowl/basket good for small loads? Thanks
