Lockable stash box

I have just discovered that a flatmate in my house has been pilfering bits of my meds. Due to this I have been searching for a suitable container but cant find anything that will do the job.
Now I want something I can put in the freezer is not too heavy (so not metal) but is hardcase not soft and can either be locked with a key or be able to put a padlock on it and has enough room for at least an ounce.
Can anyone think of something that is not too expensive and help me out?

I need to be able to keep it in a freezer though. I wanted something like a freezer/sandwich box with a hinge and a lock but cant find anything like it.

Agreed. Small safe is the way to go. Or even just a lockbox with a combo dial.
They also sell 'discrete' jars, but those are usually some kind of plastic and not always air tight. That and some people have learned to check for those.

Good luck.

I dont think it really needs to be a safe as I dont think he will be doing it again soon but I just want to put the temptation out the way and have peace of mind.

Small lockbox would fit in the freezer unless it also has to be stealthy. Looks like a toolbox but with holes drilled in to hang a lock. I'd suggest combo, just in case roomie has the will/smarts to jimmy one of the key styles open. Fill mason jar, lock jar in box, put in freezer. No more worries.

All lockboxes I ever encountered were pieces of SHHH. you could open them with a little effort. anyone brave enough to post links! I want a lockbox thats not a piece of shhh :D

You could use Humidipacks instead of the freezer, they will do a better job at preserving your herb and you can put your air-tight stash jar in whatever safe place you see fit. In a C-Vault or Mason jar with a Humidipack inside a small safe inside my locked bedroom... that's where my stash would be if I had a roommate with sticky fingers.

Not sure what these are made of, they're cheap enough that I doubt there's very much metal: http://www.vaultz.net/products

Um, anything with a lock on it is gonna look a little out of place in most ppls freezer.

[edit] for what it's worth, kief's advice is probably what you should listen to.[/quote]

Thats true

Even if the lockbox is a POS, someone will have to do some damage to it to bust it open. So if you come home, that's open, and absolutely nothing else is missing, you've pretty much narrowed it down. I know if I was trying to sneak weight, and I saw a lock, I wouldn't even bother with it unless I had plans to move out.

I'd still go with the small safe personally. There's always things laying around that you'd rather not have people mess with, it's not like the stash would be the only thing in there. Just grab one small enough to be portable so you can take when you move, and bury it under a pile of clothes in your closet.:2c:

try a pistol safe, they are very small discrete and puts a point across, "your fuckn with my guns man, cut it out. Plus they are way more difficult to crack, sucks though, ive had that trouble, I just dont let that individual know where my stuff is ever. I regularly hide shit so well I cant find it some times.

If u want the end all they have a gun safe that reads ur biometrics before it will open. Finger print id, not evev a roomate tryn to get the boot can get into that!.

If price is a concern then I would go this route.

Get a new flatmate. Seriously, what a dick. Back in College, this guy I knew had a roommate who would steal his food. One day, he decided to get revenge so he mixed up a jug of Kool Aid and pissed in it. Food never went missing again.

Now I'm not condoning or recommending that action...:D

Edit: You could always try something like this:

I Like! That looks like it has the same shitty lock as the lockboxes though. Is it a better lock that you cant pick with a butter knife or a paperclip? LOL

Read reviews and someone recommended this

you can make something.... but it would have to be hard metal to have a chance of keeping me out haha;)... if you find a (hard) metal container you think is good enough for your situation, then you can (hopefully) find some one to weld you some pad lock tabs EZ.....
