So shipping is 2-3 weeks regardless, or are the ones pictured on the site ready to go? I guess that is my deciding factor on the issue. Is there a blue lattice waiting for me? my wife wants me to buy the blue one so I will shut up. ;)

Typically always 2-3 week. Depending if its already made we ship within the first week. Its rare but it happens.

I don't have a problem with our guys. We've got two regular drivers I see. They always knock on the corner of the house, because I let them know the bedroom is right there and its a sure way to get the dogs going (which lets us know, someone is here). Good guys, always in a rush as usual... I hold them up as little as possible.

Though, at our last house, my wife lost a couple of several hundred dollar orders, because they just stuck it outside our front gate, next to the mail box. Anyone could just walk up and take them.

Discovered two small cracks in my lattice and I've not even had it a week. I've been extremely careful with this piece. I've only cleaned it once and made sure not to expose it to any extreme temp changes. Handled it so delicately whilst cleaning. Really disappointed. The lattice is a really really great piece and I was, and still am, amazed by how well it functions. I was also amazed by how thick the glass was compared to my black leaf. My black leaf took much more of a beating and a small crack only developed after about 4 months use. I can't afford to send this back for fixing as my account is still recovering from buying the thing. :(

They would have to be very blatant, cracks. I've often times looks at it and thought I saw something, that wasn't there.

Two small ones, on the lattice would be next to impossible to see.

(CORRECTION: My misunderstanding, that the cracks were on the lattice itself)

Also... you might want to contact Lev, privately... instead of airing something, that could be handled that way.

BDV I messaged you pics. You can see one, the other I can't capture due to my awful camera flash that I can't seem to turn off.
I did think hard about whether or not to post about it on this thread. I posted here incase anybody had a similar experience or if it was just blemishes from production. Or maybe if someone else had found a tiny crack but it didn't develop into anything more. If it turned out to be a common occurrence that didn't develop further/ affect function then I'd be reassured and wouldn't feel the need to do anything about it other than keep an eye on it. I wouldn't want to send it all the way back if it turns out it's not a big deal. To sum it up if it's just a minor cosmetic issue, that wouldn't bother me in the slightest.
I hope nobody gets me wrong. Lev is a great guy and the Lattice is the best glass I've ever owned, let alone used. It's beautifully made, and indeed feels very durable.
So I'm sorry if it seemed I was venting. Of course I was disappointed but the purpose of the post was to seek reassurance and possibly some advice from somebody that may be/have been in a similar situation. It's a lot of money and a long way to send it back so I thought I'd seek a few different opinions before deciding what to do.

Just trying to let you know, before it gets a warning.

If it were a common occurrence, trust me... it would be common knowledge. Check the Glassblowersdirect thread and read the about the mouthpiece fiasco.

I don't think you're out to get him, heck... I'd be sobbing, heaving shoulders with the piece in my hands, cursing his very existence at this point. I don't want you doing that.

Thanks for the heads up. I can see how it looked bad, so I'm glad I got to clear things up a bit before others got the wrong idea. And don't worry, I won't be doing that. There's always one unlucky person when it comes to this sort of thing and it just happened to be my turn.

From what I can see... I'd still use it. You've recorded it, send it to Lev. I've vouched seeing it. Also... unless you're swinging it around from the stemless, or balancing a truck on there... I can't see it getting worse. Plus... that area's braced. The cracking is at the stemless joint, since people don't know exactly what we're talking about. I have dropped mine, kicked it over and even did a kick over, hockey shot across the bathroom floor, with that bubbler. Not even a scratch. So, it is uncommon for cracking.

The problem with glass is, when did it happen? From your version, it happened while in your hands. As a owner of the piece, I kind of feel like (if you treat your things better than me.)... "wtf, I didn't do anything wrong". But, how do you prove that? The glass guy is sitting there, going... "yeah right!" What if you are lying (I am not implying, suggesting, asking, saying any such thing)? Then he gets burned.

That's why I think the mods/admin really like the stuff taken care of behind the scenes. Lev's a cool guy. He may straight up say, "Sorry, nothing I can do". But I guarantee if you're not being pushy, or a jerk... maybe the two of you can work it out.

I'm working on this insane concept with my therapist. Reality Conflict Resolution. It talks about resolving disputes with a WIN/WIN. I think he's nuts. He swears it works. Maybe try working towards something like that.

BDV, you are the MAN!!

I've found that Reality Conflict Resolution (or whatever you want to call it) can and does work most of the time. Most reasonable adults realize the importance (and unfortunately the rarity) of win/win and will meet you halfway on just about anything - so long as all parties think its fair. The trick can be finding that point. But, IME there are some a-holes out there that will cut off their own nose - and yours - to spite their face. Fortunately for all of us, there seem to be very few of those types here on FC - and Lev certainly seems to an upstanding guy and then some!

Hope it all works out well for you Wonderfox. I know I love my lattice lots!! & would hate to see her with any issues.

Hey Fox, out of 2,5XX lattices sold to date 3 have gotten cracked from either pressure or mishandling. If you can send back the piece at any time do so and I'll gladly repair it for free. Usually takes 2 weeks if a piece needs to be replaced. 1 week for a patch. Keep in mind glass is glass and eventually they all get those small cracks in them from one reason or another. But as long as I'm here you can always PM me for any help. If I'm out for a day or so PM BDV, we pay him in love and glass XD. Thanks BDV for the help.

Spent 3 hours tonight in a lecture on EasyWin-Win negotiation

Reality Conflict Resolution is great! As flotntoke said, anybody reasonable will be willing to negotiate to ensure everybody is happy. RCR methods worked very much to my advantage when I was in college and even helped get me the job I have now.
Yep Lev is a great guy! Most definitely a reasonable adult :ko:
BDV I see what you mean about rather it behind the scenes. I'll leave the details that Lev can deal with out from now on. What I will say, is that I'm happy. Discussions with Lev have gone well and this thread has been very helpful (though I won't be posting anything like this publicly again!)
I will be sending it back for a repair when I can. Until then, it's still usable so I'll just keep an eye on things.
