Also, as of today we are a medical marijuana state. So they have 120 days to write the regulations of who can own/run/ work at a dispensary, how much a sixty day supply is, and how much can be grown both by dispensaries and patients with hardship licenses.

I expect them to do the last two first because it seems to be generally agreed that ealry patients are allowed to cultivate their own until dispensaries are open. I think you will still have to apply for hardship but will get it because the lack of available legal sources.

It's taken us a while, but we are finally a medical cannabis state.

Speaking with cannamed I agree, we CAN legally grow while there are 0 dispensaries set up...once we have cards of course.


27 days left until I can go see cannamed's doctor.

I setup my appt with Cannamed and my appt is Feb 22nd, ugh, should have jumped on it sooner. Oh well, patience is a virtue. When I called Cannamed they really seemed like they were wanting to give cards away. Fine with me, haha I can't wait!

i cant get cannamed to call me back.....ive left my name and number there twice.

in the meantime i tried to get an appointment with my physician and the woman at the front desk told me "marijuana is illegal" and she hung up on me.

I promptly called back and asked for my medical records so i could switch doctors.

Yeah looks like my anxiety got me a huge head start. I set it up back in December through email, and mine still isn't till Jan 29.

I'll be sure to let you guys know exactly what to expect.

Unacceptable. Percocet is illegal too, unless prescribed by a doctor...

She is not qualified to do her job. Not only is she supposed to just pass info on to the doctor, but she is in no position to be giving (incorrect) information about cannabis as medicine, especially if she is just a receptionist.

Really? I had to wait on hold for a few minutes but someone came right on, told me what to expect, what to bring, etc.. It really seemed like it was pretty much a slam dunk too. Luckily, I have 5+ yrs of medical records in hand for my IBS, which, again lucky for me, is right the Patient Form as an acceptable condition.

The guy I spoke with did say they were inundated with requests. I would just keep calling until you get someone. I just hope they setup dispensaries sooner rather than later.

There was a story on my google news page yesterday, the headline was 'cannamed opens, booked through the end of February." So, they're probably just busy as hell.

If you are really desperate, the integr8 office in Portland, Maine has a Massachusetts certified doctor who can give you a recommendation, but it will require a trip to Maine. Dr. Herman Learner, MD, since he is licensed in Mass it is a valid recommendation in Mass.

Me too. Very anxious about it, especially the location. Hope my car is there when I come out LOL.

If I get rejected I'd be surprised because of the "if you don't pay you don't qualify part. I really hope I get it.

Discreet parking. Nice looking receptionist. That's about all I can tell you so far. Already paid my $200. Either that's a great sign or they are going to rob me.

5 pages of easy questions needed to be filled out. Get those faxed or mailed to you ahead of time if you can.

Sorry for the delay. Got my card!

I'd suggest ANYONE go to cannamed. I feel like they make it really easy to get a card, which at first seemed negative to me, but honestly it doesn't make me feel guilty about it at all since I have my medical needs.

You all need to book an appointment with them right away!

Awesome! Great news man, I am happy for you. Thabks for the updates as well. I cant wait for my appt Feb 22! Now we just need some dispensaries to open.

You can get a caregiver from another state? So, how long was the appt. Did the Doctor ask you questions or did you just fill the forms out and you were done? Did he tell you an amount you could get? I am so happy I got all my medical records together last year. 5+ years of documentation will help me I think. Congrats again!

10 minute appointment. Long wait because they were booked up pretty tight.

5 pages of questions and info etc, and then he asked some questions about how it helps and how I use it and what I use it for. Then signed it and sent me on my way.

No amount was given so that is still up in the air. I'd feel fine with any amount I'll get caught with at this point. They haven't defined that in the law yet, and I never have that much at once honestly.

When is your appointment. I have no doubt anyone with a legit need (and honestly probably many without) will be able to get their cards.

My appt was postponed from Feb 22nd to today Feb 28th. Took a while to get in, but I got my recommendation. Very happy today! They offered a brochure for delivery services but I was late and ran out and forgot it. I am going to go back tomorrow and get it. Not sure where else I can really get it from, legally of course. Great day though! haha!

Check out massmedmarijuana.com (disclaimer I'm a mod there now) but honestly they are the only place I know of that directly gets patients in touch with high quality screened registered (to the CCM network) caregivers. You will get better meds than I've ever seen in this state, and the prices are much better. I'm not a caregiver myself, so I really have nothing to gain by sending you there.

Good luck and hope to see you there. FC is definitely not a place for sourcing, but register at massmedmarijuana and use the "locate a caregiver" feature.

I have to recant my suggestion to visit that site. As a mod I saw a lot of the behind the scenes stuff. Besides a lot of personal issues there, they simply don't seem to play favorites to a dangerous level.

I was stripped of my mod powers for saying that BHO does not cause cancer, because an older staff member in Maine insists that it does. They are not REALLY for the patients as they seem, and are making some $$$ off of caregiver subscriptions. The caregiver model is essentially dead in Massachusetts due to new laws anyway, but use serious caution there.

To be completely honest it is maybe useful to get a few connections, but then the rest of the info on the site could be just plain false/dangerous depending on who is posting it.

It is good for connections, but nothing else. Use extreme caution.
