Verdamper vaporizer

Hi,

i am looking again for a new vaporizer and i have seen de verdamper from Holland.

vaporizer_verdamper.jpg

I have had this one a couple of years ago and after all my vapes this one was the best
in taste.

But it uses a nichrome heatingwire that is why i sold it i got a bit paranoid about it because
there where claims that inhaling from a nichrome wire isn't good for the health.

Are there people here who are known with nichrome wire and can tell me with arguments
why it's not safe or why it's safe ?

Thnx ;)

IMO the herbalizer is probably a better choice ...and from what I know nichrome is'nt good for healt but most of the time they are glass or ceramic covered soo the is probably no trouble when they are covered

Hi,

thnx for your reply.

The wiring is not covered

The herborizer i have seen and read a lot about it but still i have my doubts about the stainless steel
and the fact that it has an plastic insulation at the top. Heat travels up so the plastic must get extremely
hot at the top.

The stainless steel is already colored as you can see.

I am still not convinced that there is a good vaporizer on the market.

Waterfiltration is a must !

Really? The perfect vaporizer, maybe not...but surely there must be some good vaporizers out there...I feel like I already own two perfectly "good" vaporizers (I would class them as great, for my usage...but I probably don't have as much vaporizing experience as you). I'll agree that most units are overpriced and no, there's nothing that's the top of the top...but I don't know...I think it's pretty personal, and you'll never get 100% what you want unless you construct it yourself. That's just my :2c: though. I do take issue with saying there's no "good" vaporizers, however...a lightbulb vape is still better for your body than smoking...so I'd say all vapes are basically "good".

So many people either buying cheap boxes that are truely questionable as far as safety, or questioning any and every type of metal used in a vaporizer. :(
I understand that Sebastien has caved in to people that share your paranoid concerns spikyvape, and is converting from his excellent stainless steel and ceramic design, to just a ceramic only. Since you're under the mistaken impression that SS is somehow dangerous in the vapor path, rest assured that the Herborizer will be dummied down into a lesser vape to please all the paranoid customers out there. What about oxidation and breakdown of the ceramic element? Why doesn't that concern you? I guess you could just buy a new Herbo every year and throw the old one away as it would be too dangerous to continue using.

I am still not convinced that there is a good vaporizer on the market.
I am, but I won't spend any time trying to convince you.

Please explain the dire consequences that await all of us who do not heed your warning. Have you ever stopped to think about all the poinsonous crap you breathe on a daily basis. I assume you don't live in a log cabin out in some pristine wilderness, where the air is always fresh and pure. And if you do, maybe consider the content of fumes from a fireplace. And have you ever used a gas powered lawn mower? 10 minutes behind one will put more garbage in your lungs than a year's worth of vaping from the worst vaporizer.

It's fine to be safety conscious, but don't believe every scary story and myth floating around the internet. Some people are certain that the Volcano is dangerous because it uses an aluminum heating block, even though the top temp reached is over 750 degrees less than the melting point of the alloy they use. And the University of Leiden has verified its safety. But there will always be doubters.

oh oh....i can't believe my eyes!

as max said....if you have dubts on the Herbo's stainless steel that is totally safe even after months of usage ;) ......wait for the new all ceramic heater Sebastien is making for the ceramic fashion's victims!!
The Herbo's electric cable is heat insulated and become warm after several hours but never hot enough to leave anything wrong in the air path.....so your dubts are legit but the the french guy knows what he is doing!

U need a multi vape user's opinion? after six months the Herbo is still at the top of my list....I know it is a bit pricey and quite fragile....but i can't find a better delivery method for my tasty clouds!

hope you will find the right one for you

if you talking about that white plastic on the verdamper it isn't a cap but a silicone wrap to avoid burning your fingers

Sure am glad I have a spare stainless steel one , my herbo can be left on for days quite regularly without a problem , not sure with the ceramic that that would be a good idea . The herbo rules in this joint !:p

ozwiz is still among us!!! :D:D:D:D .....my brother in Herbo I missing your comments but what's up to this caotic post/quote ?

spikyvape....i don't know the exact time but surely after the Volcano, the herbo, the Aromed and obviously the verdamper.....i do remember the first time i saw a verdamper in Holland was in the late '90 so...long time!
Also the PD is using a very old ss heater exchanger updated by Tom!
I was a ceramic fan but after some time with the Herbo ss heater, i like his way to maintain the temp steady!!

:D ..ops sorry spikyvape i've reply to a different question( like..in the history when vaporizers start to use ceramic heaters? :brow: )...this fog here is very thick...just forget it!

No i don't really know when the ceramic version will be available.....i'm sure if you ask to Sebastien, he can give you some news....my two cents??....if you wait for something that need to be tested...you could be the cavia(it)....or you must wait for someone else that test the new heater and report that it is better than the ceramic-steal heater.

:D:D think about this fact: the steel heater is the only piece that will last forever in your crystal bowl :uhoh:

G'day there marcuss I'm still there with you mate the herbo is STILL the only vap that anybody here uses these days . I've been travelling quite a bit surfing & marketing new biz venture www.swimman.com.au

I've the extreme going in the car which is a great vape but can't get that same smooooth nesss... you get with the herbo .

The verdamper looks rather tall for my liking , anybody know how tall ?:)

I'd still like to try it though , anything with all glass & water is probably going to have that smoother flavour , which is the way I like it .

Every so often an old mate drops around who has never smoked anything but joints , I have a few tokes just to be sociable of course  but that bloody awful taste . How did I bong for all those years it seems unbelievable now .

Sorry got overzelous there with the original post.

I love the looks of the herborizer, and I think I'll go over to that thread. Wrong thread to talk about the Herbo, but you Herborizer owners are some smart buyers. At my first glance of course...I haven't researched it much yet. BELIEVE ME I WILL, but if what you say (and what I see) is true it may make the wish list :p

I've met the Verdamper maker few years ago(4) in a Cannabis fair in Utrecht and he(what a big man!) baptized me with his own Verdamper :o ... i still remember the goodness...also due to the hi-grade material :ko:
then i've seen the Verdamper in few conossieur coffieshops but his height and the wooden box power supply make this vape hard to move but still a top quality vape!

DD....you don't go wrong with the Herbo believe me.....start to save some $$!

Pretty much any heating element is going to me made out of nichrome. It's the best material for heating. Usually it is encased in ceramic or glass though.

IMO, the Verdamper and Herborizer have drastically different (not better or worse IMO) performance despite having a similar set-up (don't know where to begin...)

Everett is great about answering ?'s (very passionate about his field :) )

Katsu? Anyday? Anyone....

If interested in my :2c: on the Stick Man (aka De Verdamper) I've got a pocket full of pennies ;) .

Toke care.

I've used this and several other vapes, both direct draw and bag. Verdamper is by far my favorite. When I went to amsterdam in 2006 I really wanted to find the best herb, hash, vape, glass, and I spent 2 weeks figuring out what I like best. Luckily one of the workers at the hostel I was staying purchased a verdamper a few days before I arrived, and kept it in the 24 hour lobby.

I personally hate bag systems, and don't really much care for the volcano either way. The verdamper has that kick you in the ass effect that I need when I'm in pain.

I like the models with the small jar. At coffeeshop Anyday, they mostly had the large jar models which I feel are too difficult to pull on and accumulate stale vapor. At anyday though there was the added luxury of the one way valve allowing you to blow out the stale contents of the vape without upseting the bowl in any way.

The downsides as far as I see it are portability or lack of, and expense. I havn't had much time to delve into these pages but I will do some reading on the ssv and the pd and whatever else seems to be so popular. But when I go out and make my purchase I already know what it will be.

only problem is I don't speak dutch and the online store is incomprehensible, I'm not about to pay even more because I have to go through some other site like greenharvest.

I prefer the Reizer to the larger "reizer groot mit ventel" that the Anyday had. This is as good as the website gets.

no thanks. and its $525? psh.

Thank you for contributing. I basically agree with everything you said  .
You may be interested in checking out the Herborizer and Vrip Heat Wand threads if you're not already familiar with them  .

Although, IMO, personal preferences dictate what one labels as the best vape, I still have never experienced another vape that has the power/flavor/ease/volume of the stikman (whom this thread was created for ;) ) . IMO, the Herborizer comes close and offers things the Verdamper may not (SS/ceramic, custom glass, mating with available pieces, etc.), the VHW has the potential to compete, and units like the Extreme have the versatility that will tickle any Verdamper owner who is getting tired of the 'one-trick pony'. Still, in many ways (IMO), the stikman is king!

One side note: the Verdamper even resembles the PD in a way :brow: . Both vaporizers are owned by individuals who don't emphasize marketing (and therefore have somewhat...rustic?...websites), yet are amazingly friendly, knowledgeable, approachable, and helpful (hello, Tom and Everett  ).

it always comes down to personal preferences. I like what you're saying about the extreme, I know a glass blower so a little add on to make any custom from him a vape would be bitching.

Although I just love the simplicity and easy pull of the verdamper, I'm not the type of person to get tired out of the same pipe over time. Everett is a silly guy based on the website and the pictures of him. I have emailed the people at verdamper before that they responded in perfect english and were able to quote me a price plus shipping that was very acceptable. now I just need to work up the dough.

thanks for the quick comments, its nice to see like minded individuals. I will do some further learning about suggested material, it is appreciated greatly.

thats kind of a strech... especially considering the two come from different sides of the world... the verdamper has its pro's and cons, but its up to the vaporist to decide if one vaporizer is "better" than another since there is no quantifiable measure of what makes a vaporizer better
