Choosing a portable for my lifestyle

Pierce

New Member
Hello All.

My name is Pierce and I have been looking into portable vaporizers for awhile, because I just started trying to get back in shape, and my lungs are in TERRIBLE condition. I have narrowed my choices down to the 4 below, but any other suggestions are welcome.

My current top choices are the Arizer Solo, Inhalater INH/XP, Pax by Ploom, and the DaVinci by Karma (in no particular order)

Preferences (in order):
-Safety: I want to have a vaporizer that gives clean hits and is safe to use(I dont wanna be vaporizing toxic/harmful material that could come from the unit's parts)
-Density of Hits: I am a heavy bong user, and therefore am used to giant rips. For my transition into the vape-life, I would love to have a unit that can give me satisfying amounts of vapor.
-On the go: I will be using this vaporizer a lot in my car, and therefore would like to be able to easily load it in my car or load it at my house and stuff it in my back pack with out worrying about the product spilling
-Efficiency: I am not a rich man by any means, and I try to conserve my herb as much as possible. I want the unit that will not waste any of the product that I put into it.
-Efficiency for the money: I can afford all of these products, but the cheaper the better, although I do want to get the best vapor for my money.
-Ease Of Use: I'd rather not have a unit that has a large learning curve attached to it like the MFLB.
-Smell: I know that vapor smell is largely contributed to how the user uses their unit, but the smell from the herb itself is also a biggie. I would love to have a unit where the herb is sealed tightly in, to prevent that smell from escaping.

Thats basically it..
Thanks for the help FC members :)

Go for the INH XP. The Solo won't give you as much versatility on-the-go as you want.

The Pax and DV have other flaws that make it inferior the other 2, plus it seems you won't need as much stealth as much as you need a powerfull unit.

+1 for the INH XP.

You can also easily hook up any portable to a bong for home use.

Thanks for the input.

I know the Inhalater capsules are made out of polyimide. Is this material still safe and non-toxic at around 400 degrees fahrenheit?

I use my xp at max temp every day and there is no off gassin or anything weird going on..material still looks safe and unchanged to me.

Out of all my vapes, the XP is my favorite

To help you out, it is efficient , gets big hits with ease, very ease to use and pass around to noobs. The maintenance is minimal also..

and for OTG usage the XP has a microusb charger.. I have 1 in my car already for my phone

Unfortunately, the only one of those vapes I have tried is the Solo, but I recommend it a ton and all seem to like it. I think it meets your criteria.

I dont have the INH but seems like it is superior to the solo. So I guess get that if you have the $, but if your on a budget the solo wont do you wrong; stainless steel bowl with glass stem. Reliable

go for the xp,when it works imo is the easiest to produce big clouds+ almost 0 maintenance.

Same goes here...I love my solo and I think it is so easy, you can pick the herb with your hands and get great clouds after few minutes.

Does the Solo or Inhalater use a ceramic heating element?
You don't need to be concerned about heating element materials if you're shopping the popular models discussed here.

Your goals of both big hits and conservation of supply are at odds. You can't process all the vapor in a big hit in a couple of seconds. Using a high temp setting all the time will also use up your herb in a hurry. Some portables certainly hit bigger than others, and having the capacity is nice, but as the user you have to balance the desires for big hits and conservation.

Ditto.

Your goals of both big hits and conservation of supply are at odds.

I think the easiest way to accomplish this would be to get an efficient vape (e.g., logs, Solo, etc.) and use a large volume chamber to collect all the vapor and inhale it all at once for a "big hit", more commonly referred to as a waterpipe.

Thanks for the help guys you have made this decision much easier! I have decided on the Solo for now since it is such s good price and has an amazing track record. Ill wait for th DaVinci Ascent to come out and in a few months ill probably get the XP or Ascent depending on reviews

i recently ordered the solo as well due to the same reasons (price, good track record) and i am very pleased with the the product (good vapor clouds and simplicity).
