Any comments from other users who have had multiple failures as to voltage stability and other ideas as to factors would be useful to see posted here and maybe we can identify a pattern so as to avoid future grief (I, personally, will be hooking up a UPS)
UPS?

So this is your second unit getting fixed? You think its just bad luck or something that keeps causing it to break down?

With the advent of the Cloud Plus now being shipped out, the internals on the new units are different, thus fixing the problem before.....so no, its not 'bad luck' and i wont have to worry about it happening again, every worry i had about the Cloud has now been fixed, im really happy with my purchase and im stoked to have my warranty extended even tho i prob wont need it now

good to hear. Just hope my unit was not the cloud plus since i just got it a week ago and it broke already. My serial number is [SN 1848], which if the numbers are in order then theres no way this is a new unit. Sux that theyd send me an older unit. My heat up time was 7 minutes tops tho. I thought older units took up to 15 minutes to heat up.

pretty sure the plus units come from the east coast, and the older units came from the west coast? anyone +1??

Uninterrupted power supply. A really big battery that also serves to modulate the power coming through it... in other words, it will "condition" the electricity.

People used to have them for their PCs... and most people have gotten lax about protecting them over the years.

Someone asked if the Cloud is cooler to the touch because the core temperature is cooler. I'm happy to say that the Cloud's heat shield is cooler to the touch while keeping the inner vaporization temperature is the same. We were able to figure out a few hardware and software changes that resulted in this improvement.

We are shipping out new units from our new manufacturer and as with all things rolling off a new manufacturing line, no matter how much testing and QA being done, there will be a few bad ones that sneak through. As people have said, just open a support ticket and we'll get a you a brand new unit out. We've done a much longer testing cycle this time so while I expect a few more of non-functioning units get out there, it will be dramatically less than our previous manufacturer.

. . . Oldiebutgoodie, very well composed and when you say it delivers heat more efficiently, does that mean the max temperature hasn't changed . . .

My post . . .

. . . I don't have any data on the chamber heat range being throttled back. But the new pulse modulation does deliver power more efficiently . . .

Note: Power, not heat. While the latter follows the former, they are not the same thing. More efficient delivery can result in less power being consumed to deliver the same heat. (Less power draw will also reduce heat elsewhere in the unit, hence the likelihood of that contributing to less heat being thrown off to the heat shield, coupled with changes to the heater and its jacket.)

If the temp operating range has been changed, that's a function of different tuning in the software. I would expect the top end of the range to be just safely short of combustion, like with other quality heat-regulated vapes, but again I have no data on that specifically so I just don't know.

EDIT: Hadn't seen SM's post above while typing my post. Appears that the operating range has not been changed.

SM55 has put my worries to rest!! Now I can safely say my next vaporizer purchase will be the cloud. I plan to make my move around 4/20 in anticpation of some sort of sale. One can only hope!

Is dandlco a reputable site? They offer the cloud for $399 with discount. If I cant get ahold of a rep or someone to confirm a coupon code this might be the best place

It seems about right. I dont think any site can go wrong really, its not their product they are selling lol. I personally recommend vapornation though, I got it for the same price, but i also got $40 in store credit, a scale, some aromatherapy blend, a grinder, and some cleaning solution all free. shipping was of course free, and was prompt.

edit:you have to use a coupon i found it on this site, fc11 i think it was

The $40 store credit really makes me wanna go for it. Just because I'll save and in the future I can maybe pick up a persei or even solo.

Where does the $40 store credit come into play? I just checked out the site - vape purchases include the aromatherapy blend along with 2 free gifts (i.e. grinder, scale, cleaning solution, etc) and the coupon code gives an 11% discount. But I'm assuming your store credit is from a return or something of that sort and not simply because you purchased a Cloud?

Are these online retailers getting units direct from VXL? Also are they the”new” units? I know buying my EQ online Arizer wouldn't warranty units bought at low ball prices. I don't really know the whole story and Im pretty sure you'd be all set with vapornation as VXL announced their partnership on twitter a while back but I'm just saying spending that much on something you wanna be sure.

Also you earn credit on purchases one of that size would get $40 towards future purchases

VXL just started going through some distributors, and I'm pretty sure they are being selective. I wouldn't worry about buying from any of them. If I know monkey, he would stop using a distributor that proved to be fucking its customers.

What I dont know is who is selling the Cloud vs Cloud+. There will undoubtedly be some earlier units in the supply chain somewhere.

I don't think the fc11 coupon is working for the cloud anymore on Vapornation.com. I finally decided to pull the trigger on one but the coupon wasn't showing any savings in my cart. I took the cloud out of my cart and added a different vape and the coupon worked.

Yeah personally I'm hoping Vapexhale ships them Elbs(since they don't last forever) and some of those pretty silicone bands. One thing i forgot to mention is with my order i bought some silver surfer stirring stick that can be used with the cloud for a few bucks. there's a price-match program thing they have too. I'm planning on asking a service rep on Monday if they allow the use of store credit with price match. if the ascent vape costs too much i may have to just get a mflb

Well there goes that. Bleh. I want the cloud but its just seemed like a better and better idea to go E-nano/inhalater xp in its place for the same price :/

Here's an experiment: Ask any Cloud owner if they would trade their Cloud for an inhalator and an E-nano combo pack.

Their responses should help with your conundrum.

Nothing can take the place of my Cloud.
