Arizer Solo

Thanks vape4life. I have cycled it about a dozen times the last 6 with a small fan aimed at it and while the empty draws are getting cleaner tasting the metallic dare I say chemically taste is still present. When I took the cap off I could see some wires visibly and I'm no electrician but I don't think I want to inhale any heated wire pieces. I think I'll give it another day of cycling , but I don't think this solo is the one for me.

Don't worry, you're not inhaling any heated wire pieces - it's not even an issue. It's not the way the airpath works. This vape isn't "VXC safe" with respect to air path purity, but I think it's clean, safe, and produces very, very tasty vapour especially if you use it without water.

I can't believe how much I love my Solo again - Arizer has it now perfected. My M1A battery is flawless, and works exactly like it should (battery doesn't drop too quick), i've done a bunch of burn offs and it does doesn't smell of anything anymore. I can still taste the SS or whatever the metallic taste on a clean empty stem. It's not offensive though, and I don't think it's harmful and i'm confident will go away with use. I could taste the same thing with an empty ELB with the vxc, so I think it might be that i'm sensitive to the taste of stainless.

I love how efficient the Solo is...I tested just a tiny bit coating the bottom of my fine mesh screen (which i love even more than PV's) and damn I couldn't believe how well it produced. This little bad boy can billow serious clouds! As far as i'm concerned, bang for buck value for dollar, the Solo easily takes the cake. I love the stock stems, the quality is perfection...not a single flaw on any of my three. The Solo unit itself is flawless as well, glossy black...but better quality paint than some of my past Solo's.

This devil heats up FAST! 20 seconds to 1 (5oc), 40 secs to 2, 45s 3, 60s 4...........i'm vaping in a minute flat! I typically stick around 2-7 on the temp scale :) Really, I love the temperature adjustments...they all work very well. Very nice brown even ABV and i've been quite surprised how non-irritating the hits have been, coming off a 3 week break of moderate-high usage. I was expecting to hack a lung, but instead not even a little bit irritated! The Cloud had me hacking so much because of all that vapour at once so quickly. It's a great vape and extremely effective, but it's not for everyone. I achieve much satisfaction of tasting the vapour without water through that short glass airpath, it's pretty fucking tasty.

I think this portable is near perfect at this point, but I do wish that the ceramic coating was still in production. I think I read a post here of a head shop that had new m102's? I'd really wanna get my hands on a brand new m102,m103, or m104.

Even if you get an older ceramic bowl model, it will be an SS model pretty quick. My ceramic was almost totally gone after about 6 months of light use.

I love my SOLO'S!
After loading up on Medicine in the form of WAX from GREEN RITE I then stopped by the SMOKE shop and scored a water pipe and fitted it to my PERSEI'S and my SOLO'S. It works with my VAPOLUCION (GLASS INTERNAL PATH) as well. This afternoon with my new water rig I was very well medicated. The VAPORIZERS through GLASS! It took me a year and a half learning about Medical Cannabis to finally take the leap of VAPOR through WATER. SMOOTH/SILK/WHITE/THICK/VAPOR.

No more AMBEIN C!
No more PROZAC!

My next flower vape will be the next SOLO!
No need to keep searching.

It is model M1A4911710. Did I mess up by buying from "thegolfmeister" on ebay?
And thanks for the response
sounds like vape4life answered your question, but I bought my solo from the same seller about a month ago. same model too, and I never had an issue w/ metallic taste, even with only 1 burn-off cycle.

...but I can say the power adapter pass through rocks hard. The only thing is I might vape all day non stop that way:). I will say I do hate that i have to unplug it after I am done. I thought I would be able to push the buttons and turn it off but I guess not.
Thats does 'kinda' suck...not a deal-breaker but good to know (you're the first that's mentioned it that I know of)...I will still prob. buy one eventually. Not relying on battery alone would be good. It's just weird that you can't turn it off when plugged...oh well.

Still loving this unit...money well-spent!

I don't use the battery in the house, strictly power adapter.....and I rarely take the Solo out of the house. I try to "preserve" the battery as much as possible. I've been very impressed with the battery life from what i've tried so far.

The PA goes to temp 1....I really wonder if it's staying at 50c, or if it's in fact in "idle" mode since it does shut off after 12 minutes. I also think that the timer when it shuts off restarts, so unless you unplug the PA and plug it back it, you may have a shorter cycle than you think....meaning, shuts off after 12 minutes....5 minutes go back, you go back and just increase the temp and have your sesh, you will only have an 8 min. sesh. Correct me if i'm wrong as I haven't testing this alot, but remember from the past.

Gonna do some iso qtips and more burn offs in an attempt to rid the metallic taste.

Bouldorado: You state you don't detect the meticallic taste, specifically after one burn off. This surprises me as it took a bunch before I could even stand sniffing the empty heater. Did you try it with a clean empty stem? I can see how flowers would mask it. When loaded with herb, all I can taste is the herb - and VERY well at that!

If you leave the Solo on 7 and its brand new your going to smell the bowl as it heats up.
Mine took a few days to stop the smell and I took mine apart and wiped everything down with ISO.But eventually the metal smell/taste will subside almost non existent now.i guess the bowl is seasoned now.
Just use it on 6. i very rarely go to 7 except to get the last bit from a stem/or while using my water pipe
Depending on the weed i get 5/6 has been working out great.

After the iso wipe of the heater bowl, and another cycle or two on 7....i tried a clean empty stem and I can't taste that metallic anymore! I sniff the bowl and there is zero odour. Gonna be enjoying some serious flava tonight!

I also stuck it under a light....NO mystery vapour whatsoever....with my Inhalater (even without ever using flowers in it) would produce constant vapour under the light with a capsule inserted, or not inserted. Either oils from my fingers, or polyimide offgass. Regardless, I couldn't get over the smell of the polymide on that one - which is why I now exclusively use a Solo. I love this thing.

Just so you all know, I got a new stove and decided not to use it till I read the book. I know that is strange since we all used stoves all our lives. It was a flat glass top so figured I would. The reason I am writing this is to say the book said do a burn. I was in shock. I did it for 30 minutes as it stated and oh my it was smoking like crazy and stunk to high heaven. I ran it another 30 and will do more later since I am not convinced it is done. I say all this to keep you and I safe. We need to clean stuff when we buy it. In the old days we never did and just used things. I was also surprised I have to condition the top surface before I use it as well but that is going to have to wait.

Now the power adapter is the best purchase or the dumbest purchase ever. I just sat and sucked on the solo all afternoon and night. I haven't timed the cycles but the first one beeps some light reduction it, it goes back to temp without pressing any buttons and you are back in business. You better not get to toasted cause this thing doesn't go off by itself and you can start a fire maybe:shrug:.

I am having a huge wire issue. I don't have enough space on my power strip for all these wires and can't bend to take them in and out. I tried two strips but it is such a mess. I need to figure out some cleaner way to do this. I do have some of the longer wires, not the plug part, hanging on my floor to ceiling bar to help me transfer. Some of these wires are soooooooo short though so that doesn't work. The solo has the shortest wire I have ever seen. At least the pass through adapter is long but the plug in side is short as well and once you get to the big box we all know that part is heavy so it can't be dangled in the air easily.

It's definitely a good purchase. It's so maddening to go to take a hit from the Solo only to realize more than 12 minutes have passed and it's automatically turned itself off. With the power adapter the Solo just drops to temperature level 1 and only takes around 30 seconds to come back up to heat.

I've never EVER combusted with the Solo, with or without the power adapter.

DOES. NOT. COMBUST.

It sounds like your power adapater is defective. My turns off after 12 mins. I've had many of these PA's in the past, without an issue.

Just like king said it goes to one and goes back up. It is great. Yours turns off completely? I will email PV in a few days when they open and ask them. I just think it is dangerous cause I vape non stop:D. I will say I am getting a lot more extraction as well.

I think it goes to temp 1 after the 12 minutes, and then goes into idle mode (light turns of on temp 1 and just blue idle light on). I definitely doesn't shoot up to temp though. I'll confirm if it eventually goes idle...standby, testing it now.

That metallic taste that some of you noticed initially is probably safe. I have a few of the stainless steel water bottles and they had an initial metallic taste. Stainless steel is used alot in food prep/cooking, it's perhaps the safest metal. Still sucks if you notice it and it doesn't go away though. I never noticed any smells or metallic taste after 3 burn offs at 7.

It's supposed to reset to power level 1. That's the power adapter in proper operation.
In my experience, it does not raise past this level without user intervention.

Yea if I remember right after about a thousand stems that is what it did. I was confused how to make it go back to three:rofl:. I will check later cause if I start now I won't stop unless I use the battery. You can definitely tell the difference in the power. I will just have to grab a different vape for now. I do wish it had some kind of turn off switch but suck is life. I hope if they are making a new solo they move the plug hole to the side so we can keep it standing. A toggle on/off switch on the PA would be nice

Naw, proper operation is that is turns off completely, and this is exactly what mine does. The reason it stays on 1 for a bit is because it's 50c, and takes a bit to cool down from that. It eventually goes into idle/standby mode with the blue light, and the led beside 1 goes completely out.

HOW? I haven't noticed a difference in output using the PA vs battery, but I may not be cognizant of it. Anyone else experience this phenomena?

Vape4life...does the blue light eventually go out as well? If not I still can't keep it plugged in or it will bother me.

I notice a faster heat up, maintaining heat better and just better over all vape sessions cause I don't stop at one.

Sorry you are right, it does eventually go into standby mode. Takes a good long while though.
