there is a yellow/orange flash after red, is that normal? Do you drop the bowl in before yellow? Does the Ha constantly heat your green?

BTW I have been using it on orange. I cant really tell if its orange or yellow unless its flashing.

Yes. When the HA comes up to temp, the heater shuts off and it slightly overshoots your set temp, thus the red light, then it cools to your set temp, thus flickering orange to yellow. Yellow/orange means set temp is achieved.
Does the Ha constantly heat your green?
Yes. Pin a nice load to the bottom of your crucible, pop it in, and its go time. If you leave things sitting around they will percolate so be ready and go till its done, imo. I used to pop the crucible out and throw it in the fridge to cool if I wanted to finish later . . .

From the HA manual:

5. Watch the tri-colored LED indicate
when the desired temperature is
achieved. Amber indicates desired
temperature has been reached. The
light will turn green when the actual
temperature is below the selected
temperature. (Too cool) The light will
turn red when the actual temperature
is above the selected temperature.
(Too hot)

Thanks, I used it so far and its really good. Ive been using the whip attachment and its pretty tasty. For 75 bucks, all is well. And my Pax gets a break now finally. :)

Just figured I could use the whip to hook up to my bubbler whip piece. Not as thick clouds as my pax but still yummy.

If the HA fits into a 14mm joint, why would a 18mm male to female joint work? I got my adapter and the 18mm side looks huge! the 14mm male side looks like it would fit into the mouthpiece part of my bubbler. Once I get home I will be able to confirm if it fits or not. I dont think it will. But before I ask for a swap I wanna make sure that I swap for the correct one.

This one?

Also, Would the vaporizer itself be considered male or female?
The Teflon mouthpiece would be considered a male end b/c it fits easily into a 14mm female part of a bowl, be-it the downstem, or GonG part of the bubbler.. The male2male are to turn your infamous into an oil rig.. You stick the male2male into the female of your infamous, then drop a nail into the top part of the male end, then drop a dome on top of the exposed male end.. Most adapters are male2female, some are female2female to make an oil rig(common to have a male joint welded in, like on a DG piece) then use a female2female adapter on top to use with vapes, not just nails&oil.

I have a 2.1 as well and my lights go to green when it has reached my desired temp. I usually vape with it at 400*f to get the thickest/densest vapor production. I suggest an angled adapter for use with your water pipe, or maybe attach via whip.. I suggest this from personal experience. I have eyes that are sensitive to bright lights and when I have my HA inverted the green lights tend to be a little too bright for me when I'm staring down at my piece. That's probably just my sensitive eyes though, others may not have an issue with it.

That being said, I normally use my HA in bag mode.. There's an awesome mod to the bag mouthpieces someone posted in this thread that I followed too. It uses the Arizer Extreme Q glass bag mouthpieces instead of the Teflon ones that come with the HA. I just Tend to prefer the glass mouthpieces for reclaim value.. Just my 2¢, hope some or any of this helps with your new HA!

Mine doesn't go to green, it just stays at orange

whip should not be necessary, just invert the device after it has warmed long enough to hold the teflon mouthpiece in place.

my bubbler is a 18mm joint, im waiting on the reducer to come sometime this week.

I'll check my HA on my infamous when I Get home this evening, probably in an hr or 2 and post a photo.. In my mind's eye I see the HA not pairing well with the little infamous, since the mouthpiece is close to the opening for vaporizer and the HA is a little bit bigger/beefier than your pax.. But it could be a decent pairing.. Scratch that, I haven't made a vid with my HA yet and since I have a new cam, I'll just do that and have it up here by this evening..

I ordered a 18mm to 14mm reducer, that was what I was told would be the correct thing I needed.

Sounds good though. The HA is doing a good job so far though. Once I get my hands on the gong adapter I will be a happy man. Im faded lol

What does blinking green mean? Its currently blinking green.

that IS the correct reducer you needed so you are in good shape there, I was only talking about the clearance between the width of the base of the HA in relation to where the mouthpieces is on the infamous, I'm just merely speculating in my brain though...

The blinking green light usually signifies on mine that the power save feature is about to kick on.. It starts by blinking green, then changes to purple and blue and red alternately indicating that I need to turn dial off and back on to get it to stabilize at the correct temp again.. Which by mine is indicated with a steady green light. You'll be able to see this in my vid when I post later

Thanks for the info. I was a bit confused when I saw the blinking green. I am totally medicated atm, running it through the infamous makes it nice and bubbly. :) While not as thick as I want, it still is effective.

The draw from the tubing itself gives a refreshing taste as well. And after the bowl is not super burning hot I am thrilled to see my intact bud vaporized brown. I don't wanna crush but I did notice a bit thicker cloud when I did crush.

Here is the Vid I made this evening, it's actually 2 separate vids I did back2back that I sloppily edited together.. Hopefully it shows everything I said it would, at the very end, I tried to make it visible how close the bottom(actually becomes the top when inverted into waterpipe) is to the mouthpiece opening on the Infamous.. I had to remove my hat and tilt my head back some in order for the HA not to rest on my forehead.

Lol, there's a moment in the vid when I check the balance of the HA on the Infamous trying to let it go and have the piece hold it up, that was a no-go, the teflon mouthpiece started to come off and the crucible also started to fall out, but i was able to get it all back into functioning fashion without really skipping a beat!

If the teflon mouthpiece would stay securely in place I would prefer NOT using the reducer, as having the reducer on my Infamous made the mouthpiece just kind of sit-ontop of the reducer, whereas i felt it made more of a closed seal without the reducer and the teflon actually being down in the stem..

Mine doesn't turn green on the knob or the led under it lol. It stays red on the bottom and orange on the knob, you must have an updated 2.1 or something

Hey everyone,

Just received a brand new H2.2 yesterday and gave it a shot last night. Started with a pea-sized amount in the crucible, turned it to 350, waited for the green LED, then hit the whip. I only saw vapor in the tube for a split second on the first hit, nothing after that. There was no clouds of smoke/vapor, nothing when I exhaled, etc.

Tried it a bit later with a slightly larger amount and the same thing, only some vapor on the first hit. The herb is completely brown, so it is doing something, I'm just not getting any vapors.

Any suggestions as I learn this new equipment?

i suggest turning up the heat! 350f is a great place to start, but once you aren't pulling vapors, turn up the heat. you can go in increments of whatever you like, but try 10f at first, then repeat - pull until no vapors, then turn up the heat again, until your at 400f. you can use this technique over multiple sessions, but only the first session will be tasty.

alternatively, you could just start the session at a higher temp, 375f.

It's vaporizing if the herb is turning brown and 350 is the temp I always used. You're getting vapor, but the HA is no big hitting whip vape. Most use it with glass if bigger hits are the goal. I don't know what your experience is with vaporizing (the high is a little different-cleaner), or what your tolerance level is, so can't comment on the effect you're getting, but the HA is very efficient at extraction. I'd try using a slightly larger piece of herb, as suggested, or filling a bag or two.

Salutations Meth0tica,

...saw vapor in the tube for a split second...

I don't understand this part unless PVC tubing is replacing a teflon straw on top of the main white teflon mouthpiece, whatever, but then that would be to fill a bag i suppose. Yet 350 °F wouldn't work for me neither anyway (i'm used to start at 365 on my HA 2.1 once it's done pre-heating and then i raise the heat in steps until i reach 385 °F (i try to stop there). Exceptionally i've dried a few buds at 325 °F as that makes it easy to crush them into some sort of cyan sugar-like flour under finger pressure, which then allows me to pack a bit more in my crucible (if i feel like it), otherwise my HerbalAire is rarely set to a temperature around 350 °F or below at all if it's not simply waiting...

Also i must mention that this is my prefered setup actually:

...and it doesn't get hot instantly as there's a cold loaded crucible on top of this tube when i 1st insert it...

Well, at least i can pre-heat that glass accessory before i start.

:peace:
