OK FC, strap in because life just changed, and it just got very weird. It appears that with over 100 samples, with video in some cases of the collection "animals/people", with blind DNA sequencing done by multiple labs, there is NO question. You have human DNA as tested by the mitochondria, and non human nuclear DNA (3 entire genomes) from the same muscle/skin/hair samples in which all the hair tests as non human (twice as wide) matching no animal known. Also, when the new sequences are put in the genetics bank they come back unknown. You can't fake DNA, its scientific proof, and like I said some of the feeding families have videos, there is no longer a question. Bigfoot is real

VOTES ON THE POLL ARE NOT PUBLIC!!! I have heard Dr. Ketchum, she is the real deal, and the study just published.

Abstract (short)
One hundred eleven samples of blood, tissue, hair, and other types of specimens were studied, characterized and hypothesized to be obtained from elusive hominins in North America commonly referred to as Sasquatch. DNA was extracted and purified from a subset of these samples that survived rigorous screening for wildlife species identification. Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) sequencing, specific genetic loci sequencing, forensic short tandem repeat (STR) testing, whole genome single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) bead array analysis, and next generation whole genome sequencing were conducted on purported Sasquatch DNA samples gathered from various locations in North America. Additionally, histopathologic and electron microscopic examination were performed on a large tissue sample... novel non-human DNA.

‘BIGFOOT’ DNA SEQUENCED IN UPCOMING GENETICS STUDY
Five-Year Genome Study Yields Evidence of Homo sapiens/Unknown Hominin Hybrid Species in North America

Contact: Robin Lynne, media@dnadiagnostics.com, 231.622.5362

DALLAS, Nov. 24--A team of scientists can verify that their 5-year long DNA study, currently under peer-review, confirms the existence of a novel hominin hybrid species, commonly called “Bigfoot” or “Sasquatch,” living in North America. Researchers’ extensive DNA sequencing suggests that the legendary Sasquatch is a human relative that arose approximately 15,000 years ago as a hybrid cross of modern Homo sapiens with an unknown primate species.

The study was conducted by a team of experts in genetics, forensics, imaging and pathology, led by Dr. Melba S. Ketchum of Nacogdoches, TX. In response to recent interest in the study, Dr. Ketchum can confirm that her team has sequenced 3 complete Sasquatch nuclear genomes and determined the species is a human hybrid:

“Our study has sequenced 20 whole mitochondrial genomes and utilized next generation sequencing to obtain 3 whole nuclear genomes from purported Sasquatch samples. The genome sequencing shows that Sasquatch mtDNA is identical to modern Homo sapiens, but Sasquatch nuDNA is a novel, unknown hominin related to Homo sapiens and other primate species. Our data indicate that the North American Sasquatch is a hybrid species, the result of males of an unknown hominin species crossing with female Homo sapiens.

Hominins are members of the taxonomic grouping Hominini, which includes all members of the genus Homo. Genetic testing has already ruled out Homo neanderthalis and the Denisova hominin as contributors to Sasquatch mtDNA or nuDNA. “The male progenitor that contributed the unknown sequence to this hybrid is unique as its DNA is more distantly removed from humans than other recently discovered hominins like the Denisovan individual,” explains Ketchum.

“Sasquatch nuclear DNA is incredibly novel and not at all what we had expected. While it has human nuclear DNA within its genome, there are also distinctly non-human, non-archaic hominin, and non-ape sequences. We describe it as a mosaic of human and novel non-human sequence. Further study is needed and is ongoing to better characterize and understand Sasquatch nuclear DNA.”

Ketchum is a veterinarian whose professional experience includes 27 years of research in genetics, including forensics. Early in her career she also practiced veterinary medicine, and she has previously been published as a participant in mapping the equine genome. She began testing the DNA of purported Sasquatch hair samples 5 years ago.

Ketchum calls on public officials and law enforcement to immediately recognize the Sasquatch as an indigenous people:

“Genetically, the Sasquatch are a human hybrid with unambiguously modern human maternal ancestry. Government at all levels must recognize them as an indigenous people and immediately protect their human and Constitutional rights against those who would see in their physical and cultural differences a ‘license’ to hunt, trap, or kill them.”

Full details of the study will be presented in the near future when the study manuscript publishes.

Ok, ok I won't take this off track any further. What I will say on the subject, is that if Bigfoot does exist, I hope they never find him/her/them. The only reason they managed to survive this long is because they were smart enough to stay the hell away from the rest of us filthy animals. :spliff:

I read all those articles you linked and not one of them offered any scientidic evidence against the study. They don't like the source, and the fact you have to shell out $30 to buy it, but they don't debunk the science, you can't. This is "forensic" quality evidence. That means it would stand up in court. A whole different standard than the scientific method "norm" . . .

I merely wanted to point out the way in which the information was published.

It was published that way because the "scientific" journals are afraid to touch this. The only objection they all had was "The samples MUST be contaminated" Well, I listened to about 6 hours of interviews with Dr. Ketchum, its like this. The labs (like crime labs) and universities (like Texas A&M) have these DNA machines that give a confidence rating of the integrity of the sample using replication. Anything above 80 is considered good enough to convict in a court of law or proof positive. Her samples had an integrity score of 88.

There simply has been NO objection yet raised that hasn't been answered in her paper, its just no one wants to listen right now.

I could be wrong, but I think the scientific community would welcome the discovery of a new species. Especially one that is supposedly so closely related to our own. A discovery of that magnitude would be something many would want a share of I would think.

There would be a LOT of ramifications if we did discover an actual "bigfoot" as opposed to just ancestral DNA of it. Would we treat them as people? Give them rights and protections? Are they just animals like chimpanzees?

i'd imagine depending on how smart they are... they'd at least get treated like chimps i'd imagine.. they are endangered so they are protected.. but rights? maybe haha. really though they'd probably get treated like an alien would haa
