Da Buddha

Vapor Dreams
Hello! I have received my syster´s buddha for a try and it vapes wonderfully! I noticed that the ceramic heater is a bit loose and makes a ticking noise when transporting. Maybe some loose screw or it is just that way? If it is some defect: could I repair it myself?

Add: It worked great but the last two loads I have made have burnt at 12 o´clock It is strange i will keep trying

jardri,
Try 11 0'clock. Also are you stiring the bowl between every couple of hits? If you do not stir there will be burnt spots. If your screen has a resin ring around it that will restrict airflow and cause burning too.

Im not sure about the "ticking" sound. My ceramic piece is loose in the sense that it can be pushed pulled and slightly moved.

Thank you Entheogenesis it was the screen! I am using a new one and I hadn´t burnt it bright red before putting in the mouthpiece so everything just melted around. What you describe is exactly what happens to my Buddha hehe much more comfortable now the ticking dissapeared when I pushed the ceramic down a little ;-)

I have noticed that when I use the Buddha a lot of particles run into my throat. I changed the screen for a thinner one but this problem persists. I only use it with water because of it. Does it happen to any of you? I have tried grinding a little the herbs but that wasn´t the problem too. Maybe too much airflow but vapor production is fine.. ¿?

jardri,
are you sure that your really getting your screen in there right? I have noticed it isn't always the easiest getting the screen in completely straight and that would mean the edges would be lifted slightly and therefore allowing material to get through. After I used it for a little while the build up would eventually stop the bits from coming through.

Thanks! It was that! I thought it would be a nice idea to dome the screen

Question for you guys!

I just get back to vaping , and.. I'm a big fan of tokin daily, I heard him a lot talk about the flavors he got from different strains with the SSV.

I own Da buddha, and.. I have access to a lot of strain, flavors, scent.. but, EVERY weed is tasting the same in da buddha, even with a fresh new tubing/wand. Am I the only one who find that?

Where do you set the dial?

maybe you have it set too high, but honestly i can't see how at the max temp a green load inside a clean wand/whip would taste the same (with different strains). they woundnt taste the same if you combusted em, so why would they taste the same if you burnt them:2c:

I set it to 12oclock. And I don't think it's too high! For me, it all taste the same.. I'm a heavy smoker, so I maybe take big hits! lol

Everyone is different, but I find the best flavor at lower settings, like 10 o'clock. You dont get as much visible vapor, but the taste is much cleaner. Also, taking big rips is counterproductive to vaporizing since hitting hard cools the heating element. You might try hitting it more slowly.

hoptimum,
Anyone have experience with the vapor tamers 7th Floor sells? I've got an inline bubbler I usually use with my Buddha, but I thought this might be a nice addition to my collection. How do you like using it with the mouthpiece you can buy with it? How do you can compare it to a bubbler? Does the glycerin stay cold for a good while? Thanks for any input you can provide.

TheDudeNextDoor,
I like it but I don't think its as good as a bubbler. Just get an ash catcher and a j-hook and away you go!

I like the Vaper Tamer very much... much better than a bubbler. It does not filter your resins and oils up against the walls of the tamer like it does when using water, ,and the flavor, although cooled 100% is full and rich.. and not "washed out"

Interesting. How long does the glycerine stay cold before you have to refreeze? Any chance it would stay cool for an entire evening's worth of session or does it "melt" (not sure what the term would be) quickly like ice?

TheDudeNextDoor,
Okay, that's not too bad!

How about this, though: Will the vapor tamer "tame" the vapor even if the glycerin isn't cold?
