In the market for a new vape.

I’ve been out of the ‘looking for a new vape’ scene for a while now, but I’m back! My lady and I are looking for a new home vape. We’ve owned a number of vapes over the years (see my signature below) but I think that our favorite vaporizer has been the Silver Surfer. We were quite the fans of the temperature control, glass, and amount of vapor it produces. After owner a number of vapes, I’ve begun to appreciate the ability to finely tune the temperature during a little session. I’ve been using a log vape for a while now and one thing I’m not totally crazy about is how it gets too warm eventually, causing your herb to toast up a bit too quickly.

So, essentially, I’m in the market for a new vape. I kinda like the looks of the Vapexhale and the LSV, but I’m also considering getting a new SSV. What do you guys think?

do you vape with glass? if so, what do you have for glass? if not, do you want to?

and what's your budget?

I used to vape with glass. I used to rock a zob or similarish beaker styled bong with my old surfer. I think it's time to retire the log cape. I'm getting a lot of pressure from the ol lady to upgrade our home setup. I kinda like the looks of the vapexhale but wanted to hopefully get some thoughts from folks here about it outside of the vapexhale-specific thread. the price point is higher than say a SSV. Anyone have/use both a SSV and the Vapexhale?

I have been using an Underdog. It's a great vape but I guess I'm missing the whip + temp control. Or at least my girlfriend is.

I have both but haven't used the SSV since getting the Cloud. I think you'd have to really like the ergonomics of the SSV and not care about taste to use it, vs. the Cloud. VapeXhale is the company, not the vape. They'll surely be introducing another model one of these days. If price and/or durability is a big factor though, the SSV pulls ahead. The glass on that one is much cheaper to replace, should you have an accident. The LSV is basically an SSV/DBV, used as a wand with glass, so only differs in ergonomics and glass vs. tubing.

If I had to give up my Cloud I'd probably still keep the SSV on the shelf and use my e-nano with all glass vapor tube. It provides free flowing big hits, even with an added screen, AND temp control. SSV hits would be cooler, due to the tubing, but more unpredictable.

Thanks for the info, Max. One of the things my girlfriend noted was the temperature of the vape. She prefers the longer whip for the slightly cooler temps once the vape enters "the system". Do you really find the SSV to have 'a taste'? I never noticed one in the past, but yeah, different vapes had slightly different flavors to them depending on materials etc.

If she's concerned about smoothness, I would definitely go with the cloud with tube. The EV-2 is a great upgrade if you want to keep with the log vapes, and will cost about half as much as a cloud without a tube. Its got an all glass airpath, comes with a whip and EL bowl similar to the EQ, can get a glass direct draw stem for $13, and Ace Of Vape will include an extra el-bowl to attatch to your waterpipe if you already have one. It has a boost mode, can be left on all the time, and has adjustable temperature on the bottom. If your wife wants smoothness your best bet is putting the vapor through water, but the EV-2 will give you all of these options. Cloud is great, but its a young company, and there is a Cloud Plus coming out, so even if you decide on it, make sure you wait for the new version.

Edit: and the E-nano is great, I'm ordering one myself, gunna set you back till the first or second week of march though if you hop on the list now.

EDIT: If you use the code FCLOVE, you get 15% off, so with the whole ev-2 setup + direct draw stem, it's only going to cost you a little less than $225, just make sure you ask him for an extra El-bowl for your waterpipe. The Nano can be picked up with the GonG with build in screen for a little under $200 with the code. If it's you and your wife and you like to smoke a lot, I would go with the EV-2

I think it is between the SSV or the LSV + wpa + whip.

The Cloud is a good investment if you can spare the money in terms of best experience vapor-wise. In terms of handling, there is some care and attention needed when using and handling. I would wait for the 2.0 version, there should be some news on the 18th.

The EpicVapes are nice but the EV2 has no temp control and the e-nano has no whip.

The minivap is a portable if you get with battery included and its hand held, priced liked the Cloud and with a close performance in many variables according to the ones who own it.

Other than that, the main developments have been in the portable front.

The EV-2 does have temperature control, it is just on the bottom of the unit and has to be turned with the E-pic, you basically have to find your desired spot, and the boost mode seems to be pretty popular at least when trying to heat it up quicker.

From what I read I believe they own the SSV. If youre willing to spend the money and it is not an issue, I agree with vor the cloud will outperform pretty much anything except for the minivap which many people who own both units say they are about equally as good.

There's nothing that says you can't put a long piece of tubing/whip on an UD. I believe that somewhere in the UD thread there's a pic of someone using an extra-long piece of tubing because they wanted to use it like a whip (or at least mention of someone doing that). There's also a thread somewhere around here that's all about where to buy tubing and what brands/types are best. And a variable voltage power supply will give you temp control. :2c: I'm not knocking any of the other options---lots of good vapes out there--but if you want to save money, that would be a cheaper option.

On the other hand, if you can (financially/politically) get away with saying to your significant-other something along the lines of "So the experts on FC say that we really should get a Cloud...", then count me in that group of "experts" that say it's your best option.

I understood he owned a SSV but not anymore. And i forgot about the ability to change in the bottom, not very pratical though. It seems that it was made to find your temperature and keep it there, instead of using it as a knob.

Algebraist, i read the posts twice already and i think we pretty much debunked your doubts . What say you?

haha whoops! Yes, the list of capes in my signature are capes that I used to own. I think we're gonna go back to SSV country. I have fond memories of pulling wildly thick hits of vapor, a cool draw etc. though, I must admit I am curious about the cloud, but we have cats and they'd probably zero in on the 600 dollar cape setup and knock it over

@placetime
Sounds like you arenREALLY liking your cloud. I must admit. The glass, water vale setup is pretty amazing and I will probably end up in the virtual line to get the next varient

I think it will be nice to return home. ;) And the Cloud's will be waiting for us when you decide to fly over there.

Actually, never tried a Cloud. I'm just going by all the glowing reviews I've seen. I do love my logs though (CRZ, UD, HotPod).
