I have been lurking here for a while but I just created an account because I had to interject here. When I bought a Persei a few weeks back and one of the first things I did was find this thread and read the ENTIRE thing. Most of my questions were answered and I learned quite a bit, improving my experience greatly I would imagine. Bigreed, I suggest you spend a little time researching before coming here and ruffling feathers. Also, your determination to make this issue a public affair when it has been discussed 100x is a bit baffling.

As many members have pointed out, the best way to get your answers is contacting D9 directly. They can tell you what is in the carts and more than likely assist with getting you a working one. They have been EXTREMELY helpful in my direction when I needed help.

My personal recommendation would be to get a 7.4 Hercules. They don't clog, you can take huge rips and there is no metallic taste. It is a great investment.

Also, to all the other members here, hello! Sorry to spend my first post getting involved in a debate.

does the persei only work for concentrates or does it also work for herbs? im confused, if you buy it just the way it is for 199.99, can you vape herbs in it or will that require a attachment or what? and if you can put herbs in it, how do you do it?

I've already got the bender. Is the herc really not going to do herbs well after the upgrades? So the current one on the site for $90 is probably not worth it for me if I'm not planning on using anything but herbs and bubble for now?
i have run full melt thru my herc without issue. it takes a while to go thru and like greens requires fluffing and stirring and the like. from the way i understand the differences between them, bubble hash has too much plant matter for the herc to do as well as it does the full melt. dubcrider recommends vaping greens without the tank, just loose around the heater core, which for me would make too much mess in there, but if you're so inclined, have at it!

ok lets see if i can help work this out.

in the beginning, there was the omicron and it was good, but g was not finished and on the second day, opened the heavens and brought down the persei, with its mutliple voltages and double head and everyone was well pleased. and for an eternity (about two months) all was good in heaven, but G, in his infinite wisdom and omniscience realized that the persei was still able to do more and so created the hammer and bender attachments so that his people could worship at the green altar AND the oil altar. and we were well pleased, but G was still not thru showering us with blessings. yes the persei is able to handle multiple voltages, but batteries need to be changed and so we were given the iris to to help us manage voltage and we were given the hercules to blow our minds in vapor and we are pleased (even tho there were a few rough spots with the herc). but still G keeps us moving forward, never resting. today its the nibbler; a bubbler attachment for a CARTRIDGE, tomorrow? i don't know but i'm looking forward to finding out.

so think of the persei as the swiss army knives of oil vapes with new blades added on all the time and to directly answer your question, no, the $200 persei won't vape greens out of the box. the BEST bet for that is to get the hammer attachment and the bender with it. personally i don't use flower all that much, so i don't have a bender yet (i do have a hammer), but i do plan on getting one in the not too distant future, but the general consensus is that the bender has some of the best taste of ANY portable greens vaporizer.

does that clarify things for you?

I can't get over the fact that my 150$-250$ device isn't usable with out a 90-180$ attachment. I dont feel that fiberglass and a wire heating element is safe to burn my errl with or safe or inhale short or long term..

So why did you buy it? Did you not research what it was first?

You should probably just sell it at this point based on your responses. It's clear the device works and you do not like the cart construction. I sold my solo when I decided I hated its design and was unhappy with the materials etc.

I don't think there are going to be any words that anyone here can say to change how you feel about your carts. You have 2 options really, sell it all, or buy some attachment you do like.

I guess a third would be go back to the carts you WERE happy with?

I'm just gonna hang around to kindly answer questions for new people so someone else doesn't have to feel the way I do.

No I didn't rear thru 2 400 page threads or search the internet for days. I believe someone (my fault) when they claimed this product was different and safe. Its in no way different then my 5$ gastation ecig element and can't be any safer to huff on. I was indeed blinded by the awesomness showing all my friends everyone's all jealous and now this horrible smell and taste has been the biggest slap in the face

Tbh its not the fact that one cart or the other made me happy. Its that I cant in my right mind huff on a heating wire wrapped in chinese fiberglass. Thats seriously an option? I want clean tasty vapes for my 150$-200$ not the option to spend another 100-180$ to be satisfied thats some capitalist crap

You have been warned once to stop this vein of posting. If you have concerns that the members here haven't answered, you need to contact the manufacturer.

As far as you "hanging around to kindly answer questions," I think you will find that we are not going to tolerate further bashing of this company. And you've made it very clear already that this is not the vape for you.

K so I can't reply to someone talking at me? Or I can't voice how I feel?

I'm not bashing anything Sr simply sharing my experience shock and disbelief with a vape community.

I guess the warning I should of gotten is "if your not swinging nuts gtfo"

Its very tough to be against a particular vape here and not break the rules. I do feel for you that you are less than happy. Personally I'm not much of a cart person myself, even if I had the oil to use in them I'd only use 1-2 carts and then switch to the herc.

I got my persei JUST to use it with the bender, everything else being a bonus. You already have the powerplant, now just get the appropriate herb/oil vape that suits your needs. If you have any unused carts just sell those to eat some of the cost. The herc is only like $80 for the 3.7v version I believe, and it sounds like it might be EXACTLY what you are looking for. If not then the persei is a very popular vape and you should have no problem selling it. If you bought it somewhere reputable maybe they will even do a partial return or something, since they obviously don't want used carts or mouthpieces back.

I really think you just need a different attachment for it. I understand that you don't want to pay extra for it, but its no secret what comes with the base kit. I always research what a vape is made out of before I buy it now. I had to learn the hard way as well. The bottom line is the power part of the persei is awesome. The carts may or may not be your thing, but the hercules seems to be exactly what you wanted. It has many advantages over the carts, and I think you'd enjoy it.

You are one scary person!
I have my device for Flowers.
I have my device for concentrates.
The first PERSEI was disappointing because of the failed cart from my first experience.
When "OF" directed me to the 2.4 carts this changed the game for me.
I then bought a second PERSEI so I could use CO2 WAX in one and BHO (well purged) in another.
When I was wood working I had many routers with different bits to save time.
Now I have Two PERSEI's set up and plus I have the SS Kit set up.
Plus the HERCULES that just cranks!
I have two of them.
One for each PERSEI.

Your not going to change my mind with your rant about a 1.5 cart that failed.

Growing up in the surfing community I'm kind of a side liner vaping while smoking joints is still the method most use. Cost in use for Vaping is still cheaper than a $1.00 pack of papers.
1 OZ last me 3 months while my surfer friends go through a 1 OZ in Three weeks.

I cough like crazy so I have to vape.

Maybe just go back to aluminum foil and a fast food straw for concentrates?
Cheaper and effective.
However the straw might be from China?
Rolling papers are only a $1.00 a pack!

Vaping isn't for everyone I guess?

The new Double top works splendidly. I am currently running two 1.5 Ohm carts and using 2 batteries at 3V each (total of 6V). I am using the Ultrafire 3.2V batteries, lowered to 3V each. The double clouds are unreal. I am about to let it rip at 6.4V!

As long as I have been here, I have reported 2 posts (both for spam)... and otherwise have never pushed a report button. You, Sr... have had me leaning on that button for 48 hours.... The squeaky wheel does not always get lubricated... it often gets recycled~

You should go back and read the threads, tons of info on materials used. You must be basing your findings off of the old ThermoVape video of them dismantling a cart and calling stuff plastic and fiberglass to glorify theirs. Here is what the inside of a new/old cart posted a while ago for anyone to see. There are no secrets here and hopefully people will read through your slandering.

The seals are made from the same stuff as the mouthpieces, the wicks are silica, and the rest is metal. Running the carts empty/dry, even when oil is inside, will cause a metallic taste. Put a pan on your stove and heat it up empty, how does it smell?

I love this set up:

2 x 1.5 carts with 2 x 3.0V batteries.
Looks like it's time to reload with some GIRL SCOUT COOKIES WAX.

Thank you for the inspiration![/quote]

I need some help, I just purchased my persei at a local head shop yesterday... After letting the batteries charge and setting everything up it seems as if something is wrong with my normal single cart head. As soon as I screw it on the blue light turns on and won't turn off. But sometimes it won't and as soon as I set it down the light comes back on. Is there a way to fix this or does it look like I'm gonna have to send it in for a replacement

It sounds like a problem head, but the bit about responding to being put down makes me wonder if the spring is adjusted correctly? You may have a strange contact issue going on???

Normally I'd say 'take it back to the shop for replacement', your call, sometimes that's how broken stuff gets into 'new boxes' even. You can send it to D9 who will promptly replace it (you can use the dual with one cart until then) but the serial numbers will no longer match nor line up with the logo if that sort of stuff matters to you?

Good luck resolving it, you'll like Persei I bet.......

Is there a way to manually adjust the spring... And would that void the warranty? I'm getting my ejuice tank today for it.mmcits sure gonna look funky on that double top lol. And is there any news on when the iris is coming out for everyone? That's one attachment that is an absolute must have

Sure. Take off the tube and bottom cover. There's a spring plate under the cover with two holes in it. There's a key in the kit to adjust the plate. You want to adjust it so the top of the battery is about even with the top of the tube. I like to use the plate to run the battery all the way up when the tube is back on (taking all the slack out) then back it off about 1.5 turns.

I understand the double top will look funny, but it will work.......

Good luck.

To Boldly Go Where No One Has Gone Before
Manufacturer
Lets get started. The cartridges itself are safe as when the FDA had issues with this type of device they never had issues with the parts inside only with the liquid. The unit has Silica Wick made from the same material as fire fighters jackets. They are designed to be inert and will not influence the taste at all. Most of the issues caused with the taste on the 1.5 ohms is because someone has over used it and burned up the essential oil, the other possible causes are your essential oil not being high quality thus leaving particles behind that get charged or burned. The cartridges are designed for 1 time use but many people have gotten about 3-5 grams used per cart. The 1.5's are designed for vapor production and sacrifice taste a little bit because it heats up much faster and past the point of vaporization, when someone who is not aware about voltages ohms and current this can be a little bit hard to grasp but easy to teach when the right questions are asked.

Now Vito to your issue about the tops, this happens to both tops or only one?
It happens to all cartridges used or only one?
