Hi everyone I was advised to post a thread in here. You all have been so helpful so far. I was talked into purchasing an atmos raw and I hate it. It broke after a month. Now I want a new vaporizer but I think I need to do my research first, haha. I would prefer something portable if possible. Something that the heating element won't break after a month like it did with my atmos raw. Other than that I have no other requirements. The lower the price the better, I guess. Something that's easy to use. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks so much!

+1 on the solo. It is my "first" vape and I love it. Not as portable as some of the newer portables, but the price, function, and reliability makes it a no-brainer. You can grab a new one for $160. It is a great starting point that will def. keep you happy for a while, at least.
I expected to use it as my home unit and get another for portable use, but this one has me satisfied for now. I've had it around 3 weeks, give or take. I plan to use it exclusively and wait to see how the newer generation of portables shape up over the next 6-12 months.
Others to consider: The Inhalater XP (seems like my next purchase) looks awesome and the Da vinci Ascent looks good too (Iphone sized). Also, there is the Pax (Ipod sized) and E-nano (small plug-in). I suggest to read the threads and ask questions...the owners can def. point you in the right direction once you narrow down to two or three units.

Tell us a bit more about how you intend on using it...do you need something you can toss in a small pocket, or mainly something you can carry over to a friends house? How heavy of a user are you? What is your budget exactly? Herbs or herbs and oils/concentrates? Fill us in so we can help you better 
Sorry, good point. I would like something I can bring to a friends house. Doesn't necessarily need to fit in a pocket. I probably use it twice to three times a day. And I use dry herbs. E-Nano if youre going to go with a desktop plugin. Solo if you want something you can plugin but also can sneak into a bathroom and get a few hits in. Desktops will always hit better, and the log vapes seem to have a really good rep around here. From the vapes I've had available to review so far, I'm really impressed overall with the Pax. You're paying $250 for a vape, so you'll have to baby it and clean it constantly... but the clouds are really satisfying for a portable, battery lasts long, and it is very portable. I'd also recommend the FlashVAPE. check out some YouTube reviews and make sure to watch the video on the "Stage 2" upgrade kit. Kind of lame that you have to buy it separate, but it gets some major vapor for a portable.

I can'thtink of any portable box vapes off the top of my head. For a box vape I would go with daBuddha (not a box vape, but the same function, cheap and long-lasting with a very satisfying hit. my local store owner can't keep them in stock.)
For you, I would recommend either a log vape like the e-nano or the Solo. What you will love about the Solo is the quality of the vapor, the extreme ease of use, and it's portability. It's one of my wife's favorite vapes in my collection. I really think you will be very happy with it. When I have to share, it's what I reach for as well.

The DBV, although much more sturdy than a typical box vape, does use the basic whip method and is just a progression on box vape design. I'd recommend that or the more expensive (with denser hits) SSV for a box/whip model. You can't get the big, free flowing hits of a full sized home vape with a portable. The Solo is a great 'in between' portable, but you'll get restricted vapor draws in comparison, and pocket portables are even more of a compromise, hit wise.
I own both the Pax and the FVS2. In my opinion, the FV ($129) plus the S2 kit ($39) blows the Pax away in terms of flavour and stash conservation, is at least equal in terms of cloud production, is practically maintenance-free compared to constant fiddling, and costs $80 less. The huge bowl makes it a good device for sharing, and the FVS2 is forgiving and easy for novices to learn. Anyone who likes the SSV should watch Vito's video to see the potential of the FVS2 for cloud production.
The Pax wins on pocketability. Also on marketing hype.
I think using "lame" to describe the separate purchase for the S2 kit is a bit unfair. The S2 kit was just announced and FlashVAPE has said that they're in the process of deciding how to present the product to market.

Paka...one of the reasons I like to recommend the Solo to new vaporists is its ease of use. It's brainless and anyone can get hooked on vapor with it.
The FV seems perfect for sharing with its big load. Do you think, with the S2, that it is pretty easy for beginners? I'll develop my own opinion once I get it in, but what say you?

Yes, I do. The learning curve with the FV had to do with the amount of power it delivered in conduction mode combined with how fast it did it. If you weren't careful then you got combustion. With the S2 kit, this problem is diminished to the point of no concern. As I mentioned in the FV thread, I loaded the FVS2 bowl with ABV and then just held the power button to see how long it would take to hit combustion with no air movement: ~12 seconds! Of course if you were pulling then it would take longer.
Actually, Paka is correct. The Stage-2 kit really does make the FV very easy to use for the newcomer. For what it's worth, I have not used my Solo since getting my FV. The fast heat up time is nice, and the flavour is equal to if not better than Solo now that the Stage-2 kit makes it a convection device...user replaceable batteries, tough as nails...is it too late to change my recommendation?

Is the draw technique with the S2 as brainless as the Solo? With the Solo you just suck...pretty simple instructions.
I am getting the feeling that the FVS2 is going to be for me, I just wonder (having not used it yet) how beginner friendly it will be.
