Denver/Boulder Members: Who sells best concentrates?

I'm new top the state, new to the MMJ scene, and new to vaporizing.

I have a new Thermovape Cera (essential oil) on the way and am trying to find other local members who have begun (and maybe finished?) their quest too find the best quality extracts in the area. Lets discuss best value as well.

I am back and forth between Denver and Boulder a lot, but reside in Denver. So far i have tried pink house in Denver and trill in boulder. Both were alright, but trill gets the upper hand imo based on flower quality. From pink house, i found a few seeds in their signature, highly touted, and highest priced strain "Super Silver Haze".

Thanks in advance.

Isn't CO2 Oil from Organalabs from Colorado?
Their sour diesel is insane

:love::doh::bang::horse::cuss: Patients... your time will come... some day you will see this in your area

:science::whoa::smug: and we're back...

so will retailers be completely open to the public in CO or will there be some kind of special state residency only clause, cause i'm game for a road trip in the future.

So is organalabs just something you've tried, or is it one of the consensus best out there in the dispensary world? Ill definitely look it up, thanks.

Id imagine state.ID would be required but they're still working on the details of the law so its not known yet.

I'd just like to point out that in the past, we would not have allowed a thread like this to exist. Since amilehigh is in Colorado we know that he's not looking for a connection (something that we have a zero-tolerance policy against) but this sort of topic was too risky for us to allow even for a MMJ state .

Now that CO is enlightened and cannabis is legal for adults, we decided that it's time to move forward. We're pleased that this is a ground-breaking thread for FC. This can be a good source of information for people in CO, and I say "in CO" because I hope that there won't be any residency requirement. I mean really, the tourist industry would be furious, don't you think?

Dixie hands down in my opinon. they recently got co2 extraction and they have it down to a sweet science. they are some fine folks. i do believe that Trill houses lots of Dixie products. but regardless of oil brand make sure it is purged i am not a fan of inhaling solvents I know dixie uses a sweet vacum chamber to purge with.

side note sooo jealous your cera is in state, i am waiting on mine still and want to switch to only co2 earls. Welcome to this beautiful state!

Thanks. My Cera probably won't be here until the end of the month at the earliest. Trill does carry a lot of Dixie products, and because i love their edibles so much, I'll keep my eyes peeled for their co2 oil. I don't think trill Carries it right now, though. I know they carry HMI (herbal medical institute) Red Dragon co2 oil as well as a "Blue Dragon" (higher CBD i think). I haven't found any reviews of this stuff but maybe its good?

Edit: Complete noob when it comes to extracts. How could i find out if its purged? What does that mean? All i know is that co2 oil is the purest, cleanest thing i can use with my cera. Butane oils would work too, i think, but its not as clean right? I'm sure all this is covered elsewhere but i couldn't find a "oils and extracts for dummies" thread.

Absolute best oil I've had was from Greenest Green here in Boulder. It's called Lemon OG and tastes amazing; only downside is it costs 70 bucks a gram. It's delicious, but not really worth it IMO. However, most of the oil at Greenest Green is $50 or less. The Farm and Root Organic (both in Boulder) and Green Dream (in Gunbarrel) also have good concentrates.

Purged simply refers to the removal of butane from the oil. It's usually hard to tell if dispensary oil is well purged [without tasting] since the majority of butane has been removed. I've found that most dispensary oil is, on average, purged to a satisfactory level. It's really only an issue when you get into cheaper stuff (<$25/gram)

So being completely purged would only apply to butane oil then if I'm not mistaken... Since the co2 method is solventless. I assume the co2 oil would be more expensive than butane oil, but by how much? Would it generally be more potent then? Are the differences noticeable or is it more of a "piece of mind" type of thing just knowing you're not risking smoking heavy metals, etc?

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the tips. My friend goes to The Farm a lot so I'll check that out.

Edit: Id like to find more "strain specific" oils for my vape. To me one of the most enjoyable aspects of smoking is trying different strains and id hope not to lose that by vaping oils.

FWIW the organalabs syringes (yes hash oil in a syringe plunger) have been going for $30/half $50/g with very strong smell/flavor, so not overpurged. My sour diesel CO2 and 007 OG CO2 are very very different. The sour diesel is runnier than PureGold while the OG is extremely thick.

Wish I could explain this raw vs refined checkbox in this picture. Never see an option at the dispensary

Could be wrong, but should be able to purge away any chemical solvent you use, unless you're doing solventless extraction.

That's correct, CO2 oil doesn't need to be purged. As for pricing, it's about $40-70 gram. The company who makes it and the dispensary that sells it account for the wide price range. I can't really say if CO2 is any more potent, but the stuff I've had definitely doesn't taste as good as BHO, which also gives you many more strain specific options. I never understood the appeal of CO2, but I imagine it certainly gives some people a "peace of mind"

I bet that's tasty oil! The CO2 I've had didn't have any of the original flower smell/taste remaining. Also, it's possible to completely purge, but impossible to verify it without expensive lab testing

Co2 is more expensive. It doesn't taste as good. It's less potent. People are paying for that piece of mind.

RockBudder from river rock wellness. Best concentrate without a doubt.
budder? like canna butter? its okay to smoke that?

Thanks all for your suggestions. I dont think we've had one brand recommended more than once so i guess the only thing to do is try them all and decide for myself! For those of you who have made recommendations, have you tried a lot of other brands? Any to stay away from?

Thanks for clearing that up. Sounds like I shouldn't just be looking for co2 oil, but rather some good butane oil. Taste is somewhat important to me and as i said id like to have strain specific oils, so that makes the choice easier.

Did the sour diesel have any flavor to it?

Does everyone tend to agree that co2 oil has little/no taste when compared to BHO?

Definitely not canna butter. "Budder" is just a BHO consistency. Typically pliable and not so sticky you can't play around with it.

The Sour Diesel Organalabs CO2 Oil had a very strong SWEET smell and flavor. Not stronger than the strongest BHO I've smelled, but above average.

The 007 OG organalabs CO2 oil had a very different smell and was maybe 10-20% less smelly. Instead of sweet it had a musky earthy scent.

If this organalabs stuff was $70-80/g, I wouldn't be buying it. But here in SD, BHO that is under 45-50/g isn't very great. So @ $50/g, I might be getting some more soon.

WOOO YEA SON! A CO THREAD!!! FINNALY!:science: thank you pak! thank you thank you!

im in the springs, but i DO travel up to denver area all the time.

springs has its own little blasters here and there, nothing worth trying.

organalabs is the best thing in CO right now (for c02), no doubt. we also have locations that carry the "refined" option, its amazing, esp in omi carts. very expensive.

for BHO, topshelfextracts alllllday ->theherbalcure is the MMC of choice that carry's

doctors orders in denver, has 15\g on wax wed's at 8am only for members. so cheap!

Just to update everyone i have in my possession a gram of HMI Red Dragon co2 oil but haven't tried it yet.. Twiddling my thumbs until the Cera arrives.

Sounds like i Need to find and try the Organalabs co2 products and topahelfextracts BHO. Is that wax any good? I'm skeptical when its that cheap.

top shelf extracts are more commonly priced at $30+/g. that price is a special deal, and you have to be member, at least according to Xchad.

If you're ever in boulder, I recommend trying to find a copy of Rooster Magazine. The back few pages have several dozen dispensary coupons, some of which are very good deals.

hell no, TSE will never be that cheap, its always gold and worth the great price. the 15/g are such a steal, (FROM DOCTORS ORDERS, NOT TSE)usually ill buy a bunch then refine it myself and purge butane out. I hate budder/wax, so nasty

Just because its budder/wax it doesn't necessarily mean its less likely to be purged than if it was BHO oil, right? You obviously have the same feeling i had that if its that cheap you're taking a risk, seeing as you purge it again yourself. Id be really interested to know the best method to do this. Is there a thread you can point me to? Care to share your method? Thanks

budder\wax means butane was forcefully whipped INTO the concentrate, including air. If you wana share purge methods, feel free to come over and dab. :science:

so by this logic rockbudder must be filled with butane? I had the chance to try some and it was pretty tasty- plus my throat and lungs didn't notice any excessive butane harshness
