Good to know, cluffy. I might go with the mini wand with the smaller load size. I was originally thinking about getting it to use with the DBV HC, but it's even better that I can use it with the SSV HC as well. Hey, it even says so in the description, silly me. Hopefully they don't stop making them again before I can order one, lol. I'm all about smaller bowl sizes.

This might be a stupid question, but how am I going to pay for this heater cover? Since I'm doing all of this through email I'm sketched out about giving my card information out or anything like that. How does this usually work? Can I write a check and send it to them? How did you guys that did this work it out?

Vito, I had my cart full with 3 mini wands, a pack of screens and an MFLB mini grinder but it only came to $49.95. It's free shipping at $50. I was so mad I just closed the window. I'm thinking I might ask 7th floor to make me a custom mini wand when I order my Saturn. :brow:

Those mini wands are great but very fragile, I broke 2 in just over a year.

<edit>
Oh yeah, and I want a good female GonG joint that will go on the end of the tubing so I can use my flat mouthpiece without the Vapor Tamer.

oh akward, you're in for a treat. The new DBV wands have no neck and the whole airpath is wider. The saturn is the new vapor tamer and I'm pretty sure it will rule/cool the world.

At this time, there is no paypal option through 7th,floor. Writing a check poses it's own problems.
Go get a prepaid credit card, with only that amount on it.. and after your purchase destroy it.

right...i meant that some vendors on ebay set up a private "buy it now" listing for customized orders to specific customers only (happened for me twice)...i thought that 7th floor would just do the same thing & accept paypal.

i see that 7th floor sells under their own company name via ebay...

We are all like family here.
I think you should contact 7th Floor by phone.
You and I have corresponded, and your posts are well received here.
Tell them by phone, who you are, and what your FC name is and your RL (real life) name
Explain your situation, and your payment desires and concerns.
Tell them what payment situation would make you the most happy.
We have SSV Chris right here in FC, and on this thread. Why not send him an email through his profile.. and discuss your needs!

It looks like I'm going to grab the heater cover from 7th floor, and then the mini whip, replacement tubing, and screens from vapor warehouse. My DBV tubing is getting gross, so it's time to replace it. I'm going to see if I can give 7th floor my information over the phone or something because it's just easier to pull it from my main bank account.

Thanks for all the help and advice, FC rocks.

Hey all,
I got a chance to try a da buddha for a week or so, my girlfriends dad got his hands on one. It was awesome, it heated up quickly and the taste was great from what I remember. I was thinking about getting another da buddha for a friends upcoming birthday, I was curious, are the differences between the DBV and the Silver Surfer worth the price increase? The only complaint I had about da buddha was potentially having a friend accidentally exhaling into the whip and blowing herb back into the heating element. Thanks guys, this forum has always seemed to attract the most experienced vaporists. I appreciate any advice,

thanks again, uncle vito (wow, i sure do type that a lot...im considering copying it so that i can easily just paste it from now on).

i did not know that there was a 7th floor person on FC...maybe i will try that!

thanks again!

akwardsauce,
Hey guys this probably sounds stupid but I put my DBV silicone on OVER my rock and it melted slightly. I knew it would, but I am just curious as to why. I thought the silicone you guys use is good to 400 degrees?

The vapes vape weed at temps from 350 - 400.
The wand sucks that warmed air through to a whip (by then 300) and it goes through cooling very fast as it travels.
The whip is meant to be able to withstand exactly that.. hot air being drawn from 6 inches away from source... after filtering through herb.

Vitolo,
Vitolo do you assume that the inside of the DBV silicone is just as temperate as the outside? You know exactly what I am talking about since you have a RZ2, just picture slipping that silicone over the top of the SS. Why would it still melt my DBV tubing? Obviously, this isn't a problem or a concern, I am just trying to expand my know-how of different materials and how they "off-gas" if any at all.

Since no one has addressed this yet, I guess I will chime in. It's all about what's best for you. I am happy with my Buddha, but if I had the money I would've gone for the SSV. I am attracted to the more narrow air path with the SSV setup, as well as the tilted angle. I have compensated for this by propping up the back end of my Buddha and ordering an SSV heater cover.

It's all down to how picky you want to be, and what you want out of the experience. I should add that the blowback into the heating element can happen whether you have a Buddha or SSV. It sucks either way, but it happens. Combusting through the whip is even worse because then you have to clean it all out.

AMTA, you're answer is spot on. I too would opt for an SSV now that I've used the standard SSV HC. I guarantee you will love your DBV much more with your new glass. I am almost as excited as you are for you... wow, that was an odd statement. Enjoy!

The 7th Floor tubing isn't high temp silicone. It's something else... vinyl maybe... pvc... i can't remember.

WatTyler,

FLskwat

VAPOLITICS!
In fact PVC is a sort of Vinyl, and yes Wat is right: 7th Floor tubing ain't silicone but high & food grade vinyl.
I switched to silicone on day 1 and will never look back:
-High temps and freezing resistant too!
-No flavor/odor at all...
Only pros, the only con being the price of silicone vs. vinyl...

FLskwat, I believe you but it looks like there are merits for the PVC/vinyl or whatever. Wait! I don't want to start a riot but read the description here:7th floor

then read it here:
Vapeworld

"super soft silicon tubing"

I don't care one way or another. My DBV has treated me well and it gives me no worries. I just saw a difference here and had to post it.

I know and Vape World is wrong (already discussed but do not remember where...)... The 7th floor original tubing is the described food grade vinyl on their website. And yes though it collects less particulates then standard silicone...I do distinctly feel an added flavor when I use it vs. silicone. The temp resistance is much wider with silicone, and you can also find silicone with the same ability not to collect to much particulates...
Anyhow, I am not saying that 7th floor vinyl is unsafe, just that I prefer medical grade silicone! ;)

To tell you the truth I'd probably take a hit off an old radiator hose! :o <well maybe, if i was desperate... :uhoh: >

cluffy,
I much prefer the soft silicone personally, I think it tastes cleaner and doesn't kink up. I don't vape in the dirt and sand much so it doesn't get too dirty. The kinking of the stock 7th floor tubing kinking up also really had a chance to interfer with vapebonging with the DBV if new users aren't careful. Sure you can flex it against the vinyl tubing to put it in the GonG, but alot of people will forget about that tension when pulling it out and the tubing will spring back, endangerous the glass and whatever else. If anyone has a hook up on about 30 feet of the soft, good, high-temp silicone, please tell us!
