AMTA, once again (SURPISE!) I agree with Vito. I can get good hits from the DBV original GonG but it's so much easier with the standard SSV glass, probably because of the airflow as you mentioned.. I've been thinking about getting the LSV HC, transfer wand, and WPA but I'm very happy with what I have. One of the main reasons I like the standard is that the load is always accessible, so it's easier to see and stir between hits. I'm a hands-on kind of guy.

I'll bet you'll be happy whatever route you choose though. If you decide on the SSV standard try calling or emailing 7th Floor because the HC has to be made shorter and there's no longer a comment section on the order page to specify that.

Happy Vaping to All !!!!

I know there is a difference in length between the DBV and SSV heater-covers, but otherwise they should fit nicely on either vape so go for it.

No input on your other question unfortunately, but I'm sure someone else has some thoughts about that one.

i thought i read somewhere way back there that they stopped this option...can you post back here if they actually do let you convert to the SSV modifications? thanks!

They DID stop doing it, but they had a change of heart I guess. Sunsett70 (btw, where is he?) got one in June and I got one in July. GO FOR IT! :brow:

I saw someone in the SSV thread bought an LSV heater cover and glass wand for his SSV. Will the LSV heater cover also fit on Da Buddha? I was originally going to try the SSV heater cover/whip with my Buddha, but GonG seems like a better option. I love my DBV, but the hits just aren't thick enough for my liking. Too much air, not enough vapor. So I'm looking to improve upon it now.

I've had the unit for a year or so, and so I am familiar with the ins-and-outs of breathing technique and temperature. I've done plenty of reading around FC. Maybe I'm still not using my DBV right, but I've noticed in my extensive use of a friend's Vapor Brothers, I get thicker and more consistent hits than with my Buddha. I would assume the larger tubing/wand with the DBV is the contributing factor? This is part of the reason I am attracted to the SSV setup because of its smaller air path combined with a presumably smaller bowl.

Input?
How high do you run your Da Buddha? Like where do you set your knob?

I hope you realize that the dial setting has nothing to do with the temp, since you can position the knob to turn the vape on at Noon if you want. When the DBV first came out, for some reason many units were shipped with knob positions that made a 5 o'clock setting a mid range temp, = to what we'd been seeing for the SSV at a 12 o'clock setting. Although the 'standard' dial position should be one where the unit turns on at 7-8 o'clock, that's not always the case. And two different units that both turn on at the same dial setting may still not have the same exact temp at Noon.

OK so I own an SSV, have tested all 7th floor products as I am their exclusive french distributor and I will second everything here...nothing will give ME (therefore personal opinion) the alike smoking satisfaction (air/vapor ratio is the key here for the SSV domination IMO) + easiness to use + the ERGONOMIC MASTERPIECE impression as my SSV with standard cover does...:2c:

Oh yea I forgot about that. Mine is normal and clicks on right at like 7 or so. But I crank mine to full blast and hit it really hard and fast so that the air flow cools it down to normal temp and I get huge vapor clouds in a matter of seconds. Maybe this is what he needs to do to achieve these huge hits that he will like. I know I can get 20 huge(I mean huge cougher hits) hits out of my da buddha doing it this way and I usually pack around .1, doesn't even register on my scale.

Hey guys, thanks for all the feedback on the vapor tamer! Im goingto order it right away. Im totally in love with the DBV. I think it's my new best friend as I have been spending so much time with it I almost feel bad for my other toys.

Being that I trust all of your opinions I have a few questions.

1. Where is everyone finding the sweet spot as far as temp? If the bud is on the drier side I am setting around 60% and even at that I am almost combusting. When my bud is pretty moist I am going with slightly higher but I notice it dries it quick. I am loving the effect but would like to hear from my brethrin about their comfort zone.

2. Is is normal that the glass heater cover moves from side to side while in session. When using the standard whip the gong seems to move with me as opposed to staying stationary in middle.

3. Last but not least, after cleaning my whip and attachements it seems to be a b#tch getting the tube back into the wand. Any tips? Lube maybe? lol

#1 I vape at pretty low temps myself
#2 yes
#3 I actually dip the tube and wand in water and it just slides right in there

On #3.. I just wipe it down with Iso on a cloth.. and with Unit OFF and cool do same to inside of HC orifice.
I find a grain or 2 of herb stuck in there, flattens, and becomes like one with the glass... similar to what occurs on the slide surface of our grinders!

Like I said above I always(no matter how wet or dry my weed is) crank mine to full blast and it it like a champ. The other day we pulled a bud right off the plant and throw it in there. After about 3 hits we finally started to produce vapor and then it lasted just like a normal bowl. So I have come to the conclusion that you don't even have to cure your bud anyone lol. Not really but
2. Is is normal that the glass heater cover moves from side to side while in session. When using the standard whip the gong seems to move with me as opposed to staying stationary in middle.
Yea mine does that but it isn't too too loose. I don't lock my bowl into the heater cover anymore because I pull it out after my hit to clear the whip.
3. Last but not least, after cleaning my whip and attachements it seems to be a b#tch getting the tube back into the wand. Any tips? Lube maybe? lol
I just shove it in there. The best time to do it is when its nice and warm. But I usually just get some of it in there and just push like hell. I even use plumbing tubing instead of the food grade stuff which is actually a little less movable.

VapeNStone,
Hey whats up everyone, just wanted to say thanks for all the information. I had been looking at places and hearing about how some sites were scams/facades by vape companies and i finally ran across this site :)

Probably going to be getting the DBV, its in my price range fits my needs (usually only toke with me or a friend not a big group).

I used to have a hotbox which i liked but im looking for something with a temp control. :D
I'll be sure to post a review of what i think and compare it to my hotbox experience (and ive used a volcano a couple times).

Anyway just wanted to thank you all for the awesome info/reviews on here!!!

SWED!
Hmmm actually i guess it should be VWED here :p

Damn, everytime I get home and do my dance with my DBV I fall more in love with it. I am so stoked to have this unit and actually had some friends over for what I call "you dont know what stoned is until your vaked!" sessions. I broke out the DBV and had one friend fall off a chair!!! :o

Now I want to trick this thing out with some glass attachements. Are the attachments for the DBV the same as the SSV? When I search online for glass and mouthpieces I constantly get SSV parts offered.

And, what is the actual difference between the SSV and the DBV? Aside from asthetics of course.

:peace:

Just wanted to let everyone know that 7th floor gave me the green light on the SSV glass for my Buddha. I don't have the cash quite yet, but I have a check coming any day now. I'll post again when I receive my glass.

do you happen to know how much this upgrade actually costs? im guessing you just have to buy a new glass heater cover & new glass wand?

i actually still dont even have a DBV yet, but i figure the costs will be useful to know for the future...and how do you go about ordering it? do you have to email 7th floor or just go directly through their website? because they do not seem to respond to my emails...and yes, i emailed tokin, too without a response...

Strange, as they responded to me pretty quickly. They said the HC will cost $14.99 and will be added to the glass shop's order list. Then I have to wait 4-6 weeks for them to finish it. The email didn't mention anything about extra cost, but I will obviously be picking up an SSV wand as well so that will add to the cost (I couldn't imagine using the DBV wand with the SSV HC). The standard wand on the website is also $14.99 so I'm looking at about $30 plus shipping.

FYI, you CAN use the DBV wand with the SSV standard HC. I did it when I broke my first VB mini wand. It's not as good but it does work, especially with the new DBV wand which has a wider mouth. I got a standard SSV wand with my back-up HC last time I ordered and it works great, but I just prefer the smaller loads with the VB mini wand. If you're interested you can still get the mini wand, just not the whole whip at VaporWarehouse. The mini wand fits inside the DBV tubing nicely. VB mini wand

Don't forget screens!!!!
