I'd definitely agree that trying a 2nd screen would be step #1 in addressing the problem.

If the screen gets 'worked over' too much during the install, it could lose its stiffness and not get a tight fit. I've found that it's much easier to install a new, stiff screen in my SSV, rather than trying to reuse the old one.

yup definitely...a new stiff screen was what i tried & it just snapped into place like it knew it was supposed to be there...

yo cluffy, i can see the metal mesh at the bottom of my screen for sure...just cant see through my screen...i guess i was just wondering if you guys had an issue with buildup on the bottom of the screen faster (or undetected) than the top of the screen (since the top gets stirred, picked at, & emptied out)?

i will definitely try the empty wand/high heat method...dont know why i didnt think of that since i read it a few times in older posts...

after tonight, i will definitely report back here with my findings. i seriously love the fuck out of FC!

I never had to use the shims for the HC that came with the DBV. But when I bought my custom glass set for it, that heater cover is wider I guess, because I actually have to use a shim or it is just too loose. The shim tightens everything up.

To the OP, as far as where the him goes, it doesn't really matter. I just place it up against the base in the front, and slide the heater cover over it and the base. Where ever it seats nicely for you is where you should put it if you find you need to use it.

On the subject of screen, i have about 12 that I clean and reuse. But I would like to buy a whole bunch. When I first got my DBV, I had read thru every page of this thread, but I am not doing that again. lol. But someone had mentioned somewhere in this thread that they ordered a 500 pack of stainless steel screens for their DBV. Does anyone remember where this person got them? Looking to get some bulk SS Screens.

Not sure about the mass of the screens, but...
The VB screens are heat treated and don't dishonor when you use them over time. In addition, the VB screens have a smaller mesh than the stock 7th Floor ones. Makes for less wand build-up.

Or you can get get whatever mesh size and diameter you want from ALT. I've never used them, but it look like a lot of different mesh sizes and most titanium. When I run low (I have 20 or so circulating between the wand, cleaning and drying) I was going to give them a try.

Problem is 7th Floor keeps being so generous and throwing in screens whenever I order a new glass piece. So Im never in need. Enough with the great customer service already. We get it. You care about your customers. ;) :you guys are the best!:

They are cluffy... heavier and stiffer to work with.
I put a screen of my own from a stock many that I had... and in 2 years had not changed it.. but cleaned it with Iso every few days.
I just untaped the screens that were attached to my originaL Instructions, to stick it in the wand, and discovered this.

by the way guys heres a little update that may benefit future readers.

i think i know why there was a little concentrated spot in my wand from my post about 6 blocks up or so...its not cuz the bottom of my screen is clogged.

my ceramic heating stick is a little bit off center (when you stare at buddha, it leans a little to the left)...that is why there was an unevenness to the heat...

do you know if this is something i can bend back straight myself or should i contact 7th floor?

is there anyway to keep this as is & treat it as a positive? for instance, should i convince myself that its more like an SSV with a concentrated air flow so that i should just keep twisting my wand so that the concentrated heat spot kind of rotates around the wand?

im not sure what kind of spin to put on this or if straightening the ceramic stick is really worth the trouble (unless all it takes is a little bend with some pliers - that sounds easy enough!).

Don't use pliers! You can straighten the heating element by removing the HC and just using your fingers, gently! You'll notice the element will slide up and down, just do this a couple times while straightening. Just the cables hold it in place, as seen in this pic:

You'll have to make sure it's at the right height too. Hopefully you've got your HC removal and replacing figured out....

How the heck do you search a thread? I use search, and the results appear, and this Da Buddha thread is one of them. but it doesn't link me to the actual page that my search was found in, just returns this thread. Can't figure out how to actually search a particular thread. Any help is appreciated.

Turn the dial on 1'o clock and wait 5 minutes than load the wand and inhale slowly,, If it is too harsh decrease the temp.. if there is not enough vapor than increase.. vape till help becomes light brown sand..

actually I would suggest cranking it to full blast and sucking in really hard for like 4 seconds lol. Then take the wand out(carefully) and clear it. That is usually a nice solid hit for me. Although my friends don't seem to need as much.

Lol. I do it to all my friends and they get absolutely ripped off one hit. That way they cN't say they don't like vapor and they don't waste my bowl because they don't get how to hit it lol.

Reminds me of when a drunk friend tried my vapor genie and wouldn't listen to instructions, he got the nastiest hit ever! He likes Da Buddha though he's usually scared of it.

Calls it the Highpotomizer.
