I should say it sat in San Fran for 10 days. It could have gotten through customs in 1 or 2 days and then just laid in a corner or something the rest of the time - hard to tell from the minimalist tracking info.

Read the thread before, it's what we do, looking throught the glass to see the vapor... with that, we can adjust the inhalation. Now I have no time limit, but usually about 15 seconds inhalation.
You can count the inhalation time in the video I posted, with a water filter

Hey, I saw that, which is awesome and I'll be trying it. But I do the cooling of the unit with my own inhalation is what I meant. You do too to a degree. Our methods are variations of one another but yours will require equipment not packaged with the FV.

I had started doing the same by just watching the vapor form in the window and inhaling at the right speed with the power button continually depressed. Works a treat and the cool air intake cools the heating screen and vapor enough to prevent combustion and makes the use of anything else to cool the vapor unnecessary. I milked .25g last night with my wife over the course of 15 to 20 minutes and we were both doing just fine! Yes, 1/4 gram! You just get so much more out of the product when you are not constantly heating it. This vape has become my favorite. :D Can't wait for the mini version. I will buy it too as soon as it is available.

Both are great high drain 18650's, but the first ones have more capacity and are able to handle a 6 amp drain and are 3100mah. The other ones are able to handle a 10 amp drain, but are 2250mah. Both more than enough for the 3 amp draw of the Flashvape.

Those are 3.6v compared to the stock 3.2v. Be careful! Way less time on that button and a completely different method. You can't use the continuous hold here... You will combust regardless of inhalation cooling.

I'm glad you guys like the power while inhaling technique, I find it gives the freshest flavor and most satisfying vapor too.

Recently I've been starting to draw the whole time, from the instant you press the button, just draw mflb-slow at first and then when the vapor is the density you want just increase your draw speed until it stabilizes. I think this is more like convection heating

And that's the nice thing about this vape, the equilibrium draw speed is actually a nice satisfying rate. With the mflb you had to draw slower than humanly possible to get half the vapor. With the FV you actually feel like you are getting a decently full hit!

My AW 3100's kick out almost immediately. Must have a 6 amp kicker circuit. Those must have a 10 amp protection (or thermo protection as should not take time to come back on). My guestimates puts the FV at around the 9 amp mark.

If you guys think you can handle the 3.7v (it's really tricky and not something you should do if you haven't even mastered the 3.2v), then you want AW branded IMR 18650 3.7v batts. You can get them at www.cloudsofvapor.com but I believe FV is coming out with something soon to use with 3.7v batts as well. Maybe something like the Evolv Kick? Battery Regulator of some sort to be used with you 18500's?

Wow I just measured 9.70 amps with my multimeter. According to OF, the real current is even slightly higher!

(This is with 3.2v batteries. 3.7v will push even more!)

I was being generous. I previously measured .4 -.5 ohms for load so one can calculate from there.
amps = volts/ohms watts = volts X amps
With your valued measurement we have 9.7 = 3/ohms or ohms = 3/9.7 = .31 ohms. (3X9.7= 29.1 watts)
This is good to know as very hard to measure that low of resistance.
To take it further with 3.6 volt we have amps = 3.6/.31 = 11.6 amps (3.6X11.6= 41.74 watts)
Now we are sure talking power. Thinking of the power wastage drawing and leaving on is actually happening. Makes you appreciate what we are putting these batteries through.

Ya I would guess 0.4-0.3 ohms for the load but it is tricky you're right, my meter is cheap too, so it's just a guess.
Never the less it's good information even if ball parked.
Gives for a better power comparison between running 3 volt vs 3.6 volts numbers wise.
So we basically have 30 watts with 3 volt and 40 watts with 3.6 volts. Or 30% increase in power moving towards the standard 18650 voltage.

EDIT: in reading the responses, I want to convey that I am not stating that an increase in power is a good thing. Only what it is. The real quest is for longer lasting batteries and no options with the 3 volt LifPos.

When Li-ions state they can push 10 amps, ever notice they do not state what the voltage is at that current?
It's a thing called internal resistance and most do not pay attention to this spec if it is even stated. My guess is, if a Li-ion is pushing 10 amps the output will be down around the 3 volt mark and get hot quick. But again in this application the voltage drop might be a welcomed thing. Isn't breaking new ground fun?

I thought I'd try one of Magic-Flight's new batteries in it and got combustion in 3-4 seconds. A Powerex 2700 was almost as fast. Anyone see a parallel?

Anyway, bigger is not always better. I just posted in the Solo thread that I believe that designers make decisions after careful thought and testing. I think that applies to the battery choices made by FlashVAPE and Vaporblunt. If there were better batteries for the intended usage, both of these companies would ship them.

I totally agree and just realizing the numbers should definitely have people think twice about playing with non-recommended batteries. And as Flash stated, they are working on an optional upgrade for use with 3.6 batteries and IMO we should calm down until Flash gives the go ahead.

Sad that such a thing really needs stating, but this here Internet Al Gore invented has given rise to a whole new cottage industry of guys with search engines second guessing folks they don't know on topics they don't fully understand......bless 'em.

OF, well put. IMHO, The 3.7v battery is just asking for a bad time for the majority of users.

Personally, I love it. But I have experience with other devices (compare it to 6.0 / 7.2 / VV devices) that have given me insight to how the FV works. That being said... It's not like someone can't learn... They just need to be overly cautious, 2 second hold because 3 might be too much on a fresh charge (~4.2 with a MM on new batteries).

So this vape certainly takes practice, I combusted more than 5 times (more than with the mflb) but I have been getting better and it is just so easy to clean that I haven't used my Pax in weeks.

It is very satisfying, but it's also the least likely vape I would want to share or teach someone how to use... it took me weeks to get there :\

And yeah, I don't think I'd ever be able to use it in the dark lol

Looking throught the glass is a key. This is how you can see the vapor emanations, and thus to control the inhalation ...... last few days, I look also at the vapor for the color change. It is very subtle, it can be noted that the vapor passes from white to a darker color. Seeing this color change also helps modulate the inhalation.
More I see the chamber, better is...... I hope Jerry will do a version with chamber led(s) ;)
