Just want to say thanks to Blake and others for all the good tips on learning to use the DBV. Been getting better as I experiment. I've been out of town for a while but just got back to the boards and to me DBV so I will report back on my progress.

Also wanted to say I was having some trouble with that metal spacer, too (Blake, I think you mentioned this a few posts back). I can't seem to get it to fit correctly -- either it's too snug on the base of the ceramic heater and gets pushed all the way up inside the glass cover as you slide it on, or it's too wide and won't let the heater cover slide down the base. I already broke one glass heater cover trying to push it down on there...I was gentle but gave a little too much force at the wrong angle I guess.

Finally I snipped a sliver off of one metal spacer to just wrap around the bottom of the heater base to prop the glass cover up a bit so the wand end matches up with the hole in the unit. Still annoying, though. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Hey guys, wanted to post some pics of my custom glass and water filter setup I got from 7th floor. I LOVE the custom glass set, and I love the water filter even more. I use it with the DBV, and on its own as a BHO rig. Well worth the $89 for the water filter setup. Check them out.

Creepin in the shadows!
So my da buddha heater cover recently got cracked when some jackass through my backpack across the room with my DBV in it. I was wondering if it was still okay to use or if it was just going to shatter when it heats up? its cracked on the very top right above the ceramic heater.

SWEEEET!!! I can not WAIT to get my custom glass!!! I am getting them to make me a lime green/black sea anemone knob, lime green/black twisted canes wand, & lime green/black 14 mm water pipe adaptor!!! I am paying for it tomorrow & they will start making my pieces as soon as they recieve my paymennt!!! YAY!!! :) Still bummed I missed out on that bad ass eyeball knob (it looked like a dragons eye to me). ALSO Elyssa from DBV is REALLY sweet & has talked to me for over a month about different options of stuff I wanted & helped me a LOT in creating the most Lindseyfied custom glass possible!!! (Considerin they lost their best blowers) So I KNOW Elyssa is nice!!! ;)
P.S. Stop the hate yall!!! Hit your vape & Chillllllllllllllllllllllll

should still be okay to use, but being so close to the heater, the heat might actually make it worse over time. so yeah you should get a replacement.

dope glass @ PeaceLuvPot.

i need to clean out my custom glass as well. was gonna do it on 420, make a video....

never happened :/

Wow, I did some searching and you're right! Best bet is to get a whole new whip, so you get the mouthpiece, a fresh hose and spare wand for around 28 bucks shipped from 7th floor or 24.99 shipped on ebay.

What do you do, chew on them? I've never broken a mouthpiece. :-P

i bring my buddah to alot of parties, I have 6 feet of tubing and sometimes a drunk fuck will drop it and it will break. The headshop near my college sells em for 5$ but im 200 miles away for the summer and no headshops sell em or even thouse cheap plastic hookah ones. Im prolly just gonna keep cleaning the cheap hookah one i have all summer.

jayweb91,
from what ive heard the only difference between the DBV and the SSV is that the DBV has a 1 year warranty and the SSV has 3. Otherwise its the same exact product made by the same manufacturer.

hey man, you can try the Arizer Extreme Glass Mouthpiece for Whip
http://www.vapeworld.com/extreme-vaporizer-glass-mouthpiece-for-whip

more 'ciggy' like style and lighter so less chance of breaking when it drops.

funny thing is, mine looks more like this (but it works great though) http://www.vaposhop.com/vaporizer_accessoires/arizer_accessoires/arizer_accessoires_whip_mouthpiece/

tip - i have to add that i read one brilliant suggestion on this or the ssv thread to use the vapir no2 screen as a filter (or 'condom' cause it looks like it) on the plastic/silicon tube before insert into the wand, so the tube keeps clean for a whole lot longer. something to consider. the 'smoothensss' of the screen in the wand also makes for easier removal/insertion of the tubing for cleaning.

Are you asking or telling? I mean, we all know the SSV and DBV are both 7th floor products. There are differences between the 2 units. The SSV is not hands free by default and is slanted on an angle. The DBV is straight up, and hands free by default. I do not own an SSV so I am not sure if the heating element and temp control are the same, because I do not own an SSV, but if the SSV has the same heating system as my DBV, well, thats not a bad thing, because it kicks ass.

So not really sure what you are saying here. Maybe implying the SSV is not worth the extra money? Well, if they are selling at that price, then I guess the people have spoken and said that it is worth the price.

I myself would love to add a Mind Eraser SSV to my collection someday. But I love my DBV, and will not ever really be seeking a replacement desktop Vap. I never even turn my DBV off, so I never have any wait time. Have had it since February, its been on constantly since March, and is awesome. When I am not vaping I have my essential oils dish on top making my room smell nice and pretty. :)

I got my DBV for home, and my MFLB for mobile use, and I am a happy vaper. :)

EDIT - I forgot to mention another difference between the DBV and the SSV. Frm reading the threads here about both units, the air/vap ratio is different between the 2 units. Neither is bad, but there is a difference. Others will correct me if I am wrong on that point.

Just ordered my DBV from vaporizers.ca. Where is a good place to find nice glass parts (wand and mouthpiece)?

I tried browsing through this thread or search, but it's hard to find the information I'm looking for. I can find them on the web, but I'd like some recommendations. Thanks!

Best glass selection is always gonna be at the 7th Floor sites, as far as I know. You can look at both the DBV and SSV sites, since both have custom glass for hands free setups.

Thanks! Not cheap, but I found what I was looking for :)

I saw some reference to Etsy as well, anybody care sharing their experience?

Just got my DBV from vaporizers.ca. Already love it after only two tokes! This machine is wicked. :ko:

Simple, but yet very effective. No learning curve whatsoever (or so minimal).

The black powder coated finish is awesome, and the unit will look sleek in any bookshelf. Well it looks freakin' nice in mine anyway :p

Some awesome info here ... I think the pics above answer my question, but I'll ask just to be sure. Will SSV custom knobs fit on DBV? Additionally, are there any other specific glassblowers that make custom knobs?

EDIT: Answered my own question ... Didn't see the designated section on the DBV website. Can't wait to order.

If you are still looking VaporWarehouse has some clear ones from Vaporbros for $4.99, not sure what they charge for shipping. They also have a ceramic one listed for $4.99 but looks like they are not taking orders for it. Not sure what it looks like, they don't have a picture up. Unfortunately I haven't found any color glass mps for less than $10 as well. Seems like they would be easy to find but I guess not.

I just checked out the 7th Floor MPs, they have some pretty sweet MPs. I love all the custom ones and they have a super collection of color glass. I also decided to check shipping at both sites. 7th Floor charges $6.35 to ship one and VaporWarehouse charges $4.00 to ship a similar style. I think I'm going to pay a little extra and create one.

VapeSpace,
I think vapeworld or Puffitup or one of the other trusted retailers has mouthpieces for cheap. I remember one even having B stock mouthpieces for 50 cents... Anyway, check the retailer page.
