Sending good thoughts your way, Rick. I hope your lawyer embarrasses these guys in court, but that would require them to have a sense of shame.

I'll soon post a picture of my Redwood CRZ that I received in mid-June. Since that time it has never failed to impress me or anyone else who has used it.

By the way, can anyone direct me to a source for screens and retaining clips that fit the CRZ stems?

Another quickie from boarded up Zapville.
JackHerer, the clips are 1/4" internal retaining rings. They can be found at Ace or other big box hardware stores. You will have to spread the ends apart just a little to get them to fit tight in the SS tubes. They are perfect for the smaller brass tipped stems. The screens you will have to cut out on your own or find some from another log vape maker. I had thousands left but they were all taken by LEO on 7/25/2012.

Our local movie is still unfolding with us close to 6 months from the event. Our son is now facing the loss of any visiting or contact with his three sons and his oldest son having to move back with mother. She wants him drug tested every week for three months, at his expense, plus much more we will not mention. How ironic as this is the same person who sat down with two Idaho State police officers on Jan 26, 2012 and told them several lies about our family. That meeting caused the event of 7/25. Now she wants to take kids away because of that event. This too could be a lengthy civil court battle but we hope not for the sake of the kids.
With the help of Vitolo we have found a much more appropriate definition for our enemy. That would be Termagant. Termagant:
n.
A quarrelsome, scolding woman; a shrew. a scolding nagging bad-tempered woman.
The imaginary deity,(below) appearing in morality plays is especially appropriate. This entire event is based on one persons interpretation of "morality". Very interesting considering this woman sees her children as chattel. She 'owns' them and will use them to hurt anybody(even her mother). The Termagant in our lives is a classic. She will harm a kid to hurt a man. She really needs professional mental help. Pray for her.

Noun
  1. A harsh-tempered or overbearing woman.
  2. An imaginary deity of violent and turbulent character, often appearing in morality plays.

.. Very interesting considering this woman sees her children as chattel. She 'owns' them and will use them to hurt anybody

I am certain it is not just her children. It was likely her husband (when she could still keep one!),
her siblings, and her parents as well.
Remember... the Termagant is a loner.... truly trusting nobody for they carry shame. Also, remember that a Termagant views themselves as a feminine deity. A deity can do no wrong, so when it's "subjects" do not do as expected, she causes storms and fouls weather harsh enough to sink ships.

Back to Zaps (and people with humanity)...
tip: to keep the Zap stem heating evenly you can use a rotating technique... that allows every spot on you SS stem to touch the inside of the heat port ... and get you a perfectly even tan.

I learned a new word today! This site is educational. I think Termagant certainly sums up the woman you were dealing with. I have unfortunately known a few of these in my day. I remember a particularly evil woman considering to write to a college my friend had gotten into because she didn't get in ... and wanted to rat him out for an outside of school cannabis related run in... Disgusting.

i like that word.
my VVPS bit the dust just now. where can i get a new one?

this appears to be the exact same power supply i currently have, just with a silly picture on it and for $16 :o
if this will work as well as the one that just broke i think i'll just get that again. anyone know?

if not, i think i'll go with the spartan. unless there is some other awesome inexpensive power supply out there.

StealthGrower, If it were me making the choice, I would go with the Spartan. When we made a serious attempt to offer a good VVPS for Zaps, we tried several different models. The one you show in the post above does look very similar to a model we initially offered. The main thing we noticed about the Spartan besides being much more aesthetically pleasing was the weight of the Spartan. It weighs about twice the $16 model you linked to. I am not positive the extra weight mattered but we sure thought it did. The 10 turn dial on the Spartan is also nice for precise voltage settings.
We had about a dozen or so left when we were raided in July. The people in black stole everything we had including power supplies. I do not use the term "stole" lightly. That is what they did. They took lots of 'stuff' they did not have to take but that is the game. Hurt these people as much as possible as they are bad people.

The irony of this will unfold in time. Thiefs of course have no integrity and this was no exception. Quiet for now Ricky. They(other side) will find out soon enough.

Yes, the Termagant in our world is for real and as bad as they get. Our prayer is always close to the same. Let the Termagant be who she really is. Let her blossom and show the world how she is like a Burdock.
Just wait til we get to talk about the whole story. Might even make a good movie some day.

This case needs to be seriously medialized. So Americans finally wake up and see how gov treats people who care about other people's health.

They were already raiding MMJ dispensaries, which means treating "healers" as criminals. But they've still got masses brainwashed to approving that, but raiding a vapemaker? A person making devices improving people's health? How brainwashed someone needs to be to see even a vapemaker as a bad person? That just shouts: "Good health is a crime!", nothing more.

i have a rockzap named monet, i was wonder what would be a good variable for it. whats everything i need. i have just been running regular adapter.
From Rick's VVPS Instructions:

"I keep my personal zap between 13.5 & 14.2 all day with the exception of turning it down when i go to bed.

Please, no zap use over 15volts.

When your zap is not in use, turn VVPS down to 10volts OR keep below 13.5 OR switch off the VVPS"

I'd start from 13.5 and work your way up until you find your sweet spot

Wow Gunky! Great search for the latest revision of our VVPS power cords. Those cords, from the VVPS to the log vape, were the best ever. I have promised UD Dave a bunch of factory log vape plugs/wire LEO missed in their rape of our property and thus far have spaced him. I will send those off in the next day or two so he can add another addition to his VVPS power cords(unless he has already done so). Those cords work for most Tattoo machine power supplies and must also be used with a "switch" in the second port. The switch can be any 1/4" OD round metal rod. The second port must be shorted or closed for power to be delivered to the first port.
Gunky and others have answered questions re: other power supplies. The UD and HI threads also have good VVPS information.
Dave.....thanks for your patience with the old man.

so will the underdogs variable cable work with the rockzap they look the same. says banana plugs an 2.1mm
Tekpower DC Variable Power Supply, 1.5-15 V @ 2A, HY152A
would the ud variable cable work with a machine like that. in the rock zap

The UD and CRZ (and pretty much all log vapes) use the same 2.1mmx5.5mm plug on the log end of the cable. The power-supply end of the cable can vary depending on exactly which power supply you have. Some (like that Tekpower) take banana plugs, some take other plug ends, such as the Hildbrandt Spartan Rick sold for a while, which takes the cable mentioned by Gunky above: Aromazap/Myrtlezap/CeramicRockZap post 8738. That one has a 1/4" mono plug on the end, I think--would someone confirm what that's called?

Rick

Zapman
placetime, you are right on. Most all log vapes use the same 5.5 x 2.1 mm female pug. That plug looks like it should be called a 'male' but it is a female because when you plug it in to the log vape or any device, it gets penetrated with a small round rod. Enough.

It is also correct that the plug used to plug into a Tattoo machine VVPS is a 1/4" standard mono audio plug. You do want a mono plug as the stereo plug has extra connections not needed for use in a VVPS.
I also want to mention again that if one has the Tekpower VVPS, you do not need banana plugs at the power supply end of the power cord. The red and black power plugs on the tekpower will actually uncrew(top portion) so you can wrap a stripped end of a wire around the post, then screw the top part back on, making a great connection.

That is the way I use my Tekpower VVPS and always have. It was the first VVPS I ever bought and the one I am using now. For some reason, LEO left my Tekpower PS in my shop. I guess they were too busy grabbing up all my cull Zap shells, screens, clips, heaters, etc to notice the red flamed Tekpower. I surely am thankful for that as they took every other power supply, fixed or variable, from our home on 7/25.

BTW, just in case old Zap customers(or anyone) do not know, I strongly recommend the UD for anyone looking for a good log vape. I have had several old customers ask lately. Many go several years back and have never seen FC. One of them said "I have had a Zap on my desk for ten years"................

I see the new Tekpower is not red with flames but now white in color. Same machine though with the same output plugs that will unscrew for a bare wire install. Polarity does not matter with a log vape unless it has an "on" led light. Then center pin positive for light to work. A very good VVPS BTW for $40.

What a guy!
Thanks for that write up Place and Rick. I've been thinking of getting a second VVPS and making some custom length cords for vaping with friends. This was just the info I needed at the perfect time.

I've been using the Hildbrandt Spartan for quite some time now. No problems and I really like the option to vary the voltage.

I just bought an Epicvape Nano and am thrilled with the hits. Zero interest in a UD thanks to Andy.

I do appreciate the mods letting my thread go on these days. With Aromazap gone there really is not much to talk about anymore. Maybe a few questions to answer and old customers seem to be doing a good job of that.
I'll pop back in when we hear some significant news regarding last summers event. Until then, we'll be outta here getting on with life. With nothing returned yet I am finding it is a big job trying to re-create the last two years data but we are getting there day by day.
Thanks again to all the FC folks out there who helped make our life fun over the last few years.

Just wanted to stop in and share a picture of one of my beautiful friends, a late model Zap who I call Curly. Thought you all would appreciate it.

Speaking of appreciation I received a gift in the mail the other day from a good friend and all around awesome guy and he must know me well since the package included some wood. Anyways here's a chunk of that wood, a pretty piece of Blue Pine, turned in honor of my Zap friend. Now I just have to find it a home and I know just who I think I'll send it to.

Wow Dave, what beauties! I particularly like the blue pine as it brings back such memories. We started with blue pine which was a big mistake for an un-insulated heatport design. The thing about blue pine is the variety. The piece above is more on the plain side as far as colors go. Often there are reds and orange and grey coloring in blue pine.
And now for a coupla quickies. This is about our treat from the Universe, exactly 6 months to the day from our home invasion by the ISP. Late afternoon, Jan 25th, spotted by Pat on one of our ip cameras. She came running into the shop and said "I think Wilma has had her calf". I said......."oh no, way too early......according to YOUR calculation". Anyway, Daisy is here now and doing so good. She is starting to get the beans even. That is when they just squirt around and have so much fun. Wilma calved on a steep hill in the back of the place. Luckily Mike was in the shop too so he got her carried down to the hay shed quickly. That was a good thing as it was raining on melting snow on the hill, not good for babies.

Here is the next morning.
