start low, around 11-12. load about 1/3rd to 1/4th in the wand, inhale through the whip while loading the wand to keep the bud in place and take your first nice hit :ko::ko:

I've gone back now to 11 - 12 after going thinking I had to have it set at 2. One thing I'm finding now, for me, isn't so much how much it grounded but that it needs to be packed down. I tap around with the pick head and that seems to help get me a nice draw with a good visible return.

understand that the temperature can vary from one DBV to another. So one persons 12 oclock could different for another DBV.

Turn on all the way and turn back about a quarter or so and see what it does it for you and go up or down from their.

correct , as a clock.

The other thing I found recently, (I can be dense sometimes ) but that how long a wand lasts , how many hits, can be effected by the bud itself. I had some bud last week, I'd fill the wand 1/4 - 1/3rd and I was getting under 8 hits. Then even cranking the temp a bit did nothing. It was free bud so not sure but I see it with other strains and comparing them how well they do in the vape. I think the more resinous the longer the wand will go. Maybe other people have had that experience as well.

stuartambient,
Hi all. This is my first and probably only post here. I was just reading through this topic and read about folks having problems with blowback on Da Buddha and I thought I would share my solution. Instead of screwing around with a screen to prevent someone from blowing herb into the heating element, I used a one way check valve that allows air to flow in one direction only. It goes right inline with the whip and is small enough to not be an eyesore.

One thing that 7th floor suggested (and is what I did on my SSV) is to find your optimal vape spot and pull the knob, putting it back on at the 12'oclock position. It makes life sooooooooo much simpler just coming in and turning it to high noon (pun intended)

does that impair air flow?

No. It opens with 1/2 a pound of pressure. Which means you can draw as lightly as you want and it will still open. And it doesn't restrict air flow if you want to take a big draw.
I should mention though, when the valve is new the diaphragm in it is kind of stiff. But just playing with the airflow through it with my lungs for less than 5 minutes broke it in just fine. At first slow, light hits didn't work, then I broke it in and now it opens with the slightest draw.

dazza30,
I've noticed my heating element is off center for any position I can get my heating cover to be - so that one side is always getting heating way more than the other. How could I fix this? How do I remove the heater cover - I don't see how you can access the screws with a screwdriver without hurting the glass heater cover. I don't have an instruction booklet or diagram or anything and am curious about what my options are.

I've used the stirring tool to reposition the heater in the middle of the HC , through the air path hole: never moved again... Hopefully U can do the same on your DBV...

The HC just pulls right off. Might have to wiggle it just a bit, but it pulls off without issue.

Hello folks. Read this entire thread. Got my Da Budda 2 Tuesdays ago, and I have not combusted since, and have no desire to. I have found my sweet spot at 12:30, and I can not tell you how much I love the vape high. I have been a morning noon and night smoker for over 25 years. I was an exclusive glass bong smoker. Now i use my EHLE for vaping, so it doesn't get lonely. I do not even need the bong attachment as the vape hose fits nice and snug right in my EHLE diffuser downstem.

One thing I don't understand about the new people that come to this thread (I see this elsewhere a lot too). They get a Da Budda, they find this thread, they see its 56 pages long, yet they do not read any of it and come n here and ask questions that have been answered a million times. I just don't get why people don't help themselves, and instead just reply on everyone else to do everything for them. lol. Ok, thats my vent, its over.

Back to the Da Budda. I am not one obsesses over efficiency, so I can tell you how many hits I can get off a tiny leaf. lol. I can say that I use less pot then when I smoked, and I don't know how its possible that people say they use MORE weed when vaping then when they smoked. I feel if thats the case, they are vaping wrong. lol. 1/2 of what I would pack in my bong for one session, lasts me at least 2 vape sessions, if not 3 sessions. So I am very happy with the less usage. And I love the high so much better than the combusted high.

I am going to get some custom glass now that I know its a keeper. A SSV is also on my list of future purchases. I want one of those Wave Rider SSV's. They look so cool.

To the guy that was disappointed that 7th floor stopped making custom SSV HC's for the Da Budda, I have to say, well, what did you expect. I am surprised they even made ONE of them. If they started making them, why would anyone buy the SSV. I thought, although a VERY cool thing for them to do, I thought that was just an awful business decision to ever even make one of them, since that could hurt SSV sales. But I am glad you got what you wanted anyway. :)

So, ok, thats it for now. I LOVE my Da Buuda. And oh yea, my wife and I have been together for 22 years. She is NOT a smoker, and would not smoke with me ever. Now she vapes with me every single night, and I am in heaven having my wife and my vape partner, and we have been having so much fun being baked together. So the Da Budda has even made my marriage stronger. How's THAT for a testimonial. LMAO.

Peace all.

Lo

Combustion free since '09
Wow!! Kudos PeaceLuv and welcome to FC!! The DB is a great one to convert to vapor for bong folks especially.

I'm tickled that your wife is now partaking in the vape...that is really sweet. Happy vaping.

Wow, that's really cool that she vapes with you now! I never knew my DBV possessed such magical powers :)

Welcome to FC, we could use more people like you that actually read the entire thread before asking all their questions. I'm totally with you on that

There's an entire Steinback novel in this thread, there's older and revised editions of War and Peace in the MFLB thread. Don't talk shit because I don't feel like blowing a whole afternoon digging and digging, or using a search function which leaves much to be desired. If we just wanted a board of dead, clinical info we'd have that, instead we have a forum; forums sometimes have the same questions brought up over and over, and hopefully, graciously answered over and over, FLskwat did.

Got the HC off with no problems, gave it a quick cleaning too. The problem is the ceramic heater itself - it refuses to stay in place when I try to move it to the right (it being originally too far biased toward the left). It just goes back to its original position and I'm obviously reluctant to put alot of force on the thing, I'm worried it'll just snap in two.

I've settled to 12 o'clock with my dbv after owning it about a year. I used to use 2 or 3 o'clock. I usually keep the setting at 12 and just unplug the thing when i'm done. I plug it in about 15 minutes before i need to vape and it is always ready after that time. But if you cranked it to full for 5 minutes and then turn it back to 12, you will not have a problem that way either. I can wait the 10 to 15 because I have a nightly routine and instant vape is not that critical for me. I've found that if i connect by bong to the vape i will have to turn it back to 11 o'clock or i will get a really dark focused burn patch in bowl.

Any one know of a way to get a nice even vape? Or is it not possible with the no hands whip style. I always seem to get a center part being vaped darker than the outside part of the load. I would think that the manual whip like the original ssv you can control the area of vape in the bowl by tilting the whip. I found that packing the center part a little more than the rest reduces the center being vaped more, but other than that i haven't stumbled on another method for these hands free whips.

Wow, thanks for the warm welcome. Always amazes me to find hostile stoners. I quoted you in my first post, because I directly answered your question. The first sentence of my first post was a polite answer to your question. But leaving that out of your quote i guess helps justify the hostility. Then I introduced myself and began talking about Da Budda. Then things I noticed thru the thread. My comment on questions being answered a million times was not even referring to your question, which again, I politely answered. It was directed to some of the more "newbish" questions that not only have been answered constantly, but maybe even as recently as 1 page back from where they asked.

I know I quoted you in my first post, but as it was my first post, I went in several directions, had many thoughts after reading 56 pages. My comment was not directed at you. I also agree that message forums are for conversation. I was not nitpicking, I was venting a bit is all. If you go back and read the 56 pages, I think what I was referring to is pretty clear. Nothing wrong with repeated questions, I was actually thinking of making a post that contained a summary of everything I learned from the 56 page read, just to have some points from earlier in the thread posted in the later pages as well. But I do not think it is much to expect someone coming hear as a new owner of a Da Budda, to actually read the thread that he is about to skip right to the end without reading and post a question, that he can easily find the answer to on the first 3 or 4 pages of the thread.

Anyway, no need for hostility, I aint about the hate nor the drama. Peace.
