Things that go well with vaporizing

Yeah. Sleeping in a cold room with the windows open under a real warm and soft down comforter and under really soft flannel sheets with head resting on soft flannel pillow covers covering over large king sized down pillows.

I know. But I REALLY like that.

NAD, MB Quart, and CDs with good dynamic range go excellently with vaporization. The key words here are dynamic and range. My ears don't get tricked and my heart is happy. I also enjoy a demitasse of moka out of the bialetti while I watch the corals in my reef tank sway in the current.

Its probably been mentioned 100 times in this thread, but I LOVE a good coffee with a wake'n'vape. I've always noticed that the caffeine balances out any sleepy effects from the cannabis. Coffee and weed are a match made in heaven :)

And when I say a good coffee, what I mean is some quality, recently roasted beans that I've ground on the spot (I use a hand grinder for each cup). No supermarket coffee, that tastes like bitter cardboard to me. My favourite coffees are the African varieties, like Ethiopian and Kenyan. After grinding, I usually run them through a moka (typical Italian stovetop coffeemaker), but I also often make cold brew coffee, Vietnamese-style coffee, spiced coffee (East African/Swahili style) and others.

Has anyone else noticed that coffee culture and vapor culture are similar in many ways?

Coffee culture does parallel vapor culture with coffees many different methods of preparation. There is a seemingly infinite array of hardware for one to obsess over, much like the hardware we talk about here. Home roasting takes it even further. Roasting different varieties of green coffee; controlling the heat and time while listening for the sounds and smelling the smells to get to the perfect roast is a skill not unlike mastering the art of extracting vapor. The most obvious similarity to me is that vaporizing and coffee roasting are the only two hobbies that have ever saved me money. Green coffee costs about 1/3 of what specialty roasted coffee does and my green goes twice as far in my vaporizer.

I do as well. My current favorite is Etheopian Ardi that I get at this place: http://www.paradiseroasters.com/ethiopia-sidamo-ardi/

Run it thru an electric burr grinder and then Aeropress it. Yum..........

Man, I've tried coffees from all over the place but that dark chocolate taste that I get from the African coffees has me hooked.

For me it's a big bowl of salty/buttery popcorn, a bottle of water and loading up Netflix with seasons of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia".

I know when Charlie starts to make perfect sense it's time for me to put the vaporizer down.

I just finished 5 lbs of a Grade 1 Ethiopia Yrgacheffe Blue Nile that would blow your mind. I have some Natural Ethiopia Sidamo right now that's good too, a little heavy on the blueberry note so I blend it with Indonesian Bali Blue Moon to make my own moka java blend. I like all coffee but I have to agree, African coffees are my favorite. I'm going to roast up some Rwandan when I get home from work today. I need to pick up an Aeropress to add to my arsenal.

how hard is that aeropress to clean? I've been looking into getting one, since my available coffee makers (roommates keurig and cheap drip machine) don't make very good java

The easiest coffee maker to clean than any I have ever used. Press coffee, throw away filter, rinse. Done.
MUCH easier to clean than even a French Press.

That's where I bought mine. Been using it for years. Cheap, GREAT java, super easy to clean..........what's not to like? ;)

Edit: If you also like a bit of froth on top of your coffee, check this out: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002KZUNA/ref=oh_details_o06_s00_i00

Got this at the same time I got the Aeropress. As with the AP, this thing has been working flawlessly since I got it. To clean, just spin it under hot running water for a few seconds. Done.

I like press pot coffee a lot, but I'm more of an aroma person as opposed to body, and the solids in press pot coffee are a bit much sometimes. They are a bitch to clean too. There were days when there'd be two or three dirty ones on the counter. My teenaged daughter and head dishwasher hates them. Since the Aeropress uses a filter, does it produce a sediment-free brew? Do you just drink it straight or do you do the americano thing?

Yes. All the goodness of a French Press without the sediment.

Yup. Been using mine every day for years. Still working flawlessly. Just gotta recharge the batts every once in awhile, like about once every 3 months.

Aeropress and a handgrinder makes great coffee. Its a fun simple task to help yourself wake up.
