I find this to be true, using "just enough to cover the screen" is not the best way to pack the wand. If I load it up and see its half full without any packing, thats the most i will put in there. I then gently pack it down. Maybe this is where the 'inefficiency' of the DBV comes in.

Been rockin' the Dabuddha for awhile now-I must say the first hit thru the wand is a taste explosion! I have my DBV almost sideways on a board, this ensures the herbs stay in the bottom of the wand and don't spill forward causing an open path for hot air to get by it w/ out good exposure. Heats up quicky although I find it best ot leave it on if your a constant user as I am. I get about the same "yeild" from vape as i did combustion. But really i have avb to re vape or turn into low grade butane oil. Is everyone happy w/ their ssv shortened hc w/ mini wand from either vb or 7th floor?? I am very interested in a new size option for bowl and often use my GonG as a hands on wand-moving it around as I take hits. I use about .2 per bowl sometimes .3 and get 4-9 hits depending on how far I want to take it and the herb itself. i'm using a female downstem{glass} as the wand w/ a screen in it jusyt a bit below the flared edge-so far so good and its connection to the dbv is still sketchy-it supplies me w/ that smaller option but I m anxious to get and try the adjusted ssv hc and ssv wand or mini.
My whip connects to either a stndard acryic staight tube or any crometted piece after the first few hits through the whip.

4-9 hits from 0.2-0.3g sounds too low to me.. I would get ATLEAST 30 "normal" length hits from that much bud.

off your DBV? I would love to know how to get that efficiencey from mine. How dark do you go? Do you grind or scissor? Thanks

PS-what hour postion is the indictor at when the dbv is off? I pulled off my knob and forgot to see where it was when i pulled it off. is it around 7:00?

would this be the normal yeild for others w/ the DBV?-I just tried and got ten hits and I was being conservative with wy hits-some thru whip and some thru bong.

.1g = 8 - 16 hits
.2g = 16 - 32+ hits
this is an estimate off the top of my head. strain quality and heat settings will also effect the output. as well as other factors like draw speed etc...

and go ahead and completely forget about the dial settings in relation to others DBVs. for the most part they can vary and you will be putting yourself through more trouble than its worth. your best bet is to start low and find out where vaporization starts on your specific DBV. then adjust the dial however you like it. most seem to like to set it to where their prime setting has the dial at 12oclock.

I vape till my bud is pretty much evenly dark brown. I use a 2 piece grinder to get a pretty even, fine-ish grind (not so fine that it would fall through the screen, ofcourse).

Recently what I have found myself doing is this. Since I like loading small bowls (0.04-0.06g), and such a small amount doesn't sit nicely on the screen, I first load a pinch of AVB in my wand just enough to cover the screen and form another layer, and then I put a pinch of bud (usually 0.05g) on top, tap around a bit with the pokey etc and load the wand up. Take 5-6 10ish second hits, then take out, stir and rinse and repeat till the vapour thins out/tastes bad.

Not that it matters since every DBV is different, but my dial is set at about 1130-1145 always, and starts up at around 7.00. If you pulled your knob off, just put it back on however you like, since it doesn't actually matter. The only thing you have to remember is your ideal knob setting, whether it is 5 or 10 o clock

This way I get atleast 18-20 hits off ~0.05g. Ofcourse the first 10 or so hits are the biggest, with the first few ripping your lung apart.. but they're still all good hits.

I've probably been using my DBV for a month now daily and I never go through more than 0.2-0.3g/day, even if it had a few heavy sessions. Da Buddha rocks!

The only thing I don't like is the cleaning and changing the screen and all that, but oh well it's no biggie

I've definitely been using more bud than when I just had my MFLB though, but the DBV gets me way more ripped and I've been vaping more too.. still very, very efficient. All my buddies that smoke go through quarters every week and don't believe me when I tell them how much I use.... then they hit da buddha

I just got another ( yeah a back-up for my back-up ) DBV . This is the first time I ordered from 7th Floor and I was worried it would take forever to ship , I ordered on Nov 12 and it was at my house today ( Nov 22 ) . No shipping #'s or email saying it was shipped but its here .

Saw this post the beginning of the week and upon seeing the price I immediately bought the 'blemished' Da Buddha. Damaged or not $130 is a huge discount. $170ish incl. shipping in total compared to over $250 anywhere else = bargain.

For better results, I use water&ice bong... and for the adaptor, i don't need one.. i plug the wand directly in the bong, so it like the stem... works the same. Or juste put the wand in the bowl and seal it with a tape.. works great too and you save money. And it works on all my bongs !

Tonight i'm totally bummed...the wand got STUCK in the glass joint and won't budge. Anybody know the cure for this nightmare???

First, turn your unit COMPLETELY OFF and wait for it to cool down, wait about a half an hour. rub some alcohol on the wand and wash your hands so you have the best grip(wait for alc on wand to dry), twist and push and pull firmly but gently. It happens, next time just remove the wand when your not hitting it.

Remember, heat expands, cold constricts.

It would happen to me, but now I just put the wand down when Im not actively hitting it, good way of preventing joint lock as well as the glass wand getting hot. It most likely got stuck because it was left attached after you pushed it in firmly, the wand expanded and locked.

Hello I've had my Da Buddha for about 8 months and the metal lining slides out with the glass piece that holds the wand. Is this a common problem and is there a way to fix it, ive tried bending the metal lining and have been able to fix it but it always seems to get loose again. The metal piece im talking about is at the bottom of the heating element.

dudes, i'm thinking of ordering a dome screen to mod my dbv. due to cost factors i did some shoppin' around but i'm looking at the original link (above) vs this

and for the ebay one, the 'ring' round the dome screen seems to be made of rubber rather than the link above which seems more like steel. if it's rubber i wouldn't want it near the wand or the hc. is it my imagination or what? anyway, maybe just a notice for newbies who buy things thru the net that such differences may occur.

p/s- too curious, i decided to ask the seller for confirmation.

Looks like the real thing, it's probably just because of the lightning that it looks weird.

That "glass piece that holds the wand" is the heater cover, since it covers the ceramic heating element. The heater cover usually has two of the between the base and the heater cover. It should slide backonto the base, then put the heater cover over it. If you do that and dont fuck with the heater cover a lot you should be fine.

Seems like more than one persons experience with yeild-well it sounds like I am doing something wrong-the only thing I can think is the strength of my herb may be less. Its grown by buddy of mine and has plenty of vis. trichs so I'm stll unsure what im doing wrong. o you really do .04-.06 hits? Or are they .4-.6-prob nott ht would be way too much.

I usually start w/ a wand hit(even though I'ma bonger from way back)the wand gives me a tastey hit the bong can't. I'll do one or two more hits from wand and then switch to the bong. Then usaully get another 3-4 hits from that then the herb is not totally browned but I don't like to go too far with it during normal daytime buzz catching-i will go back and re-vape the stuff later. i use a grinder but have experimented w/ scissors an just tearing it up myself

I already took up way to much space with my first post in the Silver Surfer thread, so quick question for all the Da Buddha owners who still use it with the original or a modified GG setup.

Do you use your whip as a hands free one mostly and leave it inside your Buddha when using it, or do you find yourself taking it out and holding it in your hand most of the time when vaping?

^^^i leave mine in the entire time. i only take it out at the end to give a quick stir for that last hit.
