Looking to buy a new portable vaporizer

Hello,

I have been an avid user of the MFLB for a good 3 years so far. I have the power adapter and have tried just about everything with it. I am considering purchasing a new portable vaporizer.

Cost isn't really an objective at this point, I'd like to spend $300 or less but I would not be afraid of spending a little bit more for a quality device. I'm looking for something that hits as hard as some desktop convection vaporizers, potentially strength comparable with the buddha, SSV, or volcano vaporizers.

My friend has the pax and I would not be afraid of buying it but I'm open to other ideas.

Some I was looking at: pax, inhalater, TV evolution, or waiting for the TV cera to be reviewed.

Any ideas, suggestions, or advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

It seems you value stealth so, I would wait and while you do read on the Cera, and the Inhalater. I prefer convection vaporizers because the flavour is better and lasts longer.

Nothing hits as hard as those three in the portable department in my opinion.. and that should not be your priority. There are some who hit harder: Inhalater, Solo, DaVinci are good options.

Why do you want another portable if you want something that hits as hard as a desktop vape?

I am in school and value the portability of the vape. I was considering buying a SSV for home but I'd rather spend money on a portable vape I can use at both locations. Also, I have access to a family property more in the country that lacks power but with a private lake that I'd like to visit sometimes in the summer.

I've mentally narrowed it down to the PAX and Cera, but am generally open to newer ideas. I want something that hits harder than the MFLB because I just do not have time to sit on the vape for 10+ minutes. The pax seems like more of a convenient device while the cera and inhalater seem like better technology. I'd also consider the Solo, but I'm still unsure.

I guess the question is, how much better is convection than conduction? Is it only a slight improvement or is it two different worlds?

Thanks

i love my inhalater! i use it daily and can be recharged in my car or with my PC. also i like the draw on the inhalater over the pax.

I swear we just did a thread like this, but here goes again :)

Um my Vapir N02, is just dandy!!!!!!!

Someone is gonna hafta be a salesperson here and ask some questions to the OP, such as:

"Dry or Concentrates?"
"How often do you plan on taking vape hits; how many times a day?"
"Have you ever used a Portable Vape before?"
"What is you budget"
"What are your expectations"
"Have you read up on any of the Portable Threads here at FC?"

I'm sure there is more, but asking those questions can help narrow down which is the best tool for you.

There are NO perfect portable vape tools...PERIOD; however there is one that will best suit you, but more information is needed first.

during the summer, more frequently, like maybe 4-5 times a day. During the rest of the year maybe 1-2 times a day.
Yes, I've used a magic flight for 3 years
$250-300+
stealthy, convenient, durable, portable, battery powered and it would be nice if it was convection. My biggest convection vs. conduction is whether or not it is entirely worth the switch. How much better is convection than conduction?

I've looked into and read up on the TV evolution and cera, the pax, the arizer very briefly, and the inhalater. I found a couple threads asking about a good portable vape to buy but I did not find that their expectations were similar to mine.

well, i maintain my suggestions then. To me, convection is much better because you have an easier time extracting the goodies, no need to shake it or wierd hitting techniques, just go looong.
Plus, the flavour lasts longer.

Cera should have the best taste, then the Solo then the Inh.

Battery Life the Inh wins, then the Solo, then the DV then Cera.

There are other variables going on like efficiency and durability, but taste and battery life are my prime concerns in a portable.

If stealth trumps all of these, i would choose between a DV and a PAX. They seem the stealthiest to me. The INH looses on stealth a bit but it is the most balanced in every other variable IMO.

The solo has proven itself in terms of reliability and is rock fuckin solid and very efficient as well. Although it'll look like you're carrying a can of body spray in your pocket so there are trade offs....

PAX won't fit your needs unless you cleaning every session (this has been reported on the thread more than once), INH has received great praise but long term durability is unknown....

The MFLB is getting a revamp (ETA I dunno) but the new battery line supposedly changes the game....

Vaporblunt 2.0 works well, very nice battery time, also unknown durability.....

Thermovape Evo left me with a lot to be desired.....

The NO2 is a great unit not a major cloud producer but a hell of a medicater, battery is user replaceable as well....

I got the impression the Solo would not be suitable, but if it is a candidate then the FlashVAPE is too. An experienced LB user will probably love it.

Where did you get the information about a revamp? The new batteries don't really change the game unless you're one of the people who needed yet more power to the screen. They heat up well past my normal setting on my PA. Hotter screens and faster heatups aren't for everyone.

I love my solo but it not the best for portability. Have you seen the Davinci Ascent? I'm trying to make the same decision and for me it's between Pax, Cera, Ascent. Leaning towards Pax the Cera seems a little big and less stealthy, also it kind looks like a dildo. Not sur I'll be able to hold out long enough for the Ascent but I'm also a little worried about Pax issues so I don't know.

That being said, how many loads do you think you can get per battery? and how efficient are those loads?
Efficiency is a very vague word around here, are you looking for absolute extraction or are you talking about how much you can pack at one time?

By "efficiency" I mean getting the most possible out of your material (absolute extraction).

The Cera isn't out yet.. like i suggested in the beggining of the thread, you should read a bit more about the Cera and the Inhalater in their respective threads.

I remember something about 3-4 bowls per battery, can't remember the size of the bowl though. And yes, it is efficient.

. And yes, it is efficient.

By efficient I'm curious to know if I should expect more or less for the same about of material in the Cera versus the Magic Flight.

Additionally, I'm curious to know a little more opinion on the T1.

Essentially I'm looking for a portable vape that will blow the performance of MFLB away in terms of length of time it takes to use and quality of the hits. Maintaining a high efficiency is also important. I'd like something that would give a desktop vaporizer experience on the go.

So that being said, would the T1 dissapoint my expecations? What about the arizer or inhalater? Not really interested in the convenient design of the pax versus the cleaning it seems to require. I'm also still open to the DV, FV or whatever might meet my expectations.

Thanks

Arizer is honestly the the best choice AT THE MOMENT IMO. It's been a proven work horse for both a designated "home" vape and a "portable" vape. 160$ is a damn steal as well, I can honestly say the only vaporizer I regret getting rid of is my solo, I have yet to have another portable match it.

I was interested in Arizer because of the convection. How long could I expect to get out of a single charge (ie number of bowls), how many hits to a bowl, and how do you manage to insert the stem without spilling herb everywhere inside the device? I don't like how it's upside down. Assuming a power setting of 4-5 for the above questions

I've gone 4 days with 3 sessions a day on a single charge, Hits per bowl is impossible to number due to variations in herb, hit size, and other conditions, you put a piece of a q tip in the stem it not only holds your herb but also collects hash. Honestly start your session at 2-3 the clouds are quite tasty and just as medicating at 4-5.

Not really sure what the Q tip idea means. I'm just wondering even with a screen in the stem how it stays upright in the bowl and doesn't fall into the vape when you pull it out. By hits per bowl, I guess I could be a little bit more specific and ask about how long do you think it would take versus the magic flight? I have trouble vaping .3-.4 in the magic flight in less than 30 mins. Do you find that the Arizer is close in performance to a desktop vape such as the DB, SSV, etc?

He means the cotton from the q tip to collect the resins. You can vape 0,3g in two Solo stems easily.. the higher the temp, the quicker you vape. I suggest you start at 2 and increment slowly.. but if you're in a hurry you can always put it on 7 and vape it in a few hits.

What do you mean by performance? If you mean cloud formation, then it is close, provided the amount is the same in both vaporizers. BUT, the DBV/SSV have a much bigger bowl so there comes a point where these vaporizers produce much more vapor.

If you mean by the ability to extract the compounds efficiently, they are pretty much similar. In fact, the Solo has much lower losses compared to the DBV/SSV because the path between the bowl and your mouth is much much shorter.

Here's how I used my solo:

Morning session level 2-3 (high grade medical will surprise you with how much vapor comes out at these levels)
I started at level 2, and continued hitting it at level 2 then moved to level 3...repeated this for each session
Lunch session level 4-5

Evening session level 6-7

All using the same bowl, used only to medicate not to see how fucked up I can get. It's satisfying vapor that does its job.

I think I will be looking into the solo more because of how satisfied people seem to be with it, the convection, and the battery life. I guess a question would be how much of an improvement should I expect from it versus the MFLB? is it predominantly convenience and subject to preference?

It seems like for the money that this vape would be preferable to me over the TV t1 or cera, or a davinci model.

Well, it is an improvement in almost everything except size. But the comparison is unfair because they have different target usages IMO.
