Well I purchased a Pax from Ploom.com after reading almost all of the posts in this thread. I feel like this vape is going to be a good experience. Purchased on Dec.29th and it shipped out on Dec.31st using USPS Priority International mail to Canada Ontario.

- Electronic Shipping Info Received - Jan 1st
- Arrived at Sort Facility - Jan 2nd - ISC SAN FRANCISCO (USPS)
- Processed Through Sort Facility - Jan 2nd - ISC SAN FRANCISCO (USPS)
- Customs Clearance - Jan 5th - CANADA
- Processed Through Sort Facility - Jan 5th - CANADA

I'm hoping it will be here very soon, can't wait to test it out. Will post back my experience after initial use.
Wow, we're in the EXACT same scenario. I ordered my pax on the 29th, shipped out the 31st and I'm using USPS Priority International mail to Canada Ontario. Weird.

I have been meaning to try that, have yet to take myself to the hardware store so saftey pins for now
you dont have to use safety pins, i got a wire coat hanger and some wire snips, needlenose pliers have a small metal cutter near the hinge that would probably work too, and cut about a 5-6 inch piece out of the straight horizontal piece of the hanger across the bottom when its hanging up.

i take the mouthpiece/oven lid off, pop that down my downtube and bam. screen pops right out and i've never damaged my screen in the 3 months ive been doing that technique, so your screen shouldnt get damaged or anything by it imo.

I think the original post was referring to the cleaning of the screen rather than the removal.

I myself find that a pipe cleaner pushes the screen right out with barely any effort.

Meh- anyone know what their total charge time is? Mine ended up being just over 2 hours. Is this accurate with some of you? Keep in mind this is from being totally dead to the point where it wont blink on.

I once put mine in party mode so I could time how long it took to run flat and then how long it took to recharge. It ran for 1 hour 47 minutes and took 1 hour 10 minutes to recharge.

well mines taking twice that to charge, should I talk to support again? It seems like your numbers may be backwards? It doesnt really make sense that'd charge faster than you can use it, I feel like it gets about an hour of run for 2 hours of charge- Does any one else know their charge times? Any one care to try this?

OK! here i go! im gonna do a quick write up on how i mated my pax with my fumo pipe. I must say this resulted in quite a nifty little addition to my pax arsenal.
The "PAX-A-FUM" (working title)
120m9s9.jpg

start with your pax and fumo pipe with 9 inch chamber (any size chamber really)
34erjiu.jpg

33wv6ts.jpg

get a piece of medical grade oxygen hose (mines about 14 inches) cut one end with scizzors but leave the connector on the other end.
2ywtqtw.jpg

romove grommet and glass bowl from fumo pipe (you may not have one of these, i ordered mine from nm distributing for 5 bucks) if you dont have one youll need to come up with another grommet that fits.
72d187.jpg

romove SS bowl from fumo pipe and remove screen from bowl
20svwqp.jpg

slide SS fumo bowl down over oxygen hose its tight but fits great
k4bcj5.jpg

a0wdw2.jpg

slide grommet onto oxygen tube and press tight into SS bowl (IT'S SNUG!)

Now, that takes care of one end of your pax-to-fumo adapter
w82694.jpg

For the other end of the whip[ we start with the pax mouthpiece
2z8qcs1.jpg

disassemble mouthpiece and machined locking washer from SS pax draw tube
fmhwl.jpg

4jxdmh.jpg

insert SS draw tube into cut end of oxygen hose (again, snug but will go)

imuvcj.jpg

Insert ends of whip into their corresponding instruments

And there you have it! the taste is awesome on low but you start really seeng the vapor milk on medium and high.

well this is my first write up like this on a message board i hope it works out well. thanks for checking it out!

EDIT: I just realized that i should post a pic of the rig milking so here ya go!

Hmm, I think I need some advice.

My Pax has been running great, but now I'm noticing something strange.

When I first turn it on, it starts doing the normal heating process. Then the light will just go to the color of the temperature setting I have it at & stay there. It stops heating. I can usually move it around & get it going again, but then it often goes back to this "frozen" mode.

Did I accidentally activate some setting, or does this potentially sound like a bigger issue? :(

EDIT: ok, I was just looking at posts from a month ago, now that I'm having this problem, I understand that many of you have been having the same issue. Blearrghh...

Temp light issue is a common problem. Contact ploom and they will send you a few packets of the mouthpiece lube. The lube along with a good cleaning will most likely remedy you temp light issue.

Good question, I should have mentioned that. It was red (high), because I wanted worst case.
Almost two hours on high is an incredible runtime! I suppose it would last longest when run like that but that's still very good

Well no, I'm pretty sure it would last longer if I had used yellow (low). ;)

You have a point, though. It wouldn't give that much time on green if you did something like turn it off every ten minutes and let it cool down.

my battery seems to be preforming not so well lately... :(

i think i will let it get to full charge, time that, then let it run down on medium, timing that as well

I mentioned before that cleaning the screen with a torch lighter gets it nice and new looking, I was using a pyrex dish as a backing, DONT DO THIS. hahaha... I should have known this, I am stupid. This will result in the dish exploding, not cracking, it will literally violently explode in a hailstorm of glass shrapnel. cheers. The best thing Ive found for this is using a key ring, sliding the very very end of the screen into the ring, and holding it by hand while heating the screen. If it gets too hot, the ring can be hung up and the screen will safely dangle.

We're here to fuck shit up.
You could use steel wool, a Mr. Clean magic eraser, or a jewelry steam cleaner and not use a torch. Even a good scrubbing with an ISO prep pad will clean the screen nicely. Super heating with a torch can ruin such a thin piece of stainless steel to the point of making it brittle and prone to warping, chipping, or snapping. There is also the hazard of burning yourself or exploding Pyrex dishes.

Does anyone remember how many days it was after passing through customs? Also how it ships in Canada. Purolator, Post Office, other method?

Thanks a lot.

ok, my pax took around 55-58 minutes to charge..

is that rather short?

gonna let it drain now on medium

edit: oh ya, forgot. What is the best car charger for the pax?

nice! I wish mine would be ready in an hour, I heard the cobra radar detector worked earlier in this thread. thanks everyone for posting your charge times, that was my first full drain full charge, I timed it to 2 hours almost to the second, popped on green. Are you guys waiting for it to turn green on the charger cradle to record your times, or are you taking it off and checking it before it turns green? Im wondering if the thing just needs a shake... Well we're on round two of charge time testing tonight. I am using a different outlet tonight too  we shall see. We're on 30 mins, I'll let you all know. I

this made me laugh. Yes torches are dangerous. I agree with the brittle thing, but it is a 3 dollar screen and I prefer just torching it to clean it. To each his own. On that glass adapter, I like my method much better, ill take pics later, its very basic and easy, takes literally 1 second to slip on and off.
