just finished browsing the TET site. I've come away a bit confused.

firstly they claim the cera is "award winning" what award has this cera won? I see NO reference to it whatsoever that this claim is based on fact and if they had actually won an award for it I would think there would be PROOF of it, not just having it in a video.

return policy, and warranty. wow. I can only return it within THREE days completely UNUSED, and they will be inspecting returns thoroughly. that does not build my confidence in this product. If it has lifetime warranty on all but the "heater" why would a mouth piece be listed at 50 dollars? 50, is it not covered by the lifetime warranty? am I missing something here?

why is it listed at 250, when it will not operate without the battery and charger, so a cera is actually 295 not 250. my guess it they want it to "feel" cheaper and a better deal, afterall 250 seems much more appealing than 295. unless this has free shipping one working unit with nothing extra will cost north of 300 dollars.

over 300 dollars and the ONLY way I can get my money back is with a completely unused unit and within 3 days time? WoW, I'm sorry there are things that just don't jive, in my mind. so we can buy this 300 $ plus unit and can only return it if unused?

where is the burning trash can and the bucket of water? cups and plates are cheap I guess and quite relative to its task of vaping. Does it hammer nails and chop wood too? :disgust: pure sensationalism , I suppose it may impress some, not me.

not what I would expect from folks that clearly have prior manufacture and marketing knowledge.

one last thing I find it BIZZARE that u can go to their site and can't even buy the thermovape only the cera. If a person did not know about the thermovape they would think the cera is their only product. its as though it never existed. odd.

all valid points to consider.

Hate me if you like, I care not, I'm not here to kiss ass, tip toe and tap dance around people or issues. I am expressing my opinion from my observations, that is all. " I calls 'em like I see's 'em "
Read through the thread. All of your concerns have been addressed time and time again.

I am not trying to be a dick or anything, but that is why this thread is here. If you still didn't see your answers then ask the questions. It helps cut down on the repeats.

Mr. Krinkle-
Threads might seem long, but that is the best way to get your questions answered. There isn't always an easy way friend. Pay your dues and this site will reward you over and over.

Cheers!
I read a good 25 pages!
the first batch of ceras havent been shipped yet. there will be a plethora of information on cera vs pax in the next few weeks to come. i promise.

IIRC, the cera is said to have 45 min of continuous use with a 2900mah battery. a 2250mah battery will give 30min of use.

hope this helps.
I am aware they haven't been received yet, wasnt sure if anyone in here had the hook up:cool:Thanks for sharing what you know.
I'm one of the very few who have used it. Unfortunately I don't have a Pax (or have ever seen one even). I have a Beta unit and a couple of different power carts and 3 kinds of batteries so there's no fixed answer for you. As an estimate I'd say 30 to 45 minutes of battery. While you can leave the power on full time (and get 3 or 4 ten minute sessions) it's a huge waste of power. Used normally, I'd say the average session is in the 3 to 5 minute range with herb so it could be a few as six or as many as 15 depending on the user and use pattern. It does get going very fast.

For oil use, a battery is good for more vaping than you and five friends are. Seriously. It will do a gram or more (there's some scary video of that sort of action around here somewhere).

Recharge times are short, under two hours. However, it's good to remember the batteries are removable so it's under a minute to swap out a fresh charged one and get back to business.

So, you tell me, how does it 'size up'?

TIA

sounds awesome, two things I wish with the pax, oil friendly and removable batteries.

I have a Pax, and would trade it any day for a Cera. I do not know OF personally, but I would place big money that if he says 30 to 45 minute on a charged battery, you can take it to the bank. I do not know how long my Pax will last, I have never timed it. But I will tell you it blows when the battery dies and you have to wait for the charger to recharge, I would love to be able to unscrew a cap and toss in another charged battery, ready to go.

The electronics of the Pax are a turn off for me too. I prefer no computer circuits to burn out prematurely, causing me grief and sorrow I do not need.

I still do not have the cash to order a Cera yet, and fuckin ' Santa screwed me for the 35th year in a row of not bringing what I asked for ( I am beginning to think this whole 'Santa' thing is a scam). But one thing I do know about life, things change, and the money will flow again and I will love my little Cera.

I just hope I can get it before they come out with the cold fusion powered model ...

Thanks for the feedback. While is a pretty subjective grading, I agree it's awesome from several perspectives.

Not only is it 'oil friendly' with the oil cart, it may well be the most serious tool for the use this side of nails. I know of at least one 'nail head' that plans on putting his 'rig' on the shelf and expect he won't be alone in that. It was not easy getting my Beta unit away from him.... There are videos of scary clouds, hushed the usual 'Cloud Chasers' (you know who you are....) right up I'll tell you!

However, it's also aces with bubble hash (one of my personal faves). The herb bowl holds up to half a gram (a third is probably more typical) and does a bang up job of vaping it off over several sessions. All by 'short path convection'. Fill the bowl with good bubble, fit a charged battery, take all the sharp stuff out of your pockets, take your glasses off and hang on.......

Me too, I calls 'em as I see 'em. I own two Thermovape products, THAT'S why I will have a Cera. They are not for everyone, and obviously not you, but as someone whom has experience with Thermovape products I feel it is a bargain at $250. The T1 was originally sold for $250, and I was pleased as punch to get a T1 for $250 and never regretted it, not even after the prices dropped ... I got what I paid for.

Add longer battery life and a cool ceramic casing as well as a plethora of other features and sell the base model with all the standard upgrades for the price of the original T1? What the hell else could you ask for?

I don't know of another convection vape that is that small and works that well. I am a flavor man, and IMO, convection cannot be beat for flavor.

I cannot understand why you would flog a company you have never done business with? I usually wait until after I purchase a product before I make a decision to give the product a thumbs up or down.

And for the life of me, I cannot find the Chrysler K car on any of Chryslers new car websites, it's almost as if they quit selling them after they came out with a new model. That's okay though, I never buy Chryslers anyway, I just wanted to complain that I couldn't.

Please do not get me wrong, I do not hate you, but I DO hate being around complainers, especially complainers that have nothing to go on but conjecture. Just like the Congressman whom will not vote for legalization, just because of the things he has heard from others.

If you tried the product and did not like it, feel free to complain all you want. But please don't waste my time and the time of others with your 'angry for no reason' posts. I vape to make myself happy, not to read inane posts from people that have misplaced anger issues.

I call 'em as I see 'em ...

I was going to say something but you captured the gist of it so no need :)

Does the EO core handle bubble hash too? I've been waiting for a portable to do water extracts effectively for a while. However, I was hoping to only need 1 core for the Cera since portable flower vape isn't all that important to me.

Thanks

Not very effectively. Bubble has a lot more plant matter in it than shatter. I believe the flower Cera will handle it best.

I do not know how to link video's and not even sure if that is allowed to do from someones website.but here is the link to the page of said videos below

http://thermovape.com/cera-videos/

pretend for a second u do not know about FC and all the "extra info" that it gives us. a LOT of people these days would rather watch a video that read. I went to their site and did both, read and watched. and in BOTH video of this cera it claims to be "award winning".*as I side note both video are very professional looking.

Go there yourselves and watch the vids its as clear as day right in the very center of the video(towards the ends). saying a new product is revolutionary is something MANY products in many markets claim , award winning is not, and if something actually won an award there is always PROOF of such claim/statement. this is VERY misleading at best.

with all the manufacture and market experience they have in this and closely related niche markets. I find it odd how professional their site and the 2 cera site videos are and how ones they share here ALL have sensationalism of some sort, its quite a stark contrast.

and what is with having popular vapes in the video? that bit surprised me too. disappointed in your other vaping products?, and why not show likely the most popular vape first the MFLB. I wonder how many people watching will realize their "factory" shots are not even of the cera but the T1. and the video says "available now"

what is the shipping charge for one cera , battery and charger? I'm not about to fill in all my personal and card particulars to see how much shipping costs. I feel safe in assuming that this is going to set me back 300+ $$$, as I doubt someone who wants to charge me separate fees for a battery and charger that is 100% needed to use the unit is going to ship it for free.

price? 249.99 its NOT, its 294.96 for the unit, charger and one battery. call it what it actually is 294.96 not 249.99.This was done for one reason , to make the unit appear cheaper than what it is. most folks see these 2 different prices , their minds will snap to 250 and 300 and 250 sounds better that 300 dollars to EVERYone.

I have ,since seeing this, looked around at many vapes that use battery power and they all seem to have a battery and charger included in the asking price, and sell spares /replacements of each should u need them.

300 + dollar vapes puts this cera in a very small corner of an already niche market and to have gone about things the way they have, rubs me wrong. Perhaps its because I'm not rich, and perhaps those that are buying one of these have much more disposable income and therefore having to pay over and above the 249.99 asking price of the unit just to have the 100% needed battery and charger making the REAL cost 294.96 does not bother them. bottom line is I would actually consider purchase of a cera if the 250 actually got me a working unit I could vape with but find 300 a lot harder to swallow. but I assume they took such things into consideration and this is aimed at more fortunate folks.

and all you supporters can rest easy as I have made my points and will not be commenting on them further.

I respect your opinion Stone_man, and even agree with some of your points in that they could have gone about things better ... As for the battery/charger, I personally have to purchase them as I don't have any 18650 batteries or charger myself (currently); however many people already have these batteries and charger and would prefer to have the choice to opt out (basically you can't make everyone happy).

Others have already commented on the other vapes in the vids (TV doesn't only get love from us fans) and the comments were similarly unflattering.

The one thing I do know is that they seem to be trying hard to make as many people happy as possible, but as always in business ... This is an impossible goal.

FYI ... Shipping to Canada is about $25

I think you missed the beginning where it was said that TET listened to the people here. The people who own the T1 not me, asked for things to be al a carte. The reason being is that most of them have charges and batteries and didn't want to be forced to buy more unless they wanted to. I agree it is for most of us a $300 vape. I also don't think people are rich here. If you have been around a while you can see a lot of people selling off there collections in the classifieds to fund this vape. I am not sticking up for TET but this was all up front which is why I know the reason since I am not really there customer. I have bought a glass adapter and a smooth flow from them that is it. Now if all this was a huge secret then maybe your point would be valid. I can see if someone wasn't a FC member it would be a bit confusing as to why they did it but you are here with more then a 100 posts so you might have read it or not :hmm:

I did not miss anything, at least I don't think I did. I think perhaps some here have missed some things or are just choosing to ignore what they have seen. and its actually because I know they have design, manufacture and marketing experience that some of their tactics or choices rub me wrong. this is not a very first product launch for them yet they tell people its available now, with their experience why did they not simply say its going to be released in January or February when they would actually have all needed parts on hand, my personal feeling is they wanted to get as much of the xmas dollars folks were spending, and hopefully you would not by say a MFLB but give them your money instead. I would be totally bummed if I had ordered this for a friend as a Christmas gift with what they say leading me to believe I'd have it BEFORE xmas. But I suppose I'm not supposed to think about such things either right? You all need to bear in mind members of this forum are NOT the only people that buy vape products.

I did not just dream this stuff up, from these things posted on their site, I would feel I should not muck about trying to use something I may already have to power the cera.

again I return you to their site and the faq page. http://thermovape.com/cera-faq/

What batteries can be used in the Cera?

We use custom made 18650 2900 mAh 3.7V Rechargeable battery for our Cera Vaporizers. They are made with japanese cell, and the protective circuitry is over wrapped in the US. We recommend using these batteries explicitly as we have done testing and research. Do not use an ICR Li-Co un-protected lithium ion, lithium cobalt batteries. Any battery has to be protected with a minimum 2C. Some of the technical specifications and specific mechanical or physical details of the parts of the Cera in which are fully manufactured by outside suppliers such as our rechargeable batteries and mechanical safety switch are subject to change, in specifications but not overall performance value. These changes are subject to change without prior notification.

What does the Cera Vaporizer come with?

When ordering your Cera Vaporizer you can choose to add on accessories in the box on the right hand side. The Vaporizer comes with the body itself, mouthpiece, and switch (what you see in the picture) and the chosen Cartridge/Heating core inside. Choosing "Liquid Vaporizer" with no additional accessories will get you the Cera Vaporizer with one Liquid cartridge in your choice of stainless steel or titanium. You will need to add a battery and charging kit if you do not currently have those. Our batteries are custom made for us and are highly recommend for use with the Cera even if you have a one comprable.

now if you were not a FC member how would you read it?

and how would you feel about them telling you its available NOW, and its AWARD WINNING, when they put that up it was NOT available and they show no proof what so ever about a product that is not even out is actually award winning. most anyone would think, yeah its expensive BUT its award winning it must be worth it.

no proof of winning any awards did I find on their site OR in this thread. please point it out should I have missed this award info, as I am most interested in reading about it.

Always in a state of confusion and silliness♀
I said if I wasn't a member I would read it wrong and if I didn't I wrote it in my head. I don't have an issue with the battery part since it says "recommended" and I of course would get those hence saying yes it is $300. I personally if I do end up with one will get two batteries. I totally agree with the award winning part and maybe they are talking about the T1(don't know if that won an award), which would not be a clear representation. If that is the case and again I have no idea it should read that we have already won an award with our T1 and this vape is far better or whatever.

As some have said this is the information age and with computers and such we are privy to a lot of things that I and many of the older folks on here never were growing up. I find it fascination to look at how things work. They even made a TV show about it. I think with the good comes the bad cause we get to nit pick on things that we would have never known about in the past. We would go to a "store" and buy a product and not know a damn thing about it except your friend has one and likes it.

I have learned from my son that people now feel entitled and I do understand it but it is a double edge sword. I personally have no issue with what you said. I just thought you missed the part when TET said they made it al a carte cause that is what people wanted. They didn't use those words however.

If I wasn't on FC and went to that site I would be confused as hell. Then again I wouldn't have even heard of them if I wasn't on this site.

Remember on the net we can't hear inflections or find the true meaning of what people are trying to say. This is also a new generation thing. I think they forgot about phones and other verbal communications. Oh well us old folk have to get used to it.

Edit: If you want to continue this I think it belongs in the jibberish thread. It is just opinions and that is great on any level to me cause we are all entitled to them.

What happened to that?

what happened to marketing a product honestly and with no misleading or deceptive info being given?

for your info I would be reacting the same way regardless of who was using such ways to sell a product. its wrong at worst or in poor taste at best.

this may be the greatest vape unit the world has ever seen and ever will, that remains to be seen. I'm sorry that my views are not falling in line with those of others, but I'm not the one trying to push my brand new vape entry into the market either.I do not take issue with the unit but the way they go about some marketing decisions. I believe we are still allowed to form our own opinions about any and everything. they show other makers products , not cool, unfounded claim the cera is award winning, not cool, and charge the buyer extra to actually have a working unit, not cool. and that is my opinion. like it or not.

Hello first post here, been lurking for almost a year now. I purchased a LSV last year based on the recommendations I read here and it is definitely one of the best if not the best desktop vaporizer, IF paired with a WA; it certainly makes the best clouds I've seen, very happy with it. However I can't say the same for the MFLB, didn't quite found what I was looking for, so got rid of that one quickly. Recently these two showed up, the Cera and the Pax; did a little comparison and no doubt, quickly made my mind on the Cera. I went ahead and took the plunge for the new Cera LL(too bad EO core and batteries are extra), hopefully it will live up to it's hype.

I decided to get the charger and the batteries myself while waiting for my pre-order, if any of you know the deal with the batteries could you help me out if I found the right batteries? (Sorry if merchant links are not allowed)

You can sit here and continue to argue about everything, or you can listen to what people are telling you. The unit is 249.99, not 294.96. It is 294.96 only IF you need the battery and charger, many people already have these from other electronics so it isn't right to make them buy them. If you don't have a battery and charger then yes it is 294.96.
Read the thread and the website and you will see how expensive the raw materials the Cera is made of are, then you might understand why it costs so much. Or you could go to another manufacture and buy their $250 vape made of cheap plastics that will off gas, potentially (no, definitely) jeopardizing your health!!! This is a medical vaporizer made of all medical grade materials, this is not cheap.

Next, nowhere on the website does it say available now. It does say preorder with a star next to it, meaning you are buying an item that is not available yet but will be available in the future.

If you still have issues with all of this, then by all means DON'T BUY IT. No one has a gun to your head pressuring you to buy. You will be the one missing out on the most cutting edge personal vaporizer, not us, and not ThermoVape!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is at the end of a promotional video. Maybe by available now they mean available to preorder now. It's all in how you interpret it.

As to the "award winning" in a blog post they said, "The Cera Essential Oil Vaporizer replaces the Revolution with the next generation of our award winning essential oil vaporizers." An award winning line of products not individual product.

Hey, he was 'good to his word' for nearly two hours......better than some.

No real questions to ask, or new points to make, just looking to make trouble? Sometimes that happens I guess. For my money, I think KK has the topical advice:

I might also hypothesize that the video was created with the intent of being able to continue to use it after launch. Making relatively professional videos can be expensive and I doubt they want to pay the extra to change a few words ... just some thoughts. Might also have not known they would be releasing the video before the Cera was actually available. (Things have a way of changing :))

Edit: Ok ... can't help myself ... it's the hypomanic side coming out (I really have a hard time helping myself ... really) ... so ... for what it's worth or for whomever cares, I actually enjoy the friendly banter around differing opinions and often that results in some interesting overlooked key points coming back up for the newcomers so that they don't have to hunt through hundreds of pages. I find frequently that when researching a vape one finds what one needs in the friendly banter in the last X number of pages ... because the key likes/dislikes recur and the greater the like/dislike the larger the amount of resulting conversation ... sort of like a gauge of magnitude of like/dislike :)

... anyway ... I've probably contributed to cluttering up this thread enough with my banter so ... really ... this is my last post in this chain ... really ... (I wonder how long I'll be able to be 'good to my word' ;))

Didn't the T1 win an award? I'm pretty sure it did.

And if so then yes TET is award winning, meaning Cera is a product of the award winning series.

Don't read too much into it, jeeze.

This thing OBVIOUSLY blows everything else out of the water sky high.

If the T1 does (which it does), the Cera will be AT LEAST 2x as better. That should be enough words in itself.

If its not for you then so be it, but given my experience this is the vaporizer for me. Hands down.
