Discontinued Thermovape Cera (Original thread, closed because of chaos)

Batteries will continue to get better. There is a lot of T1 DNA in the Cera, but the Cera is fundementally different by design. thermal condom mitigates any heat issues, which are already reduced from the T1.

We offer LV T1 cores for use with an 17670 battery. That would give you T2 (lower power, better battery life) performance. You can email info@thermovape.com and just let us know what you want to do. It would be a battery, (charger perhaps) and the core.

Keep in mind that the T1 will not change over the next few years, it is what it is, however, battery technology is changing. Batteries will get better every year, much like computer processors. This is why we make a device wth a removable battery . It allows the device to evolve with the battery life.

We will not be making any new T1 parts. We have sufficient inventory to warranty the units on the market if needed and keep peoples T1's running until my daughter takes over the business in 20 years ;).

We cannot move backwards, only forward. Our commitment is to deliver the best product we can as soon as we can. The Cera is the best product we can deliver. it took us 4+ years to get here. Full steam ahead.

Cheers.

Noah
What type of modifications would it take to the T1 to be able to use the Cera Batts in it?

Futuretvowner,
Hey Noah its good so see that you can take your frustration out on the cera with the cera on ceramics lol  btw you should have definately eaten that cinnamon roll before the demo....lol

What type of modifications would it take to the T1 to be able to use the Cera Batts in it?

The type of modifications that would require a miracle. We managed a few prototypes that do this... we moved on. The Cera is the future. The T1 wil always be viable, the World's first portable powered convection vaporizer for your pocket, 30 watts of power, good device. Keep in mind batteries keep getting better and better, capacity will increase. Hang onto it, the performance of the device in terms of battery will continue to improve over time.

Is there any chance there will be an adapter to allow the cera essential oil heater core and mouthpiece setup with our pre-existing 510 battery configs? What's the current needs of cera? I can push 15W, or 20W with stacked 3.7V IMRs.

Yes. We will make these if needed. We have offered this option to a few other small companies in America trying to get into the e-cig adapter business. If they dont want to we will. Piece of M510 to F3/8ths and F510 to M3/8ths. Open source platform.

Power needs of an EO or LL is 15 watts.

That should say .5 Pure Gold no? .05 is off...

Correct! Thank you, we made the annotation. Keeping us honest.

Was that just the mouthpiece on the video at the end? No heat cover? Like a small silicone whip/mouthpiece extending out.
Standard ThermoVape Extended Tru-flow drip tip, 510 compatible, white USA sourced Delrin.
We are throwing one in with every EO and VG kit or cart that is purchased for the foreseeable future (after the pre-sale as well) as a thank you. 510 drip tips and mouthpieces only work on the Cera Essential Oil (CEO) Vaporizer, and the Cera Vegetable glycerol (CVG) Vaporizer.
All CEO and CVG models are completely compatible with most 510 mouthpieces and any of our Thermovape first generation accessories that replace the mouthpiece (Like the Rev glass Adapter/whip).
If you remove the mouthpiece it is a perfect 1/2" opening, many, many options. One example is that the tubing we use Advantapure, has an OD the is just a smidge over 1/2" so you can remove the mouth piece and just put a tube in there if you want a whip. Piece of cake.
We made the device hoping people would utilize and benefit from it being the most open source, mod friendly vaporizer ever built.
Cheers,
Noah

Alright, this is the follow up to the Pure Gold Demonstration. this video starts up exactly where that video left off. I am going to go out on a limb, before you guys see this, and just say... the performance from a waxy essential oil from the Cera seems adequate......Noah

The Cera seems to be holding up better than you. Your "I just wish it would be finished already" reminds me of when I have to evaluate battery capacity. The results are worth it, but getting there gets tired quickly.

Typo at the end; it was 0.5g of PG, not .05g.

I should of done it in two videos. Going from the PG right to the WX was pretty serious. I did not expect the 0.25 to run so long. The Cera worked me over, I pretty much just gave up and tried to kill the battery.

Not my usually pre-work morning routine. ;)

Cheers.

(I could not, can not, and will not attempt any volume over 0.1g in a Cera EO to be vaporized to completion in 15 minutes or less (length of a youtube video) someone who is better then me at vaping will have to post those.
Did you finally find that personal threshold, that you said had previously eluded you? If so, I think we witnessed it, right with about 6 pulls left on the PG. I personally threw a towel at my screen to get the ref in there, but to no avail...
Thanks for working hard guys!

Defiantly my pre-breakfast personal threshold. That is for certain. ;)

I cant believe this statement has been just glossed over?? (or did you guys leave it there just for me?)

'' Now the Cera with full thermal condom, looks like a sex toy, could be a sex toy, probably will be a sex toy for someone. That's fine, as long as it help you have an effective alternative to smoking, any other way it can effectively satisfy you (or others, no judgment ;)) is just gravy IMO''

It's all fun and games til some pot head chick gets clogged with a Cera Top Cap MP.

A little vulgar, but jusst sayin.

Very cool. I'm curious to see how the e-cig crowd reacts to the EL cart. Nothing like it out there, for sure.

And for some reason I thought the EO was closer to 10 watts? What's the resistance on the EO cart?

Salutations ThermoVape,

I'm sure this has been asked before so i plead guilty but i'll write it down anyway:

Suppose a heater element is definitively dead, can the owner request for a replacement coil to be sent to him via snail-mail in a standard envelope or similar?

:hmm:

I didn't see much reluctance on your part. Against whom or what were you resisting or rebelling?

The clock, running it as a continuous take... the Cera wouldn't give up easy. The last few, I was ready to admit defeat.

That makes two of us. What we improved upon was flavor, capacity, and effectiveness, when compared to our AVA atomizers. The natural evolution of the AVA.

You send it in, we rebuild your core, and send it on back. For the technically minded it could be user replaceable but you would have to be pretty skilled to get it together right. there is some pretty detailed steps.

We used to just send replacement parts. I set a limit on what we we could lose doing this (i.e. sending new parts out and never recieving the warranty part back. 10K in 3 quarters, it was drowning us, and what little profit margin we had got chewed up by warranty non-returns and scammers. Unfortunately there are a lot of scammers out there that take adavantage of ompanies with open warranty policies. A few bad apples... it really hurt our business. Now we wait to receive the part, we generate a RMA as soon as we hear of the problem. If it within warranty, we send you a link to print off a return label, free of charge, fix it and send it back. If it is OUT of warranty, we charge $10 for the rebuild unless it is broken, then we charge $10 for labor + parts at cost. The shipping to and from Thermo_essence is at your discretion and request.

our new core is about 10X stronger then the T1 core. Probably not going to break it under normal use. You would have to abuse it. The new gauge wire we use can handle the thermal load, for years. It can run all day and never even come close to burnout temps.

cheers,

Noah

I know nothing about batteries. Have you guys heard about any new batteries in development that will work with the T1? If not when do you guys think there will be a new battery out for the T1?

The T1 uses a very uncommon battery size (17670), it's skinnier than the battery in the Cera (18650).

Many Japanese companies will come out with new standard size 18650's (18mm wide x 650mm long)
because it's the same size used in laptop batteries.

But few companies of any origin will produce the uncommon 17670's (17mm wide x 670mm long)

Never mind, i simply had the impression this might be part of some "deluxe"/"modeler" concept (as in the "DIY Bulli Vaporizer" thread, actually)!... I thought i had seen "hex" screws after all...

A few bad apples...

Thank you for this prompt reply and good luck with these apples!...

Quick question regarding safety switch earlier in the thread it was mentioned that there would be an option for a removable safety switch or the standard back and forth style like was shown in original promo vids, but a few pages later it sounded like you made some design changes and ALL ceras will now come with removable keychain style switch is that correct? a little confused about that one. Other than that keep up good work guys really cool to see company with such passion and dedication been very impressed.

Noah,
Thank you for your clarity and candor on these two points:

No rush. The Cera is the product of 9 cermic tools that cannot be changed, this is what she will be like, forever.

So yes, the prices are going up, 12/1/2013 all Cera prodcts (anything with Ceramic or Metal) will go up. They will go up again 12/1/2014 again. Best case a Cera will cost you 4% more starting 12/2014... worst case is 10%.

I'd be willing to bet there are several other folks like me who thought they would be clever and wait..... wait for the price to go down, and wait for the inevitable design changes that come after an initial release.

Knowing that's not going to happen changes things a bit..... now I just have to figure out how to explain to my wife why her Christmas present is a $400 marital aid that blows clouds :)

I am starting to wonder if I will even need the EO cart. I put it on the order just to have it... hmmm :hmm:

Excellent point, it's all relative. I sure don't need one (I have other options), but having used one I really really want one. Hey, I sure don't need a second one just for PG so I won't be tempted to burn through $40 of PG to get back to 'normal oils', but it seems I've lost that argument as well..... I rationalized it away as being 'less than 3 vials of PG'. Easy to do if you look hard enough, at least it always has been for me. A Christmas present to myself.....which of course I deserve. Right?

But for occasional use on a constraining budget, mixing the concentrate with bud in the LL also works IMO.

Hi Noah, are the plumbing type 3/8th thread the correct type?

images

If so, I would assume it would be possible to attach a 510 male to the nut portion here? Of course having the center contact pass through as well.

Or the other way around.

Pipes, yet another example of why you are my hero! Ever have an 'inside the box' idea? Not many lately I bet.

Someday, if I ever grow up, I wanna be just like you......
