New to vaporizing.

My friend who lives in california just got an atmos raw and he says hes inlove with it and said i should get one. Im trying to get educated on what these things actually do. He smokes weed and i dont because it makes me paranoid but i do smoke hookah and ciggs. He also mentioned something about him using oils and wax? What do those do? I dont mind trying something that is going to relax me. Neither hookah or ciggs relax me its just smoke if you ask me. Someone also game me an e cigg that i would charge and insert cartridges. It was ment to have nicotine but no tobacco. Any would be greately appreciated thanks! Like i said i will not try any type of weed altho im all for it.

You can use other herbs with vaporizers but most who buy them intend to use with cannabis. e-cigs are a cigarette substitute, containing nicotine, and intended to provide the 'nic fix' without all the chemicals (and smoke) you get with cigs. If you're interested in vaping legal herbs then the e-cig type of vape is not appropriate. Oils and wax contain THC- not your interest. It seems to me that your friend's intro to vaping has gotten him excited and he's passed on his excitement to you. But the reality is that, considering your stated interest, there's really nothing here for you unless you'd like to vape legal herbs, and again, e-cig type vapes are not suited for plant material.

101 what? Like I said, the e-cig style of vape is not what you need for vaping herb, and that's all you've mentioned. You're in the right place for vaporizer info, but so far you haven't asked the right questions. Are you looking for a portable or an AC powered vape? What's your budget?

No budget here. I want to get educated on legal herbs since i cant smoke the illigal stuff. Now ive seen stuff called K2 on the counter of smoke shops around here but ive seen ppl end up in my ER for this stuff.

Ezrah: I've seen many nasty reports on synthetic cannabis like K2 here. Its synthetic cannabinoid, which act on the same receptors like THC but differently and "more aggresively". They have their effects limit higher that THC. Producing narcotic effects which cannabis isn't even capable of. It's bullshit that that stuff is legal and cannabis not. It's strong stuff that overexcites cannbinoid receptors. If anyone doesn't like cannabis, that would probably be hell for him. I've never done that and don't want to. It's scary.

ezrah, you need to check the thread that smokum linked. The other link he provided is also excellent for finding out what effects different herbs provide. You want to avoid K2/Spice and any herbal blends you find in head shops. Do some reading and get more educated on the subject, then ask any further questions you have in the vaporizables thread.
