theres nothing to be concerned about when removing the spring if you do it like i stated in the post above. just an ordinary spring you twist in and out, and it solved your exact problem very easily.

I'll probably give it a shot, just don't want to do anything that would take the chance of negating my warranty.

A friend of mine has one of these... i have yet to try it but hear only good news about it... the worst iv'e heard is that the mouth piece gets build up and gits sticky but that's it...

Any tips you can give me for cleaning methods? Currently, I do the iso bristly pipe cleaner for the air path, the iso swab of the oven and screen, a light iso swab of the air path hole and a dry clean of the upper spring path with those little teeth cleaners.

Should I iso the teeth cleaners? Anything else you can suggest? I'd rather not pull the spring. As much as I'd hate to go without for even a day, I feel like I would send it back to Ploom before doing that. But maybe there is something else I can add to my regiment?

I always put iso on the teeth cleaners and have had stellar results. I never remove the spring. Sometimes I do what pakalolo suggested, which is to dip the MP in iso and then put it back in and actuate a few times while holding the Pax upside down so no iso drips on the temp button. Good luck Dude!

Hi Forum and fellow pax owners. I too should be receiving my first Pax by tomorrow. I paid for overnight on Friday so I guess that means Tues to vapeworld. Thanks Vapeworld for processing so slow that the amount I paid for overnight means nothing now. Maybe you could send me some freebies to make up for your slowness.
Ok, I'm done ranting. This will be my first quality vape. I've had a vape bros wooden box/whip style before but it sucked. I'm hoping to conserve my flowers as I'm spending way too much per month. Could anyone commemt on how much the pax is actually saving them? If I can cut it in half ill be doing good.
I've heard the pax referred to as a european car. Meaning it can be finicky at times. I own a european car so I can respect that. Although like the pax its under warranty still. Lol
Im hoping I won't miss smoking too much. I really enjoy a good strong hit which I hear the pax provides. Ill proly get another back up pax just in case I gotta send it in. Providing I love my new 250.00 dollar gadget. Which I'm expecting I will. Cya.

Pax saved me almost $300 already. I was a new convert from combustion, and had my Pax for about 2 months? I dont buy lighters, wraps, and my tree lasts an extra 3-4 days. (I have about 10 bucks in quarters alone lol)

I sent my Pax in for replacement, and Im running through my bud now, even though I baked cookies earlier last week. (From vaped tree)

I am a very happy pax owner. But, that being said there are much better options for conserving. If you are looking for a portable then I'd say the Solo. Some say the MFLB is great at conserving and I can see how that could be. I just personally never had any real success with the MFLB. If you want a home unit I have been blown away by the amount I am conserving with my Underdog. It's been very refreshing :) Hope that helps a little.

So... I clean up my Pax all nice, nice so I can sell. But of course, now that it's spotlessly clean it's running great and I don't want to sell it anymore! Damn I love/hate this thing. Somebody smack me if I start saying I'm going to sell this again!

Had my Pax for a few weeks. Love it, had a mouthpiece issue which required me to get a replacement one, they delivered it Friday & I got it Monday morning, considered this amazing especially because I didn't order it directly from Ploom. Wasnt aware you get a sticker too.

Anyways, I once had a puffit which I enjoyed. But this def beats it. Battery life is incredible, only con is the mouthpiece.Highly recommend

Thanks everyone for all the comments. I'm very excited to get my pax tomorrow. Hopefully by lunch I can enjoy it. I seem to be spending around 600.00 per month on flowers. I figure the Pax will pay for itself withen the first month. I'm looking forward to the health benefits as well.

I am a bit worried about the "high" however, or lack of "stone". My thinking has been this....after I vape I could always take a hit or two of the vaped flowers out of my bowl. This way i can still get some CBN's or whatever. Or for all you pax owners, when you turn it on high right away...or say after you vape med-low, do you still get a body high at all? I would hate to completely get rid of what makes me feel oh so relaxed. Then I've heard people say they get majorly stoned off of vapes also. Guess ill just have to find out. :)

Thats the fun part, experimenting with the vape and the high...

When i started vaping, id get really high, and it seemed like a very 'clean', head high and left me with energy. in general , it seems that after a few bowls (over-medicate), for me, it starts to hit my body a bit more... just my :2c:

Once you get used to vaping, yellow will be your favorite temp because it keeps the flavor the longest. If you find it's not enough to compare with smoking you can start on medium until you're used to vaping. Medium will give some strong vape, if you find you need to start on high I'd be really surprised, but I have no doubts that would satisfy even the iron-est of lungs ;)

same thing happens to me, i call in to get mine returned for a refund, clean it up and end up using it again, now i use the blow into the mouth piece trick and never have trouble medicating with the pax..

and i agree with others the solo saves a lot of herb

pax has saved me a bunch of money, i got it in october and before that i used to buy a 25 pack box of zig zag blunt wraps PER WEEK..
so thats 50+ blunts a week. 15$ a week for a pack of 25.

saved about 60-80 bucks per month since october, so the pax is almost paying itself off, well it actually has in how much bud i save too..

Ploom needs to put some sort of rubberized coating over that temp switch IMO. I would still like to know if there is any way for the ISO to leak into the switch through the spring area, if anyone follows me?

Totally agree. I'm not positive if ISO can get in there that way but I will say this: I read this thread and was well aware of the temp button and iso problem before I bought it. I was very careful about getting iso there. I never had a single problem with it UNTIL I pulled out the spring and cleaned in there with a little iso. I was still careful, but came away with a stuck button. YMMV of course and it was probably my fault but wanted to put that out there. Oh and the spring itself was fine, I know you were worried about that too... I'd say still avoid ISO though.

Anyway my brand new replacement is here. Dropped broken Pax at PO in Manhattan Tuesday morning, got replacement Monday. Pretty good. The oven is so shiny and silver... time to stain that bitch up.

Give a little time to get used to the difference of vaping and smoking and within a week, you will never want to smoke again. Not only is it SO much nicer in terms of taste, flavor, smell, etc., but the high is so much better as well. It's much more heady and "clear" than a high from smoking. Some people take a little longer than others, but I have not yet met anyone who has made the transition who ever cares to smoke again if they can help it. And when you do, you'll remember why you didn't want to in the first place. LOL

You picked a good vape to make the transition as the Pax is a heavy hitter. Make sure to pack the oven fairly tight. It doesn't need to be jammed in there, but just a nice full oven tamped down does it. The hits are much thicker like this. As someone in transition, you will probably want to start on medium, get a good 6-7 hits and then stir and switch to high for another 2-4 good hits. YMMV of course, and do note also that unlike smoking, the clouds you get with a vape can vary greatly for several reason, not the least of which is the quality of the material. In general, the thicker the trichs, the heavier the hits.

After awhile you will want to start playing with the temp settings. I've found by working through the heat settings, I can get the most out of a full oven. I start on low, get a good round of good hits, stir and switch to medium, get another round of good hits, and stir and switch to high for a last round of hits. Sometimes I can get nice and high 2-3 times on one oven using this method.

Oh man, you have a lot of fun times ahead of you. If you're anything like me, you will next be looking for a home unit and then a back-up portable and maybe another home unit or three. And that Cloud sure looks nice ... Be prepared to get down with the sickness. :D

Have fun dude.

Edit: Oh and don't throw away the abv (already been vaped). You can cook with it to get all the good stuff out of it. Make butter with it and whip up some cookies. They make great sedatives.

could someone post about how many ovens they get on a full charge before the battery goes to red? also it'd helpful if you say about how full you pack your ovens.

Completely full. I can run 3 full bowls thru all 3 cycles. May be able to go longer but, thats when I charge.

I get maybe 4-6 half packed bowls (yellow -> medium, then flip, medium, dump) before it flashes red.

this thing is also my go to when I wake up at weird hours and don't want to wait for my Cloud to heat up... getting me nice and toasty bonging it on high at 4:30 in the a.m. I am up because the local crazy girl was hanging out on our front porch making strange noises... no I am not the craziest one around these parts...

I get 3 ovens packed DEAD FULL and tight.
I vape them on medium.
There appears to be power left, but I never risk an interrupted session, so I charge after that.
