VaporSnake

OK boys and ....hey, did you guys notice we ain't got no girls here? :/ I guess it's just us boys with the toys.

Anyway, the VaporSnake - It bites. Sorry, couldn't resist. I first saw the Snake on the Vaporstore site, and my reaction was . I knew it must be a decent vape. Vaporstore doesn't sell junk. It was pricy at $299 though ($250 now). I wasn't that curious. Then I heard from this guy who had used and owned a lot of different models and liked the Snake best due to the vapor hits. Now I was really curious but it was still 3 bills. Some months later I ran across a Vaporstore demo at half price and caved in to my curiousity.

It's ceramic. Good material as long as you don't break it. The base is made from a mold and the snake part is hand made. You can see how it works from the youtube vid. The bowl is cut from the neck and just slides in and out. It's the best part of the vape by far, IMO. The 1" screen is so easy to put in/take out of the bowl it makes me sick that I don't like it. The other bowl feature that I love/hate is that the ceramic heater is above the bowl, so you can leave the bowl in place for hours without losing any vapor through ambient heat. There's no whip. Just tubing that goes into the ceramic base. If it's sitting beside you, all you have to do is pick up the tube and hit it. I can't think of an easier vape to use.

The bad parts for me-

1) There are a few inches of hot ceramic below the snake's head, right where you'd be inclined to grab it. They spell out 'HOT' in the hot area to remind you, but that just fucks up the looks IMO.

2) Too much water. Made too much noise and it just didn't do anything for me. In moving it around I ended up spilling water a few times too. You'd need a really big hand to one-hand this vape.

3) Too much air. It irritated my throat. Made me reach for my water bottle after nearly every hit. I couldn't get a big vapor hit without getting way too much air to suit my taste. I much prefer the tiny heater cover opening on the SSV. The large airway on the Snake was the real deal breaker.

If you like bongs you may like the Snake. Although I love the bowl aspects, the overall package just doesn't suit me.

Cool review, thanks for sharing. I remember seeing a link on the Snake a while ago but didn't really check it out. One of those almost mythical vapes you never hear about. :D

Here's their website.

Usage demo video

Pretty out there design, snake coiled around a little propane tank, like the vape a biker would have. Cool how the bowl fits in.

Yes, that bubbling is almost comically loud and yeah, the vapor he exhales looks to be pretty tiny for the amount of time he was hauling on it.

How did it hit with no water?

Only tried it once without water. The only improvement was no noisy water sound. It just draws too much air for me. Very low vapor/air ratio. Like you say, the exhale shows it. But it does do a good job-no overcooking and soooo easy to use. Love that bowl setup. And some people like the way it hits. But high density hits are my preference, so the Snake's gotta find a new home. Probably a good thing since my wife hates it.

At least the snake looks pretty cool... :)
My wife didn't think so. Make no mistake, the VaporSnake works well, and has some convenience features going for it. Price has dropped to $200 too. It just pulls in too much air with the hits for my taste.

Thanks for the review. I agree, it certainly is a vape one wants to like. I always like things decorated like that.

It looks like a jug band's awesome lead jug soloist's custom jug. A bagpipe jug maybe?
There was a time in my life when I would have been satisfied with that level of vapor. I crave dense hits nowadays. Even a lower temp hit needs to be milky not airy.
Everything about this vape and the usage video scream THE SEVENTIES at me.
