My friends call me "Menz"
The Extreme Q.... "Jack of all trades... yetr masyter of none!"
I get my tubing ONLY from 7th floor.
After a search of many years, and a relationship with three tubing producers(including US Plastics)
I found SSV/DBV tubing the best ( I have bought over 300 feet of SSV tubing, and over 100 of "Tygon" heat safe tubing from USPlastics)
There is no comparison, and you will only save pennies on the dollar!
Hardware store tubing is NOT FOOD AND BEVERAGE GARDE... nor is it MEDICAL GRADE, as you can buy at US Plastics.... Then......
US Plastics tube is stiff and crude compared to DBV/SSV tubing from 7th floor...
7th Floor LLC, liked Tygon Tubing, but wanted an even safer and more flexible/supple alternative.
In order to have one of the worlds largest tubing manufacturer prosduce a special formula available ONLY to 7th Floor LLC., they had to commission enough tubing to go around the earth 9 times!
That a,mount has been consumed by the Vaporists of the world, and they are now on their next batch of special tubing.... commissioned to circle the globe 9 times~
I use nothing else for SSV/DBV sized tubing needs!

i have always bought mine from 7th floor before and i see there is really no reason to stop. i just hope i don't spend too much money as i go there for tubing and screens and i end up with those and more... hehehe

I like the soft(though, I would like to try the semi soft of this type of tubing) high temperature silicone tubing from McMaster Carr.

Hey guys

How many amps does a DBV use? My Solo for example uses 5 amps when using the power adapter.

I wanted to get a DBV but may sometimes need to use it in the car with an inverter, so wanted to know the amperage rating before taking the plunge.

There may be something printed on the bottom of the unit

There is nothing on amperage there, it is drawing 25W. The Solo draws 45W, 5Ax9V.

Thanks for that number, I'm assuming its 110v, but that would only mean .22 amps? That can't be right.

Definitely right that the Solo draws 45W.

Do you guys think it would work with a cig lighter circuit with a 15amp fuse?

7th floor tubing is the Bugatti of tubes - I continuously by from them.

I own a 220V unit but on the bottom it said 120VAC 60 Hz 25W. I would ask 7thfloor for a more acurate number or if its compatible.

I can confirm it works as I tried it last night. 15amp fuse in my car is for the cig. lighter and clock, and I had a 150W power inverter I plugged into the cig lighter, and the DBV did infact work flawlessly with no problems.

Is this better and a later model of the ssv? does this use plastics only to draw through? (do you get glass option with it)

Come on man, have you read ANYTHING?? The DBV is a whip vape, as is the SSV and it is an anterior model to the DBV. The LSV can be used with a whip but it is more inclined to be used with a bong or with a glass wand used dry.

Wrong, that is subjective to your opinion regarding the use of a gong heater cover or the non-gong HC in the SSV.

Plus, the SSV has a tilted shape to prevent the herbs from falling into the element, although that only happened to me once because i coughed into the whip.

The SSV also has a smaller intake hole that allows for a more rich hit.

They are all rubbish to me unless they are made and sold in uk i dont wanna no anymore fed up with all the hidden postage charge for companies within usa , why cant you just be straight with us and stop wasting our time free is free dont they no that, (vapenow , being main culprit)

Check www.paradox.co.uk, or www.vaposhop.com, or verdampftnochmal.de, or lacentralevapeur.com. All 4 of them are in europe.

And next time try to make a post that we can understand/is on topic/in the right thread.

Hello mate...the DBV is the entry level and SSV is the enthusiast level. Both work on the same principle but the SSV can be more customised an also has a tilt down for a better vaping experience as Vorrage pointed out. LSV is a more practical hand held version also based on the same principle. All 3 have the cleanest vapor path as the heat rides up through a ceramic element straight through the herbs and then through the whip of using DBV or SSV. The LSV is a glass option in reply to your plastics concern, however the DBV and SSV both have whips made of high quality medical grade silicone which won't distort taste or cause any toxins so as good as a glass path!

Cough cough :)

From somebody who started with the OG SSV and ended up with a DBV..

I had ALOT of fun with my SSV. I mean alot. This was probably in late 2006. It was my first REAL vape (other than cheap digi vapes that combusted everything). It almost determined the basis of my smoking (or vaping) career.

Anyways, eventually when my focuses were set elsewhere and I wasnt vaping (or smoking) much, it sat there and I ended up selling it because I was broke at the time.

Not long after I regretted selling it and needed them fresh vape rips again. But was still slightly broke. My buddy (whom actually got me to buy the ssv) convinced me the DBV is probably better for me because I am all about big rips and getting as much out of it as possible.

So thats what I did.

And I still use it all day everyday. My love for the surfer is still there, but would I pay the extra 100~ for a SSV? No way. I have very strong use with both units.

DBV all the way

edit: LSV.. I have heard from my confidential informants that it didnt live up to its hype and isn't really anything special and wont do any more than a dbv/ssv.. but I am hella down to try one!!

edit2: My ONE complaint about the DBV is that the heater cover has become extremely loose. Now I know that this isnt technically the units fault, but I had to pay $6 for them to send me extra shims and I still cant get it perfectly tight. Not a big problem, but still a slight annoyance. My SSV was as tight as could be

Make certain that the "clip" (wire in front that supports the glass) is present, and tightly fastened.

WTF? I have nothing like that!!! My DBV only came with the metal collar shim, and even when I emailed them about it all they did was send me more shims!! Thats exactly what I need!!

Do those come with the DBV? If so I am gonna be soo angry with 7th floor...

Call and ask them for this. they will know what it is.

I sent the guy a pic of my dbv heater and he didnt even mention it.. this was like a month or two ago, and he made me pay like $8 to ship out a bunch of extra shims that changed nothing. It better be free for me. I'll pay to ship it again but thats it.
