I just sent one of my Paxs in today as well.

The new one I started using for the first time doesn't seem to hit as hard as the first one.

I'm not saying I didn't get medicated. It still does that job well

But I kind of liked those lung busting hits I was getting with the first one

Have you checked your screen? I know if the raised edge is not over the airpath properly it can reduce your ability to get big hits.

I'm still really happy with my paperclip tool... it's always there when I need it, but it's always out of the way too...it lives inside the MP

Be careful my fellow paxer. i made a similar tool too and while turning it off a couple nights ago mid session the tool managed to rattle around enough to jam the mouth piece in a way where i couldnt push it down all the way preventing me from turning on the pax all together. luckily i managed(with the help of you all) to get it unjammed just a warning tho coulda just been a freak accident tho just like that gasoline fight that killed all my friends....

The screen was put in by Ploom. I only used this one twice so far. I didn't touch it because it looked fine. But I will definitely check it later.

I'm just hearing a lot of air passing through the oven lid. I never heard air passing through my first Pax. Only if I tilted the oven to one side.

This is the second report of a newer Pax having more airflow. More air increases the ratio of air to vapour therefore the hit is less cloudy. This implies a screen design change since that was the choke point for airflow. When you remove the screen, see if you can see any obvious difference.

pakalolo,
Hey guys, last night when i packed my pax up and turned it on it made a crackling and poping noise. What does that mean??? PLease help

Use something like a pen knife to get into the gaps of the temp button and wiggle it back and forth a bit to loosen it up. Resin gets deposited in the gaps between the temp button and gums it up by the iso once it evaporates. You just need to loosen the button a little bit, but be gentle. You can break the button if you push down too hard. I found, after you loosen it up a bit, you can change the temp but it might not click right away. That's fine. The more you use it, the click will come back.

I tried that and it still won't budge. No worries I contacted Ploom and they said they will replace it! They said to clean it... I'm sure it's just paranoia but anyone send one in yet smelling like it's been used for herb? I mean even if I clean it they can tell. Just want to make sure they don't get weird or anything if they see you aren't using it for tobacco.

Boy if they did, it would be incredibly hypocritical and probably damaging to their own business interests to pretend like they don't know that's what these things are used for.

LMAO, i just wanted to make sure before i took in any toxins

The same happened to me and it was with lower quality flowers. Beer working ever since with no more sizzle but I'm pretty sure it's just water steaming off.

Guys, first post here...jut got the pax after reading a ton of this thread and others...and I think something is wrong with it ! :( I plugged it in/set it on the cradle and it glowed solid like it was charging for a second, and then began to blink orange. this concerned me , I though perhaps I had a weird outlet (I'm visiting FL for the week), and tried a different outlet, same result. I left and went fishing for the day, thinking that perhaps that's just how it is, even though the instruction book did not mention blinking while charging. After all day fishing I got home and it's the same, blinking orange. When I disconnect from the charger, and open the mouthpiece/shake the unit to check batt level, it blinks red, like it needs charging. Has anyone else experienced this ? I dont have time to read 250 pages of threads..and am really bummed...paid a lot of next day shipping so I could have this for my vacation..ugh. Any advice appreciated!

This sounds like either a bum battery or charger. I believe your unit with charger needs to go back to Ploom.

thats what I was afraid of...great..thanks PAX for dicking up my week in FL.

That is kind of sad, man. Especially since it's right out of the box, but the good news is that Ploom will take care of you. Their customer service has been top shelf from my own experience.

Deadshort480,
i was wondering has anyone ordered from the ploom website, and had any shipping issues? i got my tracking number but it doesn't work when i click on it or type it in on the USPS website? any body else have this problem?

I'm pretty sure my tracking link didn't work either, but my package showed up in three days.

My pax is beginning to piss me off. Every time I begin to start a session, the damn thing color cycles at will after the initial heat up phase. It sort of works when it wants to...always coming through but after much shaking and mouth piece retraction. Is this typical pax jive or should I send mine back in. It's also turning red (little icon) after I hit it on green. I clean my pax thoroughly so I don't think that's the issue. Wasn't too much of a hassle the first few days but now it's frusterating

Bankrupt-Music,
you think it'll come in today, i order mine, like during the weekend they shipped it monday, so it should be in the mail today? i got my tracking number, but it says

Electronic Tracking Info Received
via USPS
even tho i ordered it days ago, is USPS tracking just shit or??

Is your temp on high? If it turns red when you hit it on green and you have it on high then thats the sensor problem. Blow into the MP for a few seconds then put the MP back in.

Tobacco, correct? :)
