Discontinued Vapir NO2

Well I received the NO2 today in the mail. After a short burn in period of once or twice to 365deg. and back to 100deg. or so, I loaded her up. No taste other than the herb but I wasn't getting very thick clouds. Must be doing something a bit wrong. Wasn't too sure how much to put in the bowl. I'm sure I'll get use to it.

Preheat closed unit to 375 degrees, with no herb in chamber
Then.,.. drop in a spoonfull (the provided tiny scoop) of well ground dried meds.
close tope securely, and begin taking hits.
The thickness of the clouds will increase after a few hits. then they will level off, until they subside.

The email and the "Deal" I just got are too good to keep to myself.
I will let the page from my email do the talking~

I hope there is a learning curve to my NO2 as I'm still not getting anything like the clouds my cheap box vape is giving me on the same herb. Don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Make certain top screen is clean.

touch to view vid
Then.. remember this is a medical device, and meant to be thorough.
The "clouds" do not measure the level of medication.
Average grade weed does not vaporize with the same visibility as medical grade weed
Turn up the heat if the clouds are not thick enough.
When I learn that people are "cloud chasers", I generally guide them to another less efficient and less patient oriented of a product.
You can however, if you get the breathing pattern get visible vapor for a couple dozen hits.
There is very good lighting here, so the clouds appear thick... but if you take your time, you can expect at least this level of visible vapor. Other people get more!

Hi everyone!! Help Please...Can anyone confirm whether it's ok to dip the first couple inches of the Vapir No2's chamber into ISO for cleaning the tiny chamber holes under the screen? Unit is not drawing so good even if testing with screens out and cleaning the inside of top cap. Am tempted to take mine apart to check at what point the electronics start or where the little chamber holes under the screen go. I apparently melted some sticky resin down the little holes. I also wonder if anyone has attempted enlargement of top at the draw straw?..
I went and spoiled myself a little with a Vapor Box which allows for huge draws but I know this Vapir No2 was drawing better. It's really irking me such that I crack my lips abit to suck some air along with the draw so that I don't feel like I am working so hard to get a breath...Regardless I luv this thing, It conserves herb like nobodies business compared to my whip. A large pee size does me in :)

It does not sound like a good idea to submerge any part of the chamber.
try the brush gthe NO2 comes with...
It is surprisingly strong.
Remove screen... dip that brush in Iso and give a scrub(with unit upside down!).
Then stick a dry qtip up in there to absorb any mess.
The top piece and the screen assembly can be removed and submerged also
Remember the draw is supposed to be somewhat restrictive.
TRY TO KEEP THE CHAMBER DRY
DON"T SUBMERGE

I would think that if your after clouds that hang around then your overdoing it and headed towards the smoking side of things rather than vaping. With good herb you should be baked pretty good with anywhere from 3 to 10 draws with lite vapor from this thing. I start at 360 and share a chamber to about 14 hits then right when I am about forgetting whats going on about me I crank it to 400 and down 6 more draws for about 20 total draws per fill. Mind you results will vary depending on personal tolerance and herb quality. For me it's been kinda funny as I hadn't been doing much herb before getting the Vapir and was sorta stock piling various cheap/free to me unknown varieties that were getting near on 8 month old or more. This thing has made good use of it at lower temps. The higher ya go towards 400 the more you'll taste the skanky stuff. I have some sweet fresh stuff now to try if I can figure out how to deep clean the the thing.. I better only do a half a chamber,, haha :smug:

Thanks for response! I really want that to work!... I clean it ritualistically with dry brushing upside down as I think you may have previously mentioned in thread but have not tried the wet qtip in there..Maybe a little will leak down through holes some eh? The slight restrictive is fine but it's a fine line between love and hate as they say..will give it a shot.

Update: Well I got some wet Qtip action going on up there and some ISO went on through and dripped a little out the side vents. I know that was not the idea to allow it upright but everything else was clean so had to do something in getting a little in the tiny holes. It as well as reaming the holes with the eye of a sewing needle didn't really help seed the draw though. I suspect maybe they got a little soft filter or such in there cause if I blow into real hard to backflush I notice there is a distinctly higher restriction after on the draw like maybe from moisture clogging. Being I can't seem to find my small screwdriver to take apart I had to give the new herb a go anyway. Well that's werkin real good as I add this edit.(Dumb and Dumber is on Comedy Channel..lol)
...The restriction is high and will have to do something.
Anyone got pics of what might be in there far as a filter just behind the black plastic side vents?

ps- Hey Vitolo I really enjoyed your video above...heard it plenty before but what is the name of that music tract? You look to have some crazy lung capacity there on exhale scenes...good stuff man!

I open mine up to clean all the stuff out of it with no problem.

Vapir told me to stick a pin/paper clip in the 4 bowl holes to clean any debris out.
if you take it apart the brass heating chamber/bowl sits inside another bigger s/s bowl to retain heat. Pretty easy just go slow.
Try turning it on to 400 let it get hot and pushing a paper clip through it.

My friend did drill his top piece out where the hose attaches for more flow no problem.

Now you could try and use a drill bit (I used a drill bit that was just bigger than the holes are) I did all 4 but you may void warranty.mine is 2 and a half years old.
and it works great,my Solo has a more restricted draw than the No2

My friend drilled his out and had an unrelated issue(no power at all from battery or adapter) and Vapir did send him a refurbished one, never mentioned anything about the holes at all.

I would try a pipe cleaner in ISO get 90% or higher, hold the unit upside down to minimize iso running into the ss bowl underneath
any iso that does go through the brass bowl will evaporate
some one in this thread posted pictures when they took theres apart.

the first pic is the brass bowl in the ss bowl so if anything gets through the brass bowl it will end up in the ss bowl.
and the bowls are separated from the electronics. except for the 4 wires that connect to the bowl.

Hi AL, Thanx heaps. Am not worried about warranty as I bought used for $50. I'll be drilling on her soon enough...Is it fair to say that washer/gasket looking thing in second pic could be clogging/blocking flow? I imagine it goes right at top and may bend down upon putting back together. Might do something totally different there if it's soft. Like maybe I'll harvest something similar out of a face respirator or leave it out or drill it too.

Update: Drilled 4 chamber holes to 5/32 and the top cap stem to 5/64. Has increased draw speed back to that of about stock. I think that says that indeed that washer/filter in second pic does some blocking..now if I can just find my dang set of small screwdrivers to take her apart I can work on getting an actual increase in draw. The heat recovery on these Vapir NO2 would not be changed much or the conservative heat oven/containment ability. Not really looking for faster draw anyway but rather an easier draw..

M31Superstoned,
Would it be possible to drill the 4 holes without taking the unit apart?
I say no to that as even if you have a good strong vacuum to try and suck out the metal shavings some may get stuck down on the stainless outer shell if you've had some sticky res drip through to the stainless or have used the unit enough that it's all coated in there. It should be said and warned that we ought not blow into the unit to try and clear anything out of it during use or other wise as really there is no place for shavings or sticky vapor or lung moisture to go but through the tiniest of slot up on the top edge of the stainless outer cup. The slot doubles as a slot for the element wires. The electrical element wire wraps (and tape) is inside between the brass and stainless and I for one would hate to hear someone got junk all on it and ruined element or some such. I do not like that we are breathing around the wraps and would rather have found under the 4 chamber holes some sort of glass or ceramic ring between the two metals and holes on through the stainless. Such would force air only through the chamber rather than around the tape and vinyl coated wires, solder (hopefully lead free), and rubber seal(or whatever it is..maybe viton). ...I do not suggest taking apart for mods without steady hands and confidence along with magnetic screw driver as it is no fun getting the screws back in and things all back together without pinching wires. (psst- the chamber section can not go back together 180 degree from original install position with it's two screws because the black plastic vented housing parts are keyed if you will to the bottom section with differing sized slots for each half)...After my initial drilling of the brass and plastic stem I was able to confirm that the real bottleneck/designed restriction is that of the air having to pass through the top stainless slot. I said no to this and proceeded to drill on through my stainless using the brass holes as template. (the stainless is very difficult to drill through, don't push too hard on bit or you'll break off). You might only want to do 2-3 hole instead of 4 if you mainly use very dry fine flaked herb that is not very sticky because if the herb doesn't offer much resistance your likely to draw too quick and knock the chamber temps down too low. This level of non restriction can make for as much as a 30 degree or so drop making for a decent wait on puff puff passing;(.. That said, I can also confirm that the mod doesn't help if you got really damp sticky stuff in chamber. Even with being drilled I still got restricted greatly even after regrinding half vaped sticky. All that did was make for more sticky powder to restrict that much more. Solution for sticky herb to gain less restriction than a stock configuration with avergae herb is only filling chamber a half dose or so. I'll try to get some pics up of the parts and what I did. ..oh one more thing, upon final reassembly make sure the thermo is right up against the stainless as you close the halves together, You wouldn't want to cause overheating and hence fast battery discharges..

How do I deal with this sticky air clogging herb issue? The Vaporbox is so much more pleasurable in big easy draws with this strain...Should I open containers and let it air dry more or..??

Of course.... let it sit out and dry.
I use only bone dry weed.
Even the stickiest weed will dry.

Well, I'm happy to report back that I now love my NO2. Was having trouble getting any kind of visible vapor out of it but now that I've used it a couple times and bumped up the heat I'm now getting all the vapor I want. It was my technique and not that fact that I was "chasing clouds", as I'm now getting clouds.

Well do please tell us your teqhnique..I haven't an issue with getting lite or moderate clouds that hang for a few seconds but I do wonder how to get really thick clouds at 400 max without moving the thermo off away a tad from the stainless shield around the chamber. Since my 'hole' mods I can tell I am slightly hotter on the whole top area which if not for it's only slight difference I would call foul on for risking a melt down..

Well my fellow vaporists i have had my no2 for about a good minute now and she is still going strong producing some beautiful thick clouds with great flavor. I have learned a few interesting things from my fellow vaporists, trying different things out and now my no2 produces some nice tasty clouds. Here are a few things that seem to work pretty good for me and the flavorful clouds are simply amazing.
Heat no2 without material in chamber, when heated fill and wait until the temp is stable and NOT jumping around. *i noticed with mine, it will turn green at about 375 but will increase to MY set temp of 378 still in the green then stay at 378 with no fluxuation. After the temp is stable at YOUR set temp wait for about 60 seconds then hit it with a deep breath..Make sure your herb is ground up good and dry. *i usually grind up the herbs in the 3 tier grinder and grind a little more with my fingers* Try to keep your chamber clean and ALWAYS keep your top screen clean.
I found you really dont need much herbs. I usually fill the scoop about halfway maybe a little less and i can get 8-10 nice tasty big hits. Another cool thing is, fill bottom half with nice dry herbs then put some kief or earwax in the middle then fill remainder with herbs (i only fill my chamber about 3/4) That is a killer experience and i dont know why but the clouds are HUGE with that "sandwitch". Anyway thanks everyone for all the help, tips and tricks i really love this thing.. THANK YOU

In my experience the two keys to get thick hits is to 1 - use dry, well ground bud and 2 - tamp down the bowl before hitting it - I get nice clouds at my preferred "max taste" 365 setting

I have used my vapir no2 for only 3 sessions now and I am not a happy customer. I have used all the way up to 400, and I am hardly getting any vapor at all. I have ground my weed, preheated with cap on, not over flilling chamber, etc. I have an IR temp gauge I use for my RC cars, and it was reading 100 degrees lower than the display temp. Do I have a faulty unit, or the temp gun can't properly read the temp? I would hate to return, but I want to be sure. Thanks for any responses :)
