Pretty cut and dry here. I watch and love The Walking Dead. I have even gone as far as to read a portion of the graphic novels that the show is based on.

So lets see it folks, Cast your vote, chat it up about the Show, feel free to discuss the graphic novels as well.

I like it in that its a perfect guide of what NOT to do during a zombie apocolypse :D

Seen season S1-2

First part of the first season was pure gold. Not so much as it continues but still enjoyable.

Season one was good. The script and character development has always been a bit clichéd and rubbish, but the first season kept the zombies and the action coming at a good enough pace for it not to matter too much.

Season two was awful. They didnt seem to realise that they can't write dialogue, and tried to focus on character development. Given that the characters are so two dimensional they briefly disappear when they turn around, it was terrible. If The Walking Dead doesnt have a constant stream of zombie action it is quickly exposed as a pretty standard cliché ridden US drama. I lost patience with the second season half way through and didn't watch the rest.

Season three I have decided to give it another chance, and it is pretty good so far.

@ SD_haze are you you referring to season 3?

If you are... i kinda agree that the first few episodes were a little slow, but the last 2 have been :o. Especially with what happened at the end of the last episode Sunday! Ring Ring!

Yelooo... its hard to take some of what you said seriously since you didn't even give the whole second season a go... im curious to know exactly where u stopped watching, cause the 2nd half was where it really kicked in... especially the the finally of S2:o! as far as for calling it cliche... how do you figure? Have you seen many satirical US dramas that involve dead people wandering around trying to eat you? I think it is FAR from cliche... it breaks out of the typical rutt that horror (especially zombie) general films and shows are lacking...

Some like it cause it shows you the grizzly truth that lies under the skin... some will dislike it cause it shows the grizzly truth under the skin.

Peel off the skin and see whats inside!:worms:

Someones always watching..
I'm conflicted I love this show. Even though the writers oftentimes focus too much on trying to convey emotions. It really has slowed the show down.and what was up with Lori dying? That was done in poor taste. But I will still watch because this show is always compelling!

it''s a weird kind of love-hate relationship. it''s addicting and I want to watch the next episode, but at some points I can get frustrated. I tried watching it sober and failed due to frustration of their stupidity(I think that was somewhere during season 2), but if I''m high I can enjoy it.
also I like the new season better as the previous, finally some proper strategy, instead of an open and defenseless farm(with plenty of time available to build said defenses)

Phenomenal show. Been following it since its first episode. Last episode's ending had me giving my computer screen the finger . Next weeks preview is interesting, they find Carols knife, Looks like Michonne finds the group, and I think Merle's head can be seen looking at the prison at the end.

I love this show. The one thing that drives me crazy, though, is that noone calls them zombies. They keep making up shit like walkers and biters...they're fucking zombies and we all know it!!!!! FUCKING CALL THEM ZOMBIES ALREADY!

What was it the folks at the farm called them? I was just thinking about it the other day. I think it might be a coping technique. Make them seem less scary?

Not S3, I don't have cable TV so just season 1 & 2 on netflix. I really loved the first/second episode, kind of felt like a video game when Rick hadn't found anyone yet. Then he finds people and the episodes become largely people talking to each other.

Of course, this does make the action real intense when it does happen.

I believe the politicaly-correct term is " Life Deficient Americans". I know this because I married into a whole pack of the freaks.

Watched the first season. Got bored after. I dont really like the characters, story development wasn't that exciting to me. Then there's the people making stupid illogical decisions and stuff, which always turns me off from a show/movie. Like the episode where the woman was driving WITH NOBODY AROUND, NO TRAFFIC, and somehow fucking BARRELROLLS the car....

Lots of thoughts here  I guess i should have made the poll more of a like dislike
I have a feeling that i may release a fume of spoilers as I respond to everyone... BE WARNED!

any who, @ Nbajunkie Poor taste, yea.. a little, but boy did she get a death scene! I get a little tired of the emotional dialog, but some times it seems necessary... as if to foreshadow shit that is going to happen two episodes down the line... I believe one of the writers for lost and the Sopranos had been writing for them... we know how those shows ended. If I am correct they referred to him in the article as a "2 act show" meaning he couldn't ever develop a proper ending... if they dump him as suggested in said article maybe this ill change.

@ djonkoman ... you watch TV sober? I don't even watch the coffee brew in the morning sober :ko: I thought the prison would be a good idea... walls and fence don't do shit when there is sabotage afoot! maybe the town will be better than in the novel... the Governor sure as hell is... In the novel, at the end of the volume, Michone has his dick nailed to a board and is going to town torturing him for rapping her for a week or so strait! Far different from the governor that is shown on the program.

@ ShipDit ahhhh the smell of rotting flesh in the morning :mmmm:

@ biojuggernaut

@ Ripbongs420 WHO THE FUCK IS ON THE PHONE!!!! assholes... now i know the writer was from those shows ... the bastard! carol is gonna be one tuff chick now if she made it out... In the book a dude named martenez goes to the prison and find em. he was sent by the governor... I wonder if Merle is gonna take that info back or is he gonna catch back up with his brother... oh my... i wonder if that will be a warm reception?:goon:

@ stickstones they do call em zombies on occasions... I think... but man, biters, so fucking lame... that was what the people in the town called em. I get the walkers/ lurkers thing... which is never explained in the show... the people in the group discus it briefly in the book walkers are the ones wondering in herds, lurkers are the ones that just sit around waiting for someone to come by so they can eat.

ummm, im just gonna refer back to this:
I don't even watch the coffee brew in the morning sober :ko:
I even quoted you and still was all :mmmm:

@ Tamataz I can see how you might dislike the characters, there are several i dislike and several i have gotten to watch get eaten for being stupid characters... and some, like T-dog who i thought was a stupid character get munched on in a rather heroic fashion so... (SPOILER ALERT!) The woman who was stupid to be looking at a map when a walker stumbled out in front of her and then instead of smashing that fucker decides to over correct and roll... yea, she dies... by being cut open and having a fetus removed... then her son shoots her... and then her husband finds the messy blood stain where the zombies devoured the corpse of his dead wife... to each their own, I love it

To +1 what farscaper said, I felt the same as you half way through the second season but was the finale was great & definitely am glad I finished it.

Although if you've already started S3 it might be weird to go back :ninja:

Its not the premise of the show that I find a cliche, i can enjoy genre movies/tv shows fine. Its more the characters and the dialogue.

But I do like the show, I would have the same critisisms about most TV Drama. Its only truly exceptional shows like Mad Men and Sopranos that, i find, avoid falling into these traps.

The next episode is called "hounded", which is to basically pursue relentlessly. What could that mean? Merle not giving up hope for his brother?

Can
