I have used the Cloud once.. and am actually waiting for one to come my way to try again (should not be too long)
From my one experience so far, I found the LSV a much more comfortable and versatile tool.
Besides the 14 and 18 long and short WPAs, I have an older one, that 7th floor made before the WPA was on their site.
It does not have the LSV logo on it, and is even SHORTER than the shorty!
It uses very little herb, and I use it more than the others~

Hey stickstones, what are your thoughs on the LSV vs the Cloud?

They both rock my world! I'll have many more applicable things to say in about a week's time as I develop my routine with the LSV and once I get the shorty wpa in my hands.

I started with the SSV using the whip, and it was my go-to vape for big hits. I would use the PD (log vape) as my efficient daily driver, but use the SSV for the punch in the face. When I got my Cloud (beta unit) I immediately shelved the SSV and only hit it once after that. The Cloud became my heavy hitter while I still used a log vape the most. Then I did some efficiency testing and discovered the Cloud could vape as efficiently as my log vape, so I pretty much went to the Cloud all the time. Then one day, after two years of hard, noble service, my beta Cloud died. Now, using the Cloud changed my vape habits, and I ended up getting a matrix ion bubbler before it died and was in vapor heaven. I am going to get a Cloud base unit whenever they release them, as I use my bubbler all the time and don't need the Hydratube. So, in the meantime, I have been searching for another big hitter that would satisfy me until then and be a great Cloud backup as well...and landed on this LSV. The LSV makes perfect sense for the way I vape, and I knew it would hit hard and last a long time due to my previous experience with the SSV (which I traded a while back for the Solo). So far, I love the LSV, and it will be a great daily driver for me for a long time.

Since I haven't hit a Cloud for some time, I don't want to make any comparisons regarding hit size or taste until I have them both in my hands at the same time. But I can tell you they are both top shelf vapes, especially for me when hit through water. You can't go wrong with either one of them.

I can, however, attest to usage paterns. Believe it or not, I am more careful with the LSV than I was the Cloud. The LSV does a good job of protecting the HC from getting hit, but it still could easily break with a direct hit (7th Floor, thankfully, makes this easy and cheap to fix). I also don't feel comfortabe setting it down between hits (I have a screw in the wall for storage, but not for between hits). But it sure is fun to hit my bubbler in a fashion that is close to smoking a bowl.

Theoretically, I think the Cloud is going to get the slight edge in taste, as glass should taste better than ceramic (not much), but I will reserve judgement on that for a while. For the price, if you already have a good piece of glass you like, I don't see how you could go wrong with the LSV. If you don't have any glass and want to get a top shelf rig out of the gate, then the Cloud might be a little better priced.

Haha I was expecting a short reply, but you really hit it home. Thanks a ton!

I don't own any decent glass, at least none in the US (where I currently am...my Canadian glass is in storage) so the cloud seems like the way to go. I'm generally a fan of big hitters in general, but the cloud just seems awesome.

Anyways, don't derail this thread so I will just say thanks a ton.

Happy vaping!

you had a beta of the cloud 2 years agos already ? so that makes that one year and a half before release ??? ...lucky you. I never realised you had your beta that before.

Funny that you get an LSV to wait for a cloud then, as I did two years ago when they released the LSV ;)
I concure with Vitolo, the LSV is much more comfortable to use ime.
I can see how you can get over cautious Stickstones, but you are getting paranoid there. My LSV falls quite often from my lap (and higher) to the ground, it never had an issue and I never broke the HC.
I have a stand but I set it down anywhere I feel so, sofa, coffee table, lap, blanket... it's way more comfy that having to find a secure place for the Cloud and it's "fragile" air path. In my head the LSV is part of the sturdy vapes I own. Wand aside of course.

For the flavor part, I'm not sure the Cloud can claim it, because imo the ELB puts to much steel compare to a glass wpa...and I am really not sure that ceramic does have a flavor as for me it doesn't.

Vitolo, my WPA is also logoless too, I guess there is as many sizes as they do host glass blowers.

My thoughts exactly.

True...true... same for wands- I buy many standard wands, and have noticed the variety of lengths. I even have begun to recognize a couple distinct "touches"!

I prefer mine long in the bowl like the one on the left~

I don't know the exact date for the beta, but it seems like two years ago from now. I'm pretty sure it was about a year before release.

That's good to hear about it surviving a fall. Mostly I am more careful when I use it, as I can feel the HC wiggle ever so slightly when I hold it against the WPA. I imagine I will get more comfortable with it as time goes on and not be so gentle (I'll bet most of my trepidation comes from the first night when I used it exclusively with the wand, which makes the wiggle much more noticable with all the leverage it has). I laid it on my lap last night in between hits, but the insulation of my lap and sweat pants got it pretty hot, so I don't want to set in on an insulative surface. I think the taste comparison is going to be the most fun and subtle. I really don't expect them to taste much different, SS or ceramic differences not withstanding. My biggest concern at the moment is the lack of the cord strain relief. I'll definitely get that upgrade, but not until I get a Cloud and can stand being without the LSV.

I like how it doesn't get hot (except in the lap scenario) to hold anywhere, even after a good session...pretty ingenious heat disipation, imo. I am really looking forward to the shorty WPA, as I think I will get a more even roast, even though it is pretty good right now. So far, both nights using the WPA, this thing is killing me with huge hits...fuckin love that!

OhTheAgony

here for the chicks
Can anyone tell me if that's an 18(,8)mm male joint on the LSV shorty transfer wand please?

And if so, does anyone know where to get them in Europe perhaps? 7thfloors shipping prices to Europe are just ridiculous for small items unfortunately.

not yet able to recognize touches but yes it's the same for wands, which can be problematic sometimes actually, because one 1cm makes a huge diffy. I had a fatty that I could not vape with bcause of that.

On your pic Vitolo I would prefer the wand on the right ;).

Stickstones, same than you when using the LSV with a wand...which I never do cause I have an SSV for that. And yes get the cord strain relief when you can.

OhTheAgony, PM me for your wand.

Their shorty wand has the same gong joint as the regular tranfer wand, 18,8mm male.

Duh, I meant male of course, thanks Raf!

I'm actually awaiting an email from your buddy G. about something else, I'll just pick this up with him then

Hot pad is really unecessary imHe.
You really are safe to lay down your LSV on any surface, of course if you are living the room for a long time I would advise to turn it off. ;)

Yeah it doesnt ever get too hot to touch from my experience ive left it lying against my desk(wood) for atleast 1hour and i could still pick it up and there was no damage to the desk

the airflow on this thing is massive. now, it doesn't have the heat retention to deliver hits while being fully hit like a bong, but it's a nice feeling to be able to draw hard on it, nonetheless. yesterday this thing gave me 5 or 6 heavy, thick hits in a row and i was done!

Hey, I haven't posted in a while but wanted to say that after switching from a Volcano to the LSV, my monthly herb usage/cost was cut by more than half, and I get more medicated from less herb than with the Volcano! In a few weeks it will have entirely paid for itself in herb savings. I normally do very small loads, just a bit more than a Solo load, less than 0.1g and it's more than enough.

This is by very far the best vape I ever had.

I usually just fill the screen so i cant see it, and thats plenty for me
I dont know how any other vape could be more "efficient"

blais...i lived for years off a PD. when i want to test a unit's efficiency, i use it in terms of how many PD stems it needs to be effective and to get me there. some units can't perform with that small amount. some can allow me to use four stems worth at once and get the same effect. an efficient unit will allow me to get good, effective hits off a small amount like one stem. a heavy hitter will let me go through it all at once without losing effect. my best vapes can do both.

My LSV came in the mail this afternoon. I'm testing it out now, and I must say that I'm thoroughly impressed. :tup:Amazing device.

I hope you'll humor me as I air old videos ...
1- 3 hits with a long transfer wand
2- 1 hit with a shirt transfer wand
3- a cloudy wand hash session
This last video is the best. You will not believe the vapor quality here!
Next time I will do some LSV Vapor Tamer, and Water tool vids~

What a guy!
I'm glad to see the LSV getting some more love. When I was first looking for a second vape I wanted the LSV but it didn't get as much attention as the other 7th Fl. products, and I was a little leery. I am glad to see it getting some new devotees.

They basically upgraded it, offered a bunch of colors and cut the price almost in half. 7th floor definitely went in the right direction.
