So yea if this isn't a huge warning to the medical community I don't know what is!

I hope the legalization shocker has gotten enough people's attention so that when the fed's start trying to shut down all the medical/legal dispensaries because "pharmaceutical cannabis won't damage or kill you", people are awake enough to realize whats going on!

Seriously once they get all these other cannabinoids isolated and sativex isn't the only product they have they'll be able to use the medical cannabis communities own "medicine" against us. They'll say hey we have these cbd pills you can take and smoking cannabis will kill you! (no mention of vaping will be made!)

Anyway I hear a lot of people from Washington/Colorado upset/skeptical because of the legalization laws being written all wonky, but I think we need to push cannabis past the medical argument into the recreational argument or we will get bitten in the ass again when all these cannabis pharmaceuticals come out.
I wouldn't put it past the Feds to start trying to blow the lid off the cannabis industry and start basically an all out war against it once they have the pharmaceutical counterpart and the propaganda in place.

Under Attorney General Eric Holder, the feds took a couple steps backward in the drug war and were more annoying than under Bush. Rumor has it Holder is on the way out. The secret weapon may be a re-elected prez who actually knows what cannabis is and what the effects are. Who will he appoint?

Yes that is the burning question isn't it...if Obama will change anything. My only reason for having a hard time believing he will change is that he's not our first pothead president haha...Bush, Clinton, Bush, Carter, prolly Reagan at one point. They all know or knew (definitely Clinton and W) the truth about cannabis, they all smoked it at one point.

If the people don't want it enough and don't fight it enough, the money is there to persuade Obama to go along with the status-quo (pharmaceutical companies and private prisons), so lets hope he somehow decides to be a revolutionary president in his 2nd term, rather than his first.

It's funny how there was absolutely no mention of the "choom gang" and Obama's incredibly heavy use of marijuana during the campaign...you'd think at least one republican would have tried to point that out hoping to gain some ground in such a close election.

Sure, but - we're also the ones who need to wake up and get our facts straight. GWP's Sativex is a whole-plant extract - it is not isolated THC and CBD, it is a an extract of ALL of the cannabinoids, terpenoids, flavinoids etc. from a high THC strain combined with a high CBD strain, mixed until they achieve a 50:50 ratio of THC:CBD.

Sativex proves that Cannabis works. Will they try to use this against us? Sure, but that's no reason not to let medical patients have access to more alternatives - some may prefer a spray or a pill to vaping or smoking, and some may never even touch this medicine until its in a bottle and has been prescribed by their GP or Specialist. That's a perfectly valid point of view, and we shouldn't take that away from them.

They're different issues - and Sativex only helps our cause imho as it proves that Cannabis works, that when the active ingredients are used in their pure form (vaping, edibles, dabs) it is perfectly safe and effective. Yes they'll use it as an excuse to try and shut down herbal cannabis, but Sativex is coming to us country by country - we need to deal with that, not spread misinformation (which only hurts our side of the debate, when they point out we don't know what we're talking about...) or promote the idea that patients should only have access to herbal non-pharmaceutical products, or that we need to choose one or the other. We can have both!
