Very frustrating!, I shot them an email this morning to see if they even received it because I sent it out on the 1st.

Try calling they may be backlogged from the storms although Florida was generally missed. That doesn't mean the mail is messed up on the whole east coast.

I ordered some items form Vapeworld during the storm and got it within a week to Canada. So it seems the mail system coming out of that area is ok...at least when I used it.

i have been contemplating selling mine in the classified section with all the extra caps, screens, and cap tools (stirrer and spring thing) but not sure if i would get any interest in it

Never hurts to try. The worse that happens is you still have it.

Somewhere but not to you I am guessing. Do you know when you are getting it?

Do you know when you are getting it?

my puffit was delivered tonight (6:30pm) I'm on my first bowl after i fully charged it &using the new spring, they also included an extra metal cap & the mouth piece cap, also a screen. So what I have concluded, it tastes as bad as my first one, has an after taste that is exactly the same. I have it on setting 6 and I'm getting vapor, not think clouds, but visible. Def not going to use it if the taste doesn't go away soon

Sorry to hear that Jenny; perhaps try to do a few dry burns to see that clears out some of the taste?

Jenny also try the cleaning thing. That really sucks the big one. I was hoping it would have at least been ok.

Yes, I did too. The new version seems OK to most folks? And several have reported large improvements. But it seems not 'good enough for all'....

The quest continues, in the mean time I enjoy mine.

Good luck to Jenny (and others) in their search.

Thanks OF, it's something with the smell/taste. When I smell into the chamber, even after cleaned (2 bowls now, & a cleaning) I can smell that stench that I taste when I use it.

The puffit forum has died off, probably just like the use of my puffit but hopefully I can get used to it with time.

3 months??? My other one tasted okay until 3 months and it had a deathly taste to it, this one not AS bad but I can taste it & it's giving me headaches again. I thought vaping was supposed to help my headaches, but sadly it hasn't...not with this device! Also I wanted to try to vape some mint leaves, but I'm not sure if it will make the taste worse..

Also I'm not sure if the spring helps with the clouds, but I do love that it holds my herb down and it doesn't pop up and out after I remove the cap, so it's useful in that sense

Are you selling it close to the original price you paid for? Are you disclosing the funky taste?

You're welcome. Smell (and taste which can't work without it for the most part) are a very subjective thing. Sensitivity can be amazing, some people 'sense' amazingly small levels of some things, allergies aside.

What you are most likely smelling is the catalyst used to 'set' the rubber. The 'food grade' aspect of this limits the choices. All of them are released in the bulk of the material as it sets up and have to be purged out somehow. Time and temperature (and to some extent air flow) control this. I suspect the latest parts have optimized catalysts and go through a bake out (probably under vacuum) as a pile of parts before assembly. Since no new material is being generated, and everything that makes it to the surface now has to diffuse further, the rate is constantly dropping. Which is why such smells 'go away' over time (they actually are still there, just at progressively lower and lower levels).

Add to this the idea from BTV that eventually condensate from the vapor will seal the surface up blocking further migration out on the inside so that future taste will have to go to the outside world another way beside the airpath.

Without knowing his schedule, I wouldn't put too much stock in 3 months, the Puffit doesn't have a calendar on board AFAIK. It does happen.

Funny it was the later taste before...... Are you sure the headaches are coming from this vape? That is do you use others that are OK? Off gassing gets less over time, not more.

When I comes to cleaning, if you're handy enough you can do a proper job if you carefully open the unit up (blows the warranty of course), if you want to try that out.

For now, something isn't adding up in my mind. Not an uncommon condition....

Yeah, I can vape with my volcano just fine, I get headaches normally, but it seems almost immediate after I puff on the puffit. I do have a head cold right now, but like I said, my 'cano doesn't give me headaches.

Maybe I should loan it to someone who isn't sensitive to the smell and have them use it for a bit to decrease the smell/taste

Jenny, I have headache issues my whole life 24/7. I find that I have to learn more then others how to use each vape not to affect my head or make them worse. The best vapes for my headaches are ones with no resistance. I have been using the vapor lung to help somewhat so you still have your bag like the volcano. I find that is even problematic sometimes. For headache suffers I think we have to draw differently then others. For me so far the two best for not causing headaches to be worse are the ssv and the INH. I am still learning the ssv and with no resistance I still managed to clog my head. I have only been using it since Sat.

Well, I just mailed off my puffit to its new owner, I hope they have a long and happy life together. With the Pax and the t1/dart in my arsenal there is no need for this vape. I really wanted to love it but I just could not. Ultimately it just does not have the battery life or flavor quality I require in a vape. For the reasonable price and stealth I think this vape will be good for some, just not me. Thanks everyone else who preordered with me and went on this interesting, albeit disappointing journey.

I ordered of the blue units from the manufacturer's website, with tracking. It arrived timely, and all things that were supposed to be included were included, including the "vape enhancer thingy".

I charged the unit until the green light stopped flashing. I loaded it and got about two hits before the battery died -- the unit got *very* hot during this time. I unloaded it and recharged it again, it took three hours before it said it was done charging. But when I unplugged it from the USB, it went straight to the flashing red indicating no charge and then died.

I have attempted four charging cycles now, including one through a USB wall adapter to make sure it wasn't a slow trickle causing the problem, though I used my powered USB charging slot on my laptop for original charging.

Every once in awhile there's a dud. Since it arrived on a Friday and I don't expect them to answer customer service requests until normal business hours, the company still has the opportunity to make good. But I took a gamble by ordering from outside the US in that it's going to take me a minute to get it back if I do a replacement.

In a way.... I'm almost thinking about just asking to return it since it is so obviously defective. I got a bonus check, and with the extra there if I was able to get my money back I could get the Pax. I had went for the PuffIT because of price, and wanted the blue because I'm currently prescribed Ventolin. But if someone finds it and examines it closely enough, they'll figure it out regardless and I'm not a risk-taker insofar as planning on use in public.

Good news: I did pay with PayPal. So I can initiate a dispute if the manufacturer doesn't make it right.

Good luck with your return Mishakal! If you do end up getting your money back (fingers crossed, knocked on wood for ya ;)), the Pax is definitely a vape loved by many. As long as you keep it clean and don't get ISO around the temp button, you should be golden. Have you looked into the Inhalater as well? Less maintenance and some people like it over the Pax. I'm not trying to dissuade you, either, promise! Barring the Inh, there's also the ThermoVape Cera, although you'll be spending closer to $300 with batteries and all. The downside to the Cera is that no one outside of the company has one, and they're only taking pre-orders right now... AND the guys that made the VaporBlunt have two of their new units out with Stu and OF. Looks like a Transformers vape, but it does flower AND oil by default. I think it even comes with a WT (water tool) which works the same way as the VapeXhale Cloud's HydraTube line, although the VB2 isn't currently purchasable either.

There's also the Arizer Solo which has proven itself to be a reliable portable. If you're good about it, I think you can get one for around $160-180. If you do go that route, I've noticed that a lot of owners LOVE the PVHES (Planet Vape High Efficiency Stem) and suggest getting it. If you're looking for an absolutely discreet vaporizer, Magic Flight's Launch Box is hard to beat. It does have a learning curve to it, but I went from buying it to making it put clouds out after about 2 trenches (loads) and it's been nothing short of a life saver for me since I bought it. It's definitely an exciting time right now in the world of portable vaporizers, and I seriously suggest you at least give the respective threads a look-over if you haven't already. Also a quick question: did you notice any sort of funky taste from the Puffit? That was a big deal for a lot of people that got the first run of Puffit's, they said it tasted like a hot snorkel tube. Apparently people are still getting units that taste like that :\

And finally, welcome to FC and welcome to the world of vaporizers! Sorry you had a shitty experience the first time around, please don't let this dissuade you from vaporizers! Common sense would dictate that vapors are a lot healthier than smoking, plus you save a LOT of bud on it. I went from being able to smoke a half in a week, to having ~4.3 grams last me two weeks... of getting pants-on-head stoned. I don't think you'll find many people that prefer smoking to vaporizing once they've tried out a quality unit. You're more than welcome to give me or anyone else a shout if you need any help. Good luck!

Well, the manufacturer did get back to me today, so it looks like their CS side works weekends! :) Good thing. He had a few suggestions just to make sure it wasn't my laptop charge that wasn't good enough, but I'm afraid that since the USB-to-wall adapter isn't charging it enough and the light is turning green that it's just an unhappy battery, sadly. I had hoped there might be some type of "firmware reset" that could be done to make it try to recalibrate the battery and try on my USB-to-wall charger.

I didn't notice anything plasticy, and since the unit did get *very* hot in my hands during the two hits, I think the heat generated was either shielded from the vapor path well enough or just didn't have enough time. The silicone ring around the top of the heating chamber appeared from photographs to be the new ring in comparison to the old one people showed pictures of, so I think the unit I got had the improvements.

I'm not letting it disappoint me, and if the manufacturer makes good on a replacement that works I'll use it until I save enough or spend enough time on here to develop VAS regardless of money. ;) I've played with my friend's MFLB, but he tosses the AVB and I'm thinking to get the right medication balance from my meds I'm probably going to have to utilize the AVB in some way or another -- even coming near to combustion in the MFLB I don't get the sleepies, and insomnia is one of my main reasons for medicating. It looks like this might be a good way to get the portions that will help me eat more (right now my BMI is below 19) during the day without getting sleepy, and then maybe either use a higher temperature setting or use the AVB itself from the day's use at night. (Makes me envy those in MMJ states -- an indica edible would probably be my best bet for nighttime meds.)

I'm also curious, but this is more of a general vape discussion, not on a specific product, if anyone has been successful in getting volatiles from other plant sources -- valerian is something I will drink for insomnia, and cats smelling it go all sorts of crazy, it's like catnip on steroids to them. While the taste is so nasty in tea that in a vape I might cry, if it WORKS.... ;) might be a good use for the PuFFiT if I upgrade to another unit later, I probably won't even make the attempt on one I plan to use for tasty blends.
