humidity {storage}

hi, i have just got some of the 62% humidipaks from planet vape. i think there the 8 gram ones.
anyway, can someone tell me, i have 500 mill mason jars that i have up to a half oz in, or less.
will one of these packs do the job? and how long will they last? if i also put the jars in the fridge will that help?

As for putting jars in the fridge, I think that may not be such a good idea, since it can cause moist from condensation.
For curing, I have a Caliber III hygrometer, and I put it in my jars, I let them open and close then measure. The right spot relative% for curing is 55-60%
If it's higher, leave them open a bit more to make it drop a bit, maybe with a dehumifier near the jars or a ventilator.

Use some double sided tape or something adhesive to stick a pack to the underside of your mason jars lid. One humidipack will work fine for about three months if your good about keeping the jar shut while your not using it. Don't worry about the fridge.

thanks for the tips guys. i didnt end up putting them in the fridge so im good there. i guess the only prob will be keeping my self from opening the jars for a lookie sniff sniff to often lol

It's not that big of an issue to have it open for a minute or two; but if your like my friends girl; and leave it open all night then that will be a problem.

Also; just so you know, when the Humidipack starts to get old and stop working, you can tell by taking it between your fingers and squeeze around. When you start to feel clumps of stuff in the baggie then it's on it's way out.

luckily it can also absorb water vapor. so it is somewhat reusable.

I recently bought the cvault jars with humidipak for storing my herb correctly, should be delivered in a couple of weeks.

How do you absorb water to make a humidipak reusable ?

To put it simply, a jar with a raised platform will suffice. just put the pack on an elevated surface so it does not come into direct contact with the water, and put it in a warm place.

this does remove some amount of functionality if left for too long though.

I ALWAYS store my bud in an airtight jar and then put that jar in the vegatable section of the fridge. The three things that will degrade weed is air, light and temp. So.............airtight, no light, and at a temp of around 50 degrees to inhibit degradation.

Regarding moisture, as long as you leave the jar open for 5 or ten minutes when you open it up after taking it out of the fridge to allow things to equalize, you're good to go.

I've been doing it this way for decades..............no mold whatsoever, even with the same bud kept in the fridge of over 6 months.

Also, I have never used humidifier packs for fear of mold. Never had an issue. Bud does not end up too moist or too dry.

I bought a 12 pack of Micro Humidipak's (4 grams) and found them insufficient when I used two in my quart sized mason jars. I did find that when I used 2-3 in my 500ml mason jar they work well. I have had those for a couple months and they are still going strong

After the Micro's, I purchased a 4 pack of the Large Humidipak (40 grams) and find they work very well in my quart sized mason jars. I have had them for a month and they are still filled with water. I imagine they will last at least three months.
