Amazing, fantastic, intimate.. we were a row back from the stage by choice. The director of the convocations told us if we arrived 30 min before the show we'd have our pick of seats, he was right. It was right up there with the Tom Waits show as the all time best. Got to do a meet & greet with the band afterwards. Enjoyed the Iolite that weekend quite a bit, and our own in-room bar since it's dry town. The Flies had a bunch of the college kids doing the hippie dance next to the stage. Good times!

Yea, their music is mind blowing. Such funky, psychedelic bluegrass. I fucking love it. Rich (I believe is his name, the younger looking banjo player) is like Hendrix on a good damn banjo. So talented, I do hope they are back at that festival when I return next year, they were my favorite band there.

Never heard that Geiom cut before..nice one.

I've been enjoying the way's in which Dubstep, have been progressing and evolving into various sub-genre's/styles. I LOVE a lot of the stuff from Pangea, and the cats that are fusing Italo/Nu Disco with Dub step all into new, lush soundscape's.

Currently i've got this playing : Molecule "I wont let you fall"...chilllllllllllled.

Last night I saw a documentary on a GREAT jazz "song stylist" as she called herself. I've enjoyed her music for years, but never really listened with passion.

Anita O'day.

What a voice, or I should say "instrument"!

Her music, combined with what she struggled with (and overcame) make her my new hero and musical muse.

Hey man great! Boards of Canada - Probably in my top 3 of overall great music to get stoned. So much great music out there. Ever listen to any Luke Vibert while stoned? How about Orbital? Pretty cool too. Sometimes I like a bit of DJ Shadow (entroducing....., private press)

"Spiral out, keep going..."

Very cool.

Ones I've recently supported by actually buying a cd :p: The Low Anthem (saw live, gave me chills), The Rain Band, Nordic Nomadic..
All great, give 'em a listen if you can.

No problem :).Too bad they were a one-album band. I have to say though, every song on the disc is good.

We have a insane amount of really good music on our compy jukebox. According to Winamp: 27327 items, 27 days plus 20:19:48 hours of continuous music. Our house is rarely completely silent.. Then there's Pandora..

OMG Pandora ... yep, use it daily. And I'm like you with a massive mp3 library. It's great to have choice.

Damn that's a lot of goods. I thought my list was big (7500 titles), haha. There really is literally an endless amount of good music to listen to though, it's just a matter of time before you come across the bands and whatnot.

It helps when you do hard-drive swaps with friends that are similarly inclined. 500 gig portable hard drives are a great investment for storage and swapping..

Trust me on this. Go to his site and noodle around on the multimedia section, esp the vids. If you have time- c/o the 30-Minute Music Hour show & interview (very worth it.) If you don't like it, at least you can't call it unoriginal.

I missed him when he was in town a few months ago. I am going to plan a weekend trip to see him this time.
