It is very close. The 65T has familiarity because I have been using it for awhile. I love how modular the Devastator is. You can use it with the ash catcher or without. You can use the mouthpiece, or substitute a HydraTube. There are lots of different combos you can choose from.

I think my favorite way to use it is without an ash catcher and a HydraTube attached instead of the mouthpiece. The swagger ones work well because of the bent neck.

If I were walking up to the Devastator and a 65T for the first time... I would be more impressed with the Devastator. The versatility of it is really appealing to me. I like that all the down stems are removable. I feel like it makes it easy to clean.

The modularity of the Devastator is definitely intriguing, but given that I only plan to make a single glass purchase in the foreseeable future, which would you recommend based solely on effect of the hit? I tried the Devastator with the Double Swagger at the Kush Expo and felt it was too much diffusion. The hit just didn't medicate me like I'd anticipated. So if I purchased a Devastator I would use it with the included mouthpiece or my Hydratree at most. So let's say Devastator with single perc HT vs. Stereo Matrix: which one will give me the best effect off a single rip? I know it's probably damn close, but if you had to pick one... :ko:

I would say the default Devastator would be a good option for you then. Not too much filtration, but enough to smooth big hits out.

I would have a really hard time picking just one. I have more of a bias towards the 65T... only because I already have an emotional connection to it. I had to drive 8 hours in a single day to get it. Went from Seattle to Portland and back. Spent the day with my partner doing it. There is allot of sentimental stuff associated with that piece.

Now if I remove all of that and walk up to it from a fresh new perspective I would probably pick the Devastator.

Well, you almost answered yourself :) If your looking for intensity of the rip, the less diffusion the better. As you pointed out, hitting the devastator and the double swagger, diffused it to the point that you didn't care for the lack of effect. That being said, you want the possibility to have something that provides a less diffused heavy hit.

I'd say go devastator. With the Mobius, you can only change the diffusion by how much water you use. With the devastator, you can change water levels, type of percs, how much/little diffusion you want.

If your worried about something that will 'over scrub' your vapor, to the point of it being less effective than expected, I'd say don't do anything that will limit you in your options. The devastator, your options are pretty wide open, even out of the box.

Edit* looks like SliM beat me to the punch! Same point though, I suppose. If your planning on a single purchase, for the rest of your foreseeable future, and your worry, is a piece that diffuses too much, don't limit yourself to a piece, that won't ever 'change.' The devastator, should leave you satisfied, somehow, if not in many ways.

That's a really good way of looking at it. Thanks!

EDIT: So I'm super obsessive when it comes to making big purchases, and so I have to ask one final question regarding the Stereo Matrix vs. Devastator comparison and then I'll move on with my life.... how does the amount of diffusion compare between the setup I hit at the Kush Expo (Devastator with Double Swagger) and the 65t? I guess I've just wanted to try a Stereo Matrix for so long that I'm biased toward it even though I have zero experience with it lol. If the Stereo Matrix has less diffusion or is comparable to the base model of the Devastator, then that'll be my answer. And if not, then the Devastator it is.

just tried the cloud at 3 oclock. holy fuck!

Update: 3 is too much for me. yewwoo! nice option though and ya, thick milky vape.

Good! I am glad that produced stronger results. Keep experimenting and you will find your "sweet spot". You will eventually find a temperature with just enough kick without too much punch. ;)

SliM, that video is making me drool. It was nice chatting with you for a bit this evening. The bedroom is about to get cloudy :) Really, I should have run into Costco to see if they had any Wemo's available.

I've changed my flow with the cloud up a bit. For the last few days I've been loading only a pinch or two to each load. I don't know that I get anymore medicated but my use seems to have gone down even more doing this. It also came as an easy change as I'd been trying to start taking the elbow out of each hit as to not over roast the herb. I've also found my temperature ranges between 1:30-3 on the dial. Been bouncing back and forth between the hydratube and my cheapo bubbler - the hydratube has better flavor hands down.

I enjoyed meeting you again. I remember seeing you at the cup, but it is nice to put a face to the name again. I don't think we had a huge opportunity to chat during the cup. Those events are crazy. You end up meeting so many great people at them. I have been lucky enough to run in to a few people I met at the event since then. Glad you made it back home okay tonight. We are used to rain here in Seattle, but that was pretty intense at times.

Has anyone had issues with requesting a cloud sleeve?

Maybe? Let's see. I've emailed a couple times, and I've PM'd a couple times. Here is what I get...Currently, they are waiting on a large enough shipment of Sleeves, to accommodate everyone who asked for them.

Initially, on september 23rd, Troi mentioned the Cloud Sleeve here, in the vapexhale thread,
Regarding the Cloud Sleev, This is a new silicone wrap that we provide with cloud packages. This is for users whom live in higher temperature environment's or use their cloud for longer sessions. Or if you feel your cloud is hot to hold the sleeve solves your problem. If you feel you need a sleeve, email me at troi@vapexhale.com with your SN and I'll get you taken care of.

I, and evidently hundreds of others, emailed troi between that time, and the 29th of september.
I received hundreds of emails about cloud sleeve's, we are working out the logistics of getting everyone a sleeve. As we did not promise a timetable on when that would be turned around, I kindly ask penitence while I work this out. If you want to verify that I received your email -- send me another email troi@vapexhale.com, and I will verify that I have your sleeve request. We want to get these all out but since the population of cloud owners without sleeve's consist's of several hundreds we greatly appreciate everyone's patience.

Secondly we have a phone number (484-453-8236), at any time if you need to get in touch with us immediately or your waiting on a question, please utilize it.

I never emailed back, as he said, to confirm that he received my initial one. I have, however sent a couple PMs here, since these posts/emails.

The first PM I sent, on October 21st, simply asked if there was any update on the Sleeves, etc...and asking if I could buy one now, with or without some extra ELBs. The response I got, the same day, pretty much said, we're waiting on a large shipment. When we receive it, we'll email everyone who requested a sleeve.

I hadn't hear back anything here in the thread, in email, or pm, so I sent another PM yesterday, after seeing Troi post here in the forum. I asked, once again, if there was any update on the sleeves. Haven't heard back anything yet.

Like I said a few pages back, I'm not really upset about this, just a little frustrated, that it's taking a while. Especially seeing people getting new Clouds with sleeves, and not using them  :D

how are you guys getting such thick vape out of the cloud? no matter if i use a little or a lot of salad in my ELB i only get transclucent vape in my hydratube. i use the cloud on 12 oclock.
How long do you let it heat up? I run mine at 12 also, it goes green after about 10min but then I let it sit another 10min or so (total about 20min) during which time I grind the material and let it air/dry out just a bit (seems like that helps produce the thick vapor)
I find waiting an extra 10 or 20 mins really lets it heat up. To get it to heat up faster make sure to turn the dial to 100% and then clock it back down when your getting ready to hit it.

I am sorry that it is taken so long, but as I have responded to everyone when I have been asked "when will I get my sleev" we are waiting on inventory. VXL Wants to get everyone there sleeves, we have a list of people, we know you guys want a sleev. We just need to get them in stock. As soon as we do, you all will be notified both on this thread and via email as everyone who has contacted me has been placed in a email list, which I plan to take care of.

So I just had a near combustion experience at 12 on the dial, that for me, confirms the over packed ELB theory... I accidentally overstuffed my ELB (loaded it twice... duh:ko:) and by the end of the load, when I pulled the ELB out of the cloud, it smelled like it was about to burn. I dumped it and it was way too packed, the bottom was black, and the top was still green. So that is a good indication of what may be happening for some people. My herb is still pretty fresh too, med. grind, a couple of weeks dry but not cured yet. Just thought I'd share...

Overstuffing seems to have the same effect as plugging the bottom.... Thanks for sharing, these seem to be the two most common culprits when combustion happens in the Cloud. I used to pack my ELBs 80% full, now I am packing about 25% and getting about 2 good rips. In my experience, three 25% loads get me more medicated than one 75% full ELB.

Yeah, I aim for the 2-3 hit load, and must have already loaded it, then walked away and forgot...came back and loaded it again  its been a cloudy halloween so far :D Glad to offer my words.

I will agree I think I end up getting more medicated off multiple smaller loads. I can't seem to change my pattern. I don't get the same lung busting hits I like. For me, I have to find a balance between over/under packing. I like to sprinkle mine full (to the top) and then put the cap on. The material inside compresses, but still allows for airflow. It ends up being around .2-.25 grams per ELB.

I was helping someone medicate and sprinkled just enough to fill the bottom of the ELB. It worked fantastically well. I think they got about as medicated as I do from a full ELB from that little bit. I love how easily you can scale the dosage.

Just wanted to update everyone... I am actually traveling overseas and will be back in the US on November 19th. Troi and VaporRing will be holding down the fort but they are currently dealing with Hurricane Sandy. They will do their best to stay in contact with customers during this time but if follow up is a bit slower, please cut them slack until the hurricane passes.

My heart goes out to all the people who were affected by this, hope everyone on the east coast is doing ok.

I hope you have fun on your tip. I want to see lots of photographs when you get back.

I am also saddened by the destruction Sandy caused. I hope anyone affected can get back in to the swing of things quickly. It it sad to see some iconic landmarks washed away during the storm. I really hope no one on this board lost anything that was irreplaceable.

Love my Cloud! My wife and I were evacuated from Brooklyn, do to the storm. We headed out East to Westhampton to help out my parents, with clearing trees, and stuff. They had no power so I have been Cloud free, for the last two days. Drove back to Brooklyn this morning, to find power on. It is amazing how good the taste is! I really enjoyed that buzz!
I wish everyone the best after Sandy. I hope things return to normal soon on the East Coast.
Good luck!
