Some don't smell "hardly" at all if in your pocket OFF. I was talking about being off not on. I know the DV and MFLB smells bad in my pocket(with a spent or partially spent load) that people say what is that smell. The INH if I don't have the tubing doesn't smell at all.

While heating/vaping yes they all smell but some more then others.

I'd agree with this for every vapourizer except the Pax. I can't think of another device that constantly heats the load at vapourizing temperature. This means that it is always giving off some vapour and therefore is always creating some odour whenever it is on. I find this makes it much more noticeable than my other vapourizers.

The iolites would be in the same boat. Obviously if you have active vaporization going on in in your pocket, in your lap or in the car, it's going to smell. Vaped weed smells.

Thought I would pass along this info, sorry I had to be the one to learn the lesson.

My Pax took a dump this weekend. It was working fine, I cleaned it and put it on the charger and it started flashing a lighter green light and after checking to see if it worked, which it did, I put it back on charge, it started the light green flashing light again and completely died. Now it does not do anything.

I contacted Ploom, hoping for some sort of repair. I purchased the unit used on Ebay, and knew I was taking a chance when it came to warranty service, THAT I expected. What I was not expecting was to be told by 'Rocket', one of their customer service specialists that because I purchased it from a third party, it could not be repaired at all, not even for non-warranty service.

I am not a fool, and understood the freebie service would not be available. I did not expect to be treated so curtly by their customer service. The reviews of their customer service have been glowing, but my experience really left a bitter taste in my mouth, much more so than that left by the Puffit.

So a warning to those that would purchase the Pax used from a third party, it cannot be repaired and you will be out all of your money. Not being able to have my Pax repaired for a fee is ludicrous.

Oops, I completely forgot the Iolite. Regardless, we agree in principle.

Might want to consider trying to contact them again, did you use chat? It seems something like this would merit trying more than once, to talk to somebody different, possibly get some real help. If they won't help, that really sux. I see a lot of Pax showing up on ebay.

Yes, I used chat. At first he was pretty cool, when I told him I purchased it on Ebay, the conversation went very cold. I will give it another shot, it sure couldn't hurt.

yeah, I used the chat a few times, about the temp light issue, and once I got somebody who obviously didn't want to help me, so the next day I tried again, and got a different person who was much more helpful. I don't know if this will apply to your situation, but at this point it could not hurt.

I just chatted with Rocket again and mentioned I would love to go back to FC with some good news, as my buds here suggested I should try again as maybe I caught someone on a bad Monday. He at least asked for my email and said they would get back with me before the end of the day. Hoping against all hope they will repair without having to purchase a new one.

I DO love my Pax ... when it works.

Hi Chris:

We're still finalizing the details of our out-of-warranty Pax servicing program. As we want to thoroughly service our customers' needs in the meanwhile, we're going to make an exception for you and warranty service your device. To be clear, once our out-of-warranty Pax servicing program details have been finalized and published, we will no longer be servicing out-of-warranty devices in this manner. We are making an exception in this case because we want to take good care of you while we're finalizing the program details.

Please send me your shipping address and we will get the return process started.

Best,
Ploom

I hope it works out for you, Dogman, I really do, but I wouldn't expect any company to honor a warranty or accept a product for repair that was purchased on ebay. There are *so* many knockoffs and fakes and stolen items, etc. Also--and I'm really sorry to be harsh--it just seems to me that if you buy from ebay, you may save money but you're also taking a chance and you should accept the consequences and not expect the parent company to bail you out. Many companies are put at a serious disadvantage by ebay, because their reputation is at stake when ebay sells fakes and problem units. For a whole bunch of reasons, we should all buy from legitimate vendors. I would hope that the Pax folks would be polite, but I can't see any reason that they should cover an item they didn't sell and might not have even made; and I wouldn't use FC as a threat to get service. Again, I don't usually post negative comments and I genuinely hope yours gets fixed.

I have also avoided recommending this vape....there's sure no guarantee that others will get a trouble-free unit. .......
Good move willie.
I only recommend vapes to patients when I am certain. It feels pretty bad when a person does not like the vape you recommended!

Yea, again I love my Pax. I would not love some others. If I were to lose my Pax today, I would order a new one same day.

I'm optimistic about the Pax future, however, as they have a clear winner after some tweaking. They just need to be able to unscrew the vape tube so the whole assembly can be removed and cleaned super simply. That and perhaps some circuit board level adjustment

I actually just got done cleaning my Pax (tentative name: Bruce Banner) and it was quick and painless.. I've cleaned it like 3 times in the week that I've had it. It's easier than changing the water in a bong, so I don't mind it at all. Took it to a party last night, and both my friends who have tried it so far didn't really need much instruction besides "puff on it like a cigar." At first, I thought I was packing it down tightly enough, but turns out I wasn't. With a very tight pack (amount the oven is full seems to be irrelevant as long as it is tightly packed down) and high-quality meds, even an entire session on low is satisfactory. I usually revape my ABV later or use it in other ways, so I don't mind that it's only a light golden brown rather than a chocolatey color when I'm done.

This is such an upgrade to the VG and the box vape I was using at home. I used to have to combust pretty much all day to stay medicated, now about 2-3 oven fulls in the Pax will keep me happily medicated for the majority of the day, and then I just vape again before bed if I feel the need. I've just begun to appreciate all the options my dispensary has to offer. I have yet to try concentrates in the Pax, but I really want to in the future. I'm definitely happy with my decision and definitely have all of you here at FC for helping me be informed.

I am so happy. I knew this was the one for you. I am glad you read and took all our opinions into consideration by what you said. I know you will buy more vapes now you will see. Congrats on being able to get your meds without combusting.

We're here to fuck shit up.
So, I know that bubble has been vaped in the Pax by some users. My question is, straight bubble in the oven or sandwiched between two small beds of flower? My better sense tells me to sandwich it, but i'm pretty sure the pics I've seen were of straight bubble in the oven. Lil help?

Wow that is back way far in the thread. If I remember correctly it was a sandwich. I suggest going to joekickass page and click on his posts and find it. He put up pics.

Dreamerr,
Well hell, I had been just about ready to pull the trigger on an inhalator and then wandered into this thread...and now I'm wavering again. This Pax looks interesting. Love the stealthiness of it. I've read back about five pages and notice people talking about some problems with cleaning it and having issues? Can someone summarize for me or point me to the page where the conversation begins?

Also, it looks like the oven is pretty large, and some people are saying packing tightly is best. How much does the oven hold? Is it enough to sustain one average person through an entire concert without reloading? That would be ideal if it was since I want this for a portable and concert vape.

As do I, & my MFLB was a disaster at 'Tribe this past weekend(MFLB is typically difficult at shows IMO). I have finally placed my order, & now am on the hunt for whatever is needed to attach a PAX to GonG Joints(when at home).
The dude abides. The PAX will tie the room together, almost as nicely as the rug.

Ok, I just read your post on the pax thread. It is funny I said concert without seeing that. Someone complained pages back about the smell and others said it was a perfect concert vape and easy to get through security even when they saw it. I think you may want to get the pax if you want it mostly for concerts. I don't know how the INH would fly if they saw it while going through security. With the pax they just wrap headphones around it and it looks like an mp3 player. I am just repeating what I have read. Good luck on your choice.

That is exactly what I was thinking Dreamerr. What I love about the Inh for concerts is that you can pre-pack several cartridges and do a quick change during the show, but it is rather large. I have big hands, but I think even my hands wouldn't palm it very well.

The Pax looks really interesting, very stealth. I could see how people mistake it for an electronic device. I just watched a good review of it on Youtube where the guy talks about how big the oven is, so maybe that would suffice in place of multiple cartridges. I am slightly concerned about this cleaning problem people are mentioning, but it has a 10-year warranty. That makes me feel a little better about it.

I'm really leaning toward the Pax right now. I think I'll wait another day at least to sleep on it and read a bit more.

If it makes you feel better I have been going back and forth for a few weeks with the same dilema. I told myself when the upgraded Inhalater is released I will weigh my options and make the choice.

Hey everybody!
I'm new to this forum, and I've been reading through this thread as I just got my Pax about a week and a half ago. So far I love it! But I'm having my first issue..the battery.
I've been using it daily for the past week, and i've noticed that the battery life didn't seem to be lasting for two hours of use, but it was still okay .

But

But now, after using it for 15 minutes, i'll shake it and it'll show green. However, when i put it on the charger for half a second, then take it off and shake it, it's red!
I'm thinking i may have a faulty battery?

Dreamerr, in your sig you mention the MFLB as "semi-retired from the lovely people that make them." This is the Pax thread, I understand but what did you mean by this?
Thanks,

This is how mine was too. My suggestion is to leave it on the charger over night or even for a full day. This will gave the batterie to "stretch its legs" if you will and then this problem will go away.
