I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with djonkoman, and don't fret too much about the Pumpkin, I know they can be hard to find for some so any big veg will do if you can't find one.

@farscaper. You can post as many pics as you like but in the end you have to pick just one and state it as your entry piece. Based on your first entry I really can't wait to see what you come up with

So guys, I screwed up my first attempt, but I used the pulp to make pumpkin bread!

I'm gonna go for a more simple concept on my next attempt

Having mild arthritis and my wife dealing with worse... I get it. Some of those cuts must have been a bitch, especially getting towards the end. I can deal with it initially, its just the constant grip and trying to carve... ugh. Props, friend.

And actually, t-dub... if I get a chance to get a pumpkin and carving stuff in the next few days, you would be responsible for inspiring me to do so. I've had the idea since JRR announced it and I'm shocked... the obvious has gone >>whooooooosh>> so far.

I'm just trying to figure out if I can cut it without destroying the pumpkin or my hands. :lol:

Thanks BDV, actually scraping the guts out was the worst part, it just went downhill from there $:\$

little hint with getting guts out... try sticking a hand mixer or a drill with a paint stir stick attached to it into the cavity and use it to scramble things about a bit and itll help get a lot of the loose guts out without much effort. as for if your gonna go scrape a lot of inner wall off i cant help u there. thats a bitch no matter whatcha do... IMO.
Note: i dont know how the mixer or drill will fair for those with arthritis, but it does speed the process as long as you dont get a tuff ass pumpkin.

Fuck... Well, i did it.... Lol i always do...
Took a break from carving to say that i drew official first blood!
exacto knife got me by suprise... Im always the one poking a finger lmao.

Its all worth it!

Edit: it is now 2:30 am my time... Going to bed. I will post pics on the flip side folks.

OK, #1... im not gonna win the pretty award... not by far. #2... somebody has been watching and reading toooooo much walking dead for his own good :razz:

. #3 Here is my submission... unless i can one up it with the next. My wife said, "make a funny one"... i dont think that really sunk in very well... LMAO, so if the last one of the season turns out cute I will post it for the lady, if not... everyone can still be a little grossed out by this guy.

I like to tell little stories about my pumpkins... so...

This one was lurking about yesterday... had to put this Zombie-Pumpkin down! was a biggn' though so it didnt go down easy!

You can see very clearly below where it got attacked by another Zombie-Pumpkin

The Two Liter bottle is for size reference, this was a big old pumpkin!...

so make sure to keep an Eye on your pumpkin patch... there just might be a Zombie-Pumpkin waiting to bite you too!

Figured I'd throw one in the mix. Just setup the rig though might do another pumpkin, lol. If I can come up with something better I'll post that up as my submission.
