I envision a plastic cover that goes on after use. It would protect the male joint and extend far enough down the Cloud that it would not damage the male joint if it took a hit.

i think the high can be different because the temperature control is less precise on the SSV compared to the Cloud. An accurate temperature control profile will extract precise herbal components. With enough practice, and user experience, this can be approximated with the SSV -- probably some, or even most, of the time. i'm too old to want to work that hard, or pay that much attention.

Do you think I havent used both? Ive had an SSV for a couple of years. Ive had my Cloud for 4-5 months as well. When we used the SSV, we would go through X amount of weed a month. When we use the Cloud, we go through X amount of weed a month. I know how much Im buying compared to when we were using the SSV and our usage habits havent increased.

But so what? If I use more with the Cloud then so be it. Its not a lot more and the Cloud is consistent. Ive never combusted with the Cloud but I cant say the same about the SSV. There is a reason our SSV hasnt been out of its bag in months.

This makes sense. Your analysis is based on purchase and consumption habits, not load comparison. Both the SSV and the Cloud have the ability to be huge weed hogs. My point is that the Cloud at least can be used with smaller loads and enter the efficient vape comparison very strongly. The SSV can't even be used with such small loads. I could easily go through more weed with the Cloud simply because the vapor is more enjoyable. I think once you play with the Cloud using small loads you will be very impressed and start using even less weed.

Sounds like it would work well. I already have a case for my could but for those who keep it on a desk it could be a useful item.

can't wait to see it, purp...and thanks ahead of time!
Your doing everyone in the community a solid and apologizing? Nah man, take as much time as you need! And thanks!

Your both welcome! I woke up just about 10 minutes ago, after fighting to get WMM to not freeze, before bed. I turned on the tv, to see that WMM was still frozen. Frustrated that I was ignorant last night, and hadn't saved my project file at all, I really didn't want to exit and loose all of the editing work. But, I had no choice, so I went to close WMM, and it gave me the option to save my project :D So, I saved it, let WMM close, and reopened it all to find my project salvaged, and with no issues. It's going smoothly, at about 10%, and I'll upload to youtube/here as soon as it's done.

So anyway, been loving my Cloud (yet again). I think it's running even better than my first unit! However, I do have a slight issue with it. It doesn't turn on right away, sometimes I have to click it off twice before it starts up, and sometimes once. I have yet to have it turn on first try. I've been assured that this is not an issue, and that if I wanted to I could send it back, but I think I'm just gonna keep it like this. After all I've been threw, I don't want to send it back yet again. Plus I still have my remaining time on my warranty should anything go wrong.

I was just wondering, how many other people have this issue? I know some people say it has to do with cold, but my apartment is not freezing although it is colder. I have the newer unit, no flared bottom, no clicking.

Great Scott!
I've been sticking to my microbowls at home in the ELB. Just enough to cover the screen. 10% max. Usually I'll want 2 of those, but 20% isn't bad on such a relatively small sized bowl for me. I use more in my T1 when I'm on the go!

So, with the new glass coming out (It sounds like the devastator is coming out soon?) what is the approximate release date. Or is there no date?

It certainly is, IF you load and/or vape less, but to say that there's some kind of design feature on the 7th Floor model that lets you get the same amount of 'high' from less weed, is just not true.

I dont think thats the case at all. Im strictly basing my statements on consumption. Ive never said one is better than the other. I prefer the Cloud.. my SSV hasnt been out of its bag but once since I got the Cloud.

I agree with that but keep in mind that I have two vapor enthusiasts sharing a machine so Mrs PoopMachine's consumptions is figured in as well. We dont ever do small loads so I wouldnt have any first hand experience with small loads.

^^Same here.

Really... Small, itsy bitsy loads in the vape? Why in the world would I??

Pffft.

I just started yesterday. Bitsy loads adding up to the same or even 50% of the loads I had been using previously are getting me as medicated or perhaps a bit more. I've only been doing this for 48 hours, and I certainly don't have any facts, but try it for a day or 2.

Just enough to cover the whole bottom screen of the ELB. 2 of those is about 20% of a ELB for me. I previously would use 1 ELB packed to 60-80%. For this to be medicating me as much is insane. I have just saved myself quite a bit of money IF I can manage to keep this up. I don't see why if I was able to lower my tolerance without a break, I wouldn't be able to maintain it just as easily. Time will tell and I'll certainly update if anything changes. I'm really excited about this.

poop...you don't have to go super thin. I used to go with a half to two-thirds packed elb and get blitzed. Then I tried it with one-third and stopped and got just as blazed. You just don't need all that weed at once! Just back it down a little at a time and find your sweet spot. If you are using more in the Cloud than in the SSV then I am certain you are just filling it more than needed. I would make this even more of a priority if there were multiple users of the Cloud. Don't forget that you can shoot through weed with this thing if you so desire. But the beauty is that you don't have to. Just start with half what you normally put in there. Then cache that shit out...the both of you. Wait a minute. Then if you need more, put in a quarter of what you normally would and cache that out. If that works then you are using 25% less. This whole test for me is what prompted my vaporsloth post a while back.

On a Permanent Vakation
Okay, so, I am officially done using Windows Live Movie Maker. I have spent a few hours early in the am before going to sleep around 6 am, and all day since being up at 2 pm, until now. Only to have completely edited/strung together this movie 4 times total, and tried to 'publish/save the movie' each time, at least a couple times. I have never had issues before. Every video I have posted, since my QWISO dabs video until now, has been with the same camera, same format files, same version of WLMM, and never had an issue. I'm using the same effects, and even less...less transitions, everything. It just won't work. I've been having little issues, and annoyances with WLMM, and it's predecessors, and I've been seeking an alternative for a while now. Any tips on what software any of you folks use for editing your footage, etc...would be greatly appreciated.

So, I went ahead and re-filmed the test, (4 ELBs, packed from less than enough to cover the bottom, to almost full) but using my iPhone 4s, as I can upload to YouTube, directly from the phone, sans WLMM or any PC video editing suit. The only issue, is having to get it all in one take, and in less than ~7 minutes, as my phone has limited space at the moment. It is in the process of uploading to YouTube now. It says "about 18 minutes remaining..."

I filmed all four ELBs, showing how much is in each, and hitting each once. I emptied each out on camera, on a white piece of paper, showing how vaped it is, after hitting each ELB. After filming, I took a few pics with my iPhone as well, of the ABV, in individual piles, to show size/amount vaped, color/evenness of the color, etc. and pics of it next to the fresh bud. All hits were taken at the 12 O'Clock temperature. I used completely clean ELBs and caps. I'll post the video and pictures here as soon as they are uploaded.

Usually, if I were to run into this much trouble making a little movie, I'd give up. But, I just had to go and volunteer myself!
Someone with a camera needs to show a 12:00 hit with barely more than covering the screen of the ELB. I can't imagine beating that.
I'll get right on that  I'll do a few different sized loads, from not enough to cover the bottom, to more than enough, and in between.
So, I didn't want to be "that guy," to promise and not deliver. I try not to do that at least.

Sorry, again, for the delay. I hope this video/these pics, will help show people that the Cloud really is phenomenally effective at extracting the cannabinoids from our flowers, with minimal, even browning, and from even the smallest amounts of flower!

Fresh bud at the bottom of the pic for comparison...

Someone with a silver surfer should post a video, of this small of an amount of flower being vaped...

Maybe Ill break mine out next week.

IIRC, stickstones said that an ELB fits in his SSV's wand? You might try doing that, as it would give a more even comparison. But, if it's possible to somehow pack that little of an amount in the want by itself, that would honestly be a more fair comparison...as the SSV doesn't come with ELBs :brow:

OK disagree with me, I can't force you to be right
Thanks once again to the VapeXhale team.

I jumped on the sale just before it ended Thursday night and picked up the ShowerCap HT. Got my confirmation email, but didn’t get anything else on Friday. I figured they were probably pretty busy getting sale purchases out the door and I’d probably get it early next week for sure since I live in the Bay area.
Came home this afternoon and couldn’t believe my eyes...a discretely packaged box on my porch. Lo and behold it was here already.

Blown away immediately after opening the box since right on top was one of the silicone covers. I’d asked for one a while back, but hadn’t mentioned it in the order, but they remembered! Kudos VapeXhale. One question though, why not black like the unit itself?

First impression is its smaller than I expected, but no big deal. Also difficult to clean/get the water out. I always clean my new gear to start but this will take some practice. You’d think it would be easy so maybe I’m missing something. Tips?

Easier emptying would be useful since it uses so little water that it gets pretty ugly after only a couple of ELBs. An amazingly little amount of water by the way. You almost need to use an eye dropper to fill it. I’ve tried it to just above the cut slits. Higher would seem to make splashing into your mouth possible. More experimenting is definitely called for! :smug:

Flavorwise it is tops (I also have the ShowerDome HT, HydraLine HT and a Mobius Ion). Probably because there is so little water that it is closest to a straight unfiltered draw. Consequently I think a lower temp setting is also called for (I’m using 11:30 instead of my regular 1:00 to start). This is a style that will work well with the portable Cloud (which is surely in development...it must be because I’ve actually had a dream about using it). You’d want to have a minimum amount of water I’d imagine. Something like a Solo with a mini HT?

Back to the experimenting...

Search for posts here by T-Dub, as he has quite a bit of info here on the showercap usage/cleaning :)

Congrats on coming home to an unexpectedly Cloudy evening!

Edit** here are T-dubs posts regarding his showercap prototype. May differ, but his methods should still apply, for filling, emptying, cleaning, etc. Also check out his HT flushing system :)

I love your reasoning on why the Portable Cloud IS in development! "...the portable Cloud (which is surely in development...it must be because I’ve actually had a dream about using it)..."

I've looked through many pages here, the wiki, and faq (non-existent, or down atm) have not seen the answer to why you cannot purchase the cloud unit alone (without a hydratube). I'm sure it has been answered multiple times, either here or in the intro thread, but cannot find it.

Tips:

For filling with repeatable, measurable results, an oral syringe, $2.49 @ Walgreens w/bottle adapter & cleaning brush is helpful:

For cleaning you can blow the water out from the bottom or try making one of these flush hoses, my thread with video here:
