Glad you like the Bubbler, Ed.. you deserve it~
Love you Rick- send our love to Pat!
I am sorry I have not posted here in so long.
I will confess right here to all that I have been in denial, and hating that new folks can not be CRZ recipients.
To date, I am prouder of my Zap collection than anything in my home... and Mabel.. my 1st CRZ is still my best.

Here guys... Let me re post my favorite Zap Video!
Every time I watch it, I relive the excitement that is and always will be "ZAP"

I know exactly what you mean, Vito - denial of a sort.
One can say that we were there for the "golden age" of vapes, of log vapes, rather.
But that came and went. For the most part.
But it's an ongoing evolution and revolution,
within an active and creative enterprising community.
Things will be OK for us, I just hope things will be OK for Rick and Pat as well, as we all do.

Unless it was quite a large spill you should be ok. It might take a while for the scent to wear off, but aside from that I can't see too much harm. My advice for now is to leave the Zap in a warm area - direct sunlight or near an oven will do. Leave for a day to evaporate as much naturally as possible.

Then plug in and leave for a full 24hrs before use. There might still be a bit of smoke but it shouldn't last too long and should burn itself off.

Please don't take this as gospel, just my advice. Good luck

That happened to me a couple months back. I was taking the aroma cup off and bam spilled pretty much all of it into the heater and on the vape. I cleaned up quickly what I saw, and turned it upside down and unplugged it. I let it get cold. and then carefully take a qtip with some iso on the end and WHILE THE UNIT IS UPSIDE DOWN gently clean around and in the heatport, no fussing with the screen and not pushing so hard that the screen might get damaged. Then i let it sit and air for a bit and then I left it on for a while and the strong aroma eventually diisipated. Now my zap is just as it was when I got it :) hope this helps. I was devastated when I spilled it, thinking it would never be the same as it was before. But dont worry.

p.s: what I spilled was 100% pure essential oil. I dont know if synthetic oils or toxic perfume chemicals will go away.

It has happened to members of the community here.. and in one case, it was very bad.
He did the following:
1- opened bottom
2- unsoldered plug
3-removed ring
4-removed core
5- scrubbed the wood with terrycloth and splashes of Iso
6-cleaned all internals with Iso
7- reassembled
This fellow says it is perfect.
There was a second case, and this was attempted, but it was too far gone, as the wood had absorbed a bit too much oil (big spill!).. and the man had to get a new Zap~

I have spilled essential oil into my log a few times overfilling the aroma bowl,it runs inside the log around the outside of the heat port, small amounts only and the only issues ive found are youre unit will need time maybe an hour to burn the oil off the element and core.

if you don t wait and vape you ll know it:) . You will be vaping essential oils and meds together through youre stem.:ugh:

You can buy an eyedrop dripper or plastic syringe from a pharmacy to top up youre aroma cup more accurately. It does a much better than shaking the oil from essential oils dripper bottles.Just pull out the plastic drip tip on the bottle, suck the essential oil from the bottle and then fill the aromacup gently until its 3/4 full or so.:)

removing a half full hot aroma bowl before you vape a stem can be tricky especially if its been a good day:brow:

Thanks Vito for the fond memories. Zaps have always seemed to fit you well and you in turn do much good for Zaps and Zapville. We have always felt honored having you on the Zapville team. You are genuine beyond any words I can say.

Thanks again to all who have chimed in with helpful information and sent well wishes over the last few months. Also the same thanks for all that have done so but in a quiet way, through our common connection to the Universe. Those thoughts and prayers DO influence our life in a big way. The FC community has been a big part of our life for several years. We miss the connection for sure. What was so strange was the forced disconnect. Forced in such a severely brutal way. These kind of events have chilling affects on us all to one degree or another. Hopefully, as time goes on we can understand events more clearly.

Oh how I remember the second "essential oil polluted Zap" Vito refers to. I do think it was even the bad stuff, not real essential oil. That thing stunk to high heaven. I took everything out of the wood. Everything was ruined except the heatport, being solid SS and cleanable. I came in the shop the next day and the entire shop stunk until I took the wooden shell outside. The heatport took several attempts in boiling water with Dawn and an ISO shot or two. It still was not as pristine as when new. Small spills can be simply burned off as several folks have mentioned. The juice itself will not hurt the internals but can leave a lasting annoying smell if allowed to soak in to the hot dry wood.

Hard to believe it has been close to a month since my last post. Kind of like we are in this strange room of some kind. Next post sooner is my guess.
Thanks again all for the support. We are very grateful for the FC community.

Time for some news, bad news.
The State of Idaho has filed a civil suit to take our property which includes our families two houses and two shops. This was done last Friday, 2 business days before their deadline and we did not find out til yesterday. This is being done for making Aromazap only as we do not grow or sell pot, a fact which LEO confirmed when they invaded our property for six hours on 7/25/12.
We will be talking with our lawyer today after he does some poking around at the courthouse.
I had thought this might go away after waiting 90 days, their time limit to file anything related to our property.
But I was wrong and Pat was right. They are not nice in any way. They see those of us who use MJ as bad people, period. Try to take a families house and land for making a log vape.

This story is just beginning. We do have an excellent lawyer who will fight hard for us. He is fighting for us in the big war, the war on drugs. The war that makes alot of jobs for alot of people hurting US citizens who do not hurt anybody. Hell, if you are old, they will not hurt you. They will just take your home away, your home for over 30 years.

Game on. We may ask for some help from this community. Ricky cried hard last night.

Damn, Rick. That really sucks balls. It makes me really angry to hear that this bullshit can happen in the 21st century in our so-called civilized country.

Keep us posted. Our thoughts are with you and Pat.

Nuts. Completely fucking nuts. How in the hell can they take your fucking house away for making an aroma therapy device? Hell, for that matter, how in the hell can they take away your house for making a device that makes it healthier for those that consume cannabis? Makes no sense whatsoever. Sounds like there must be something' else going on here, eh? I'm curious Rick. Do you have any priors? Have you pissed anyone off in the political or LEO departments? Just trying to make some sense out of all this.

I think Rick just got caught in the crossfire of the war on drugs.. Everything was going merrily along until there was a formal complaint made.

After that happened, who knows what can happen. It seems people in the government and LEO departments are freaking out and losing a sense of perception and just react mindlessly to what they consider is a hazard to public else, or at least that is what they tell us, is the reason for this so called war.

It is a war where propaganda and panic policies take over science and cold observations. The bias against MJ as a medicinal plant is huge, and unfair, considering the harm the plant causes compared to other legal drugs like tobacco or alcohol. Not to mention so many pharmaceutical drugs who have way more dangers and side effects than MJ used as a medicine, and can also be used recreationaly.

It is harder to be fair, if you are blinded by lies and refuse to see the truth.

My thoughts go to you Rick and Pat, may they be able to see the truth and just leave things as they are.

I have serious thoughts on the borderline legality of this fiasco.
I can not disrupt the karmic order by explaining, but we all need to stay focused and positive for Rick and Pat.
Positive that the outcome will cradle their families well being.
Anger is a dark force, and grants the enemy power.

What a guy!
At first my response was going to be outrage at what happened, but Vito is right. *deep breath*. Ok better.

Rick I want you to know my thoughts are with you every day, at least once a day at some point when I pick up my Zap I think of you and your family and hope that this turns out all right for you. Keep us updated and ask for help if you need it.

Sad news indeed. But I'm sure you know Rick that you have a ton of ears to burn and shoulders to lean on here in FC-Land.

Good luck and lets pray karma remembers that it's time to pay some back into the Rick fund :)

I didn't realize this but Idaho has some of the toughest statues in the nation regarding paraphernalia, including forfeiture of vehicles and other property.

Check this out.... Idaho Paraphernalia Penalties

Good luck Rick and Pat, my positive thoughts are sent your way.
