My unit s/n 554, which I received July, has a cutoff time of 42 minutes. It took me months to figure this out. Of course I usually noticed the cutoff timer after having used the Cloud and my sense of time wasn't the strongest. I finally timed it over the course of an evening and it is 42 minutes to the minute. I didn't time the seconds though.
It was mentioned a few pages back so I finally remembered to post this info. Maybe it helps someone else who has been wondering "has it been an hour already?". It doesn't bother me a bit.
I have to buy another ELB after only using the 2 that came with my unit since July. Dogs will and can destroy them. You have been warned. Hopefully the 4 I get fit perfectly out the box.
I bought the FC bubbler from glassblowersdirect and hope to have it by next week. It is the first piece I bought since owning the Cloud. I want it to fill a niche that the HT just doesn't work for. Can't wait to try it out when it arrives.
I wish VXL offered a "Cloud Cover" which could be a hard plastic cover that protected the joint when you weren't using it. I'm also hoping VXL gets the Cloud Sleeves out soon too or something else they cooked up that serves the same purpose. A couple folks mention this and I wanted to add it really works. Get a small fan and point it at the area near your Cloud. I do it and I keep mine on the 1:30 hash constantly at night and it outer surface never really heats up. It is a decent set up but it isn't pratical all the time. When I don't remember or can't for some reason the Cloud will be HOT after a few resets of the cutoff timer.
Anyone who is on the fence, stop reading and get out your wallet if you have the oppurtunity. You won't be dissapointed even with this talk about new units or old problems. The same guys are selling the same product and it will blow you away when you try it out. In the words of Dennis Green, "They are who we thought they were". VXL is just that; a group of dudes who got together and did it right. In a few years it will be very cool to look back on the Cloud release and what will have been a milestone in vaporization technology.

Man, I am so depressed. Only my luck would have this happen to me. :-(. I don't think I've been this depressed over a material object. I love technology, and Apple gadgets, and even when they break I don't feel this depressed.
You know, the funny part is, I just want a working Cloud, and would still buy a Cloud tomorrow even after all my issues. It's truly the best vaporizer ever.

One day I will get a backup Cloud, mostly because if I get VAS, I would love nothing more than to keep supporting VXL. I know I would survive just fine if it went down because I love my UD so much and it has no trouble stepping in as my DD. In fact, I've gotten to the point where I use my Cloud for wake n bake's and night cap's only while I use my UD throughout the day. It makes one hell of a non-Cloud backup IMO.

Ok, so the first hits are tastiest in the VHW and the Cloud maintains the flavour until the end while the VHW get that popcorn aftertaste.
I own both the Cloud and the VHW and have never had a burnt popcorn taste with the Vriptech. I'm not saying the taste is better in the VHW but I never experienced that with mine and it actually produced much lighter ABV than my Cloud does. Don't get me wrong though, I like the Cloud much more and haven't even used my VHW since July. I love not having to store my vape in a large mason jar in between hits now. It's main purpose now is backup duty to the Cloud and I hope it doesn't have to step up anytime soon...

To be clear, the only time I experience "burnt popcorn" flavoring with the VHW is when I pack larger bowls and then the taste only occurs towards the end of the bowl. Even then the taste is much less pronounced than it is with other vaporizers, but I do find the end of large VHW bowls can get a little spent before they stop producing vapor.

I read your posts and completely agree with you, that's why I quoted Vorrange. He just kind of made the statement like it was fact so I wanted to give another opinion about the VHW. I couldn't agree more with your recent posts comparing the Cloud & VHW by the way, spot on.
I understand max...my point was that the default heat setting on my VHW wouldn't allow me to get ABV as dark as Cloud-ABV at 1 o'clock, even if I had the VHW turned all the way up (never touched the T1 knob though...).

So i just wanted to share my success story. I cracked my hydratube around its base the second day I owned it and I was pretty bummed. The cracks surprisingly did not leak but It was still too fragile to use. I searched locally and couldnt find anyone to do repairs. So I put away my HT and after a few weeks of contemplating what to do, I came up with 2 options.
1. Somehow torch the cracks and try to press it back together in order to seal the cracks, or
2. Plastidip.
The first option seemed a little bit dangerous so I opted with the plastidip. The can of plastidip was just big enough to allow me to dip the hydratube in it. I just sealed the female joint with a quarter and some tape and then dipped it right in. I let it dry for an hour and used a knife to cut the quarter out.After 2 days of letting the plastidip dry and set, I am very pleased with the results. It looks very nice and I feel a little safer when I set it down on a table. Since the HT's have no warranty unless you receive a faulty one, I figured I would share something I did that could POSSIBLY make my HT survive a small fall, and it also acts as a plasticy-grip.
TLDR: I plastidipped my cracked HT. I think it makes the HT a little more durable.. It looks really nice also IMO.
Also a question, In Iloveboobs Green Cloud Video, his video description says that he voided his warranty by painting his cloud. Is the warranty really voided by doing this? TIA

Despite having no money at all after getting a new car, I decided that if medical passes on November, and doesn't suck donkey balls somehow, I'm getting myself a nice(er) bubbler for my cloud.
Lets say I want it to be under 1 foot tall and quality glass being the only 2 restrictions now, can some of you glass snobs offer any suggestions? I'll say no budget since it'll be a celebratory life changing occasion piece, but lets be real no $20k pirate ship bubblers or anything like that. A NICE TREAT for a working man with a cloud haha. I'd post in a general glass thread, but this is going to be used with the cloud, so it really is a cloud specific question since IDK what style of glass works best with it etc. Open to many options. I've already got my hopes up.

To me this is outrageous. I never go past 12:00. 3:00 would be for hash or something and that gets some dark hash.

My first ELB was 0.19g and after vaping in the cloud its 0.11g, that's more than 40% extraction! the last time i measured this was with an arizer solo and i was getting about 25% extraction so the cloud is quite a bit more efficient.
and i can tell. that 0.19g i put in would barely nudge me. i've built up a tolerance, or so i was thinking. maybe i am but with the cloud it really got me floating like i used to! is it the cloud. is it me.

Anybody here know the total height of the Cloud vaporizer? Perhaps the entire dimensions as well?
Also, would anyone happen to know exactly how tall a Cloud unit is with a Swagger Showercap HT?
I want to know if the table I have will work well enough height-wise with my unit if I decide to get one!

I don't think it accurate to relate herb before vs after vape weights directly with extraction efficiency. There is some moisture (H2O) content, etc., and, following that analogy solely, combustion would be the most efficient (ash weighing very little).

According to vaporpedia, "in case size hasn't been mentioned lately, the Cloud body by itself is 6.5" high (add almost an inch for the gg joint) with about a 2.25" diameter-the size of a typical 500ml bottle of water. " from Max.
So 6.5" + however big the showercap is. My guess is around 9" or so. Someone maybe can elaborate more.

A pack I just bought actually has loose caps - the ELB body part is just fine (I previously had a pack of fat ELBs) but the caps sit very loosely in the ELB body - maybe ok for hydratube use but a cap fell off when using both my DG and Mobius last night. No big deal as I have other ELBs but maybe there was a manufacturing error again (this time on the too-skinny side)?
